Renard rated 24th in the World

Share

Zambian coach is the third highest ranked coach from the Africa zone.

According to the Institute of Football Coaching Statistics, Renard is perched higher than Stephen Keshi who yanked the Africa Cup trophy from the Frenchman in South Africa.

Renard is at number 24 while Keshi is 27th with legendary Egyptian coach Hassan Shehata, who won the Africa Cup for The Pharaohs in 2006, 2008 and 2010, at 26.

Egyptian coach Bob Bradley is the top ranked coach from Africa in 5th place.

Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer, whom IFCS have wrongly labelled as Equatorial Guinea trainer, is second coach from Africa at number 19.

Meanwhile, Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque is number one followed by German trainer Joachim Low.

  1. just unbelieveable!! how can the french division three and Zambia’s draws coach be ranked so high?

He has never added any value to our football, but taken away even the little we were respected for on the continent.

Well, corruption is everywhere and can get you the best ranking… ask Renard

  2. This is really laughable what criteria did they use and how far back did they go? Do they know how many cups Hassan Shehata has to his name for club and country? Its an insult putting him in the same group with our overpaid PE tutor. I rate the Cape Verdi manager higher than our Renard.

  3. Congrats coach Renard. Have never doubted your great skill abilities as a coach. As a Zambian, I’m truely proud of u.
    Keep up de spirit.
Let de backward minded keep their negative approach. You out smart a lot of them

    • But I take this with a pinch of salt. However, perhaps the fact that he draws more than he loses plays a part in the rankings? I’m really curious: Where is the Ivory Coast coach who always manages to make a winning side lose? And Igesund? just thinking loudly

  4. Dunga for Brazil @ 28 & Advocaat for Belgium @ 35 – Laughable!! – no surprise then that Joao havalange & 2-3 others resigned on Corruption Findings!! (NB: Not allegations!!) Whilst Sepp still hungs on!!

  5. We should not be surprised. The fact that Zambia won the Africa cup and their showing at the previous cup campaign held in 2008 boosted his curriculum vitae. 2013 Zambia bowed out with draws, that’s three defensive stands. So now smile and realized Renard still represents us.

  6. Some of these ratings clearly lack Merit. What are the Key Performance Indicators of a good coach?

  7. Why are we so fixated on people’s beginnings? I see references to “former garbage collector” as a catalyst to degrading him… Is this why Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are still referred to as drop outs at the expense of their contributions to the world? I doubt very much that Renard assembled that awarding committee, neither do I believe that the committee asked anyone for their criteria; they would gladly disclose their premise for the award if you ask them instead of speculating and abusing on a blog!! Congratulations, Renard! By the way, I am curious: What was Jesus’ beginnings again???

    • Kalok Well said my brother! Its that syndrome, very well known in Zed….Pull him down to where he was before he got onto these dizzying heights. He was a gabage collector? Keep reminding him that garbage collectors are at the foot of the perking order and thats where he ought to be. “Then when I meet him he wont hold his head high because Ive reminded him that I am better than the garbage collector”

    • Kalok you are soo right. Its that syndrome very well known in Zed…Pull him down to where he was before he reached these dizzying heights. Remind him always that he once was a garbage collector.
Since garbage collecting is at the foot of the social perking order he should not hold his head high when I meet him… Its me who should always hold my head high since I know he was a garbage collector.
Arent people supposed to be inspired by someone’s movement from the foot of the ladder to the top? If Sata can move from Railway porter to President isn’t that inspiring?

  8. @12, Well said Kalok. Our country is full of illiterates and surely beggars belief that at this day and age – in the 21st Century – will still have people who cannot think straight. If you had to ask them what they do, they have these poxy jobs and want to bring down anyone who has earned an accolade through hard work. Zambia had never won the Africa from its inception until a year ago. What do yo call that? Failure? The country was so jubilant so much that people even died during the celebration and 13 months later these people with memory of fish have forgotten this historical achievement and want to push the man who galvanised a team of losers to achieve great heights. I am happy that many of you small minds won’t be in Brazil to support the boys. Stay at home with your doomed ways…

  9. Stay at home whilst we travel to Rio de Janeiro to support our boys. We’ll be playing beach volley ball in the warm evenings and splashing cool water from the Atlantic ocean on the bodies of some of worlds best and stunning lasses. Can’t wait!

  10. Zambians are neva proud of what they have nowander they live in shambles conglatulation coach for the achievement to me you are still number 1 especially that you gave us the AFCON which other counties in Africa will neva test u ar our hero.We will support all the way until you bring the world cup Home meanwhile these *****s will continue bucking they dont know what is involved gudluk.
