Let HH ask his bank on how Sata accessed information-Scott

Vice President Guy Scott

Vice President Guy Scott

Vice President Guy Scott has advised opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) president, Hakainde Hichilema to inquire from his bank on why it disclosed his personal bank account information to an individual.

Dr. Scott told parliament today that if Mr. Hichilema was bothered about President Sata’s having access to his bank account data, it was necessary for him (Hichilema) to follow it up with his bank and find out why it released the information.

The Vice President was responding to a question by UPND Kabompo West Member of Parliament, Ambrose Lufuma who wanted to know whether it was not illegal for anyone to access private bank account information without permission, referring to the circulation of a dossier released by President Sata containing details of wealth amassed by the opposition leader, including bank account information.

Recently, President Sata exposed Mr. Hichilema’s financial and estate records valued at more than KR360 million (K360 billion).

And Dr. Scott said it was unfortunate if opposition political parties were feeling the impact of the Patriotic Front in by-election campaigns.

The Vice President was responding to a question raised by Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Chipata Central Member of Parliament Rueben Mtolo who wanted to know whether the PF prioritized by-elections over the N’cwala Traditional Ceremony which takes place tomorrow as its MPs had not travelled to Eastern Province but were instead present in the house.

Dr. Scott responded by saying he was sorry if the opposition were affected by the positive impact the PF has made in the areas it was campaigning ahead of the by-elections in Livingstone and Mpongwe.

This is simply a failure to govern by both President and VP. Why should Guy Scott behave like he doesn’t see what wrong has been done by President Sata? It reminds me of George Mpombo and Michael Mulongoti who defended even wrong things until they crossed swords and all of a sudden he was declared a monster.

What happened to the right of privacy, if I was HH I would remove my monies and put it in an alternative commercial bank

Terrible and unwarranted to put such information in the public medium without his consent

    Thanks

u need to be concerned VP, u r a law maker, the problem is u put party interest first. when there is a breach in personal infor and privacy. law makers need to make sure the institutions in question get grip of their practices. like the way the phone hacking scandle in the UK.

I agree with the people who say that this GUY is an expired white man. Unless LT just left out vital data linking the questions to his answers, there is no logical connection between his answers and the questions asked – as if he wanted to just inform the house about how much the campaign is costing the nation, but had no opportunity to do so all along – yap yap yap; to simple questions – how expired!

Your statement still does not provide reason to absolve the bank’s breach of client privacy. They can not legally hand bank account information to anyone, even the president who in turn discloses what ought to be privileged information.

Politicians and film stars are usually surrounded by brown nosers. A “brown noser” or “chola boy” is a sycophant, someone who flatters an individual for personal reasons. He is willing to do anything to get what he wants. Why is a sycophant called a “brown noser” & “chola boy”? Such an individual stoops so low that he often rubs his nose in the dirt – and in the process gets his nose brown! The SABC interview responses and this here are a few examples.

Good morning Zambians. It is now 17:00hrs. Did you sleep well for the night and morning as well as the whole afternoon?
While you were asleep, you elected Mr Sata as President and the PF party into government.
While you were asleep, Mr Membe’s The Post newspaper became a department of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. While you were asleep, Mr Sata bloated the Cabinet with several Deputy Ministers so that the salary bill now is greater than when the Cabinet was bigger under MMD by 3 ministers. While you were asleep, a Retired Judge was proposed to be CJ… while you slept…

Yeah, I wonder what this brother to Rupiah Banda has seen in Sata and leaves his brother RB. This gets me thinking, is Sata related to RB? They could be brothers in marriage. Why do these two fight in the media and laugh when they are together. Is it only me or the people surrounding these two are making a mockery of us all. Kaunda and RB are linked through Mama Betty (MHSRIP), RB and Sata are linked through the Sampas. Sata does not seem to hate RB and he has not said anything against RB. What is going on people?

These are the issues with the so called immunity for the President. Start by removing Rupiah Banda’s immunity and when HH becomes President in 2016 or God knows when, it will be very easy to strip Michael Sata of his immunity and send him to jail. Simples……..

We Know that HH got the money through privatization commissions and his bank accounts have that information. Thieves who were buying the companies were depositing in his accounts and that info is now in Sata’s hands. Let HH tell us were that money came from if its not through selling of companies where a lot of Zambians lost jobs and died. we are waiting for his lies , but he should be careful coz we have the bank statements…..all trails of money origins are known…

Am not sure in Zambia how things are done ,but in other countries there are organizations which have rights to check in someone’s account or someone’s privacy but not to tell the public,so in this case it’s not the bank which is wrong,I personally think the bank is not to blame .

SATA is Republican President and has all the state security/intelligency on his side. Hence, all HH supporters including famous Mushota should know for SATA to access such information is not an issue. What should worry all of you bloggers in defense of HH what SATA intends to use that information for. The MMD state machinery did the same to SATA and what SATA did was not question how his bank account was accessed but explained the source of the money which was in his bank account. In this country I get shocked at how people forget so easily.
