THOSE OF YOU WHO MAY NOT KNOW, THE WORLD BANK HAS BEEN BEHIND ALL THE REFORMS IN TRANSFORMING THE ZAMBIAN ECONOMY FROM 100% PUBLIC LED TO A POSITION WHERE WE ARE TODAY 25% PUBLIC LED???. THE BOOMING ECONOMY WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT THE APPROPRIATE AND TIMELY INTERVENTIONS OF THE WORLD BANK. I AM GLAD SECRETARY YAMBA ACKNOWLEDGES THE GOOD ROLE PLAYED BY THE WORLD BANK. I AM ALSO GLAD THAT DANNY IS REPRESENTING US WELL ON THE BOARD. HOWEVER, LET US ALSO RECOGNIZE MANY PEOPLE LIKE GEDION NKOJO, ELLAH CHEMBE, CHILESHE, SIKAZWE, PENZA (MHSRIEP), PROF. MWEENE, MTONGA (MHSRIEP), CHIBANDA, AND MANY OTHERS, WHO SPECIFICALLY PROVIDED POLICY DIRECTION, IMPLEMENTATION AND ALSO MADE MANY PAINFUL BUT NECESSARY DECISIONS WHEN NEEDED.
