Zambia Women assistant coach Kaluba Kangwa says the team tried its best despite losing 3-1 to Zimbabwe in an international friendly played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday.
Kangwa told fazfootball.com that the purpose of the match was to assess new players who had been incorporated from the under 17 squad that won gold at the Zone 6 games in December.
“It was a good game; as you know we are in the process of constituting a new team and the girls did their best and we are heading in the right direction,” said Kangwa.
“The majority of the players we used were from the under 17 team and we had an opportunity to assess them ahead of qualifiers for the Womens Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Namibia next year.”
Mary Mwakapila scored the consolation goal for Zambia.
Problem is we have been taking positives from loses for a long time.
I was confused. Shepolopolo loss to Zimbabwe or Shipolopolo. No wonder we lost. it was not our team
Your best can never be good enough if you failed. Next there will be prayers and statements but no activity to address any performance matters. What a nation!
