Civil Society Organizations reject apology offered by PF’s Miles Sampa over black Friday attack

BOGOCA 3

The Consortium of twelve Civil Society Organizations championing the Black Friday campaign has described the apology by Patriotic Front Matero Member of Parliament over the brutal attack on worshipers at BIGOCA church in Lusaka last Friday as a crocodile apology that does not hold water.

Spokesperson of the consortium Macdonald Chipenzi says for the apology to be accepted, the PF should go further in ensuring that all the thugs who were involved in the brutal attack are brought to book.

Mr. Chipenzi has also described the twenty million kwacha donated to BIGOCA church by Mr. Miles Sampa as fooling the church.

Mr. Chipenzi has argued that there is no way Mr. Sampa can make a donation to the church after what happened as doing so showed that the PF was only seeking to make peace with church and not regretting what the alleged PF thugs did.

He has also stressed the need for the Patriotic Front to allow people in the country to freely assemble and express their view as Zambia is a Democracy.

    • Let them return the donation then will know that they mean business otherwise, it is politics at it’s best.

    • Don’t return the money in the PF spirit of Don’t Kubeba but please insist that the PF thugs and their sponsors like this corrupt Miles Sampa are charged!

    • YOU HAVE NOW PROVED WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU. THAT NICK HAS NO DICK AND THAT ITS NOT ABOUT PAPERS ?

    • @mushota.
YOU HAVE NOW PROVED WHAT WE HAVE BEEN TELLING YOU. THAT NICK MEANS NO DICK AND THAT ITS NOT ABOUT PAPERS ?

    • Mr Chimpanzee, what else do you want Miles to do? Miles has said sorry, and as an african son, he has given some money as a sure way of saying sorry but you want Miles to arrest the thugs. Miles is not a Police officer. On the part of Miles, he is humble enough to say sorry and not just words but even in action with 20 pin. Learn to appreciate what others are doing before you continue condemning Miles. The donation is timely because it is for sorry and Miles is right.

  1. Only 3 people demonstrating ati Consortium of 12 NGOs. Let’s be serious! Andrew and Chipenzi are just seeking cheap publicity. O appease their financiers. Lost cause if I must say.

  2. YES! The rejection can only be the right thing to do… and miles sampa must go and get back his Kr20,000.

  3. True, the donation was ill-timed; as if to buy the hearts of the wronged church members- whether or not it should have been extended to all groups. It shows that the politicians can do anything as long as they get some money from the Govt coffers to pay to quieten the offended; boaders on corruption! Poor judgement on the part of the church accepting and the MP giving. Ribbish!

    • Mr KBM, Miles Sampa was honest enough to say sorry and indeed, things were not good hence the sorry was accompanied with a token. This is the way it is done in the African spirit. But as for you who have lost the culture of an African, you think otherwise. Miles is right and the donation is timely. It is meant to say sorry.

  4. What else can the MP do if an apology cannot be accepted? Start crying! Ensuring that the so called thugs are prosecuted is not the issue for PF but the Police. Since you were there you must equally assist the police to investigate the issue and not be seen to be on the opposing side. But BICOCA accepted the apology

    • Are you a sick Moslem who believes in blood money? The Church should keep the money in the spirit of Don’t Kubeba. And the thugs should be arrested and charged!

  5. I do not understand why you people are calling that Kr20,000 a donation. It was not a donation, it was a bribe meant to keep the Bishop as Leader of BIGOCA quiet. Has the Bishop said anything after Sampa’s visit? Nothing!!!

  6. WHETHER THE CIVIL SOCIETY REJECTS APOLOGY OR NOT, THE MONEY WAS RECEIVED AND THAT MEANS A LOT. US THE CHURCH MEMBERS ACCEPTED THE APOLOGY AND WE’LL PUT THE MONEY TO GOOD USE.

  7. Its really shocking for people to beat, harass and intimidate bishops in the house of the Lord. Something is absolutely wrong somewhere. Lets tolerate one another for we are children of God.

  8. IN GOD’S NAME WHAT ARE THE POLICE DOING ABOUT THE THUGGERY THE WHOLE NATION WITNESSED ON TELEVISION?
PERHAPS ALSO THE ZNBC JOURNALISTS WILL ALSO STOP PEDDLING THE PF PROPAGANDA AND LIES WE ARE FED EVERYDAY ON THE NEWS.

  9. Moronic PF is stuck with a complex that keeps haunting them in what they are and what they do. Typical of their action always reflect as one who has taken leave of their senses. When rejected by Zambians, they resort to thuggery, violence and to their shame offer money to clease their yechy and filth. Hypocrisy Miles Sampa and his uncle Sata shown to Zambians will one day put you in hellacious for the nation to know. Your betrayal of common Zambians will not go unpunished.

  10. the motive behind the meeting was bad and this is why they where hammered.Anyway bigoca the owners of the church are not complaining and why should this ka chipenzi be so silly?Forgiveness is the hallmark of christianity and so let ka chipenzi hang if he doesnt want to accept the apology and after all who is he?silly crooks

    • Try forgiveness followed by justice. Even if the church members ‘forgive’ law enforcement still carries on.

Put the Christianity nonsense aside, just for a second.

  11. @2 please we dont nid thuggery and bullies in the modern zambia.so please watch yo laguage.if u want 2 beat pipo jst go on and beat yo own parents.
The money that was donated is called ‘ichinke mukofu’, in vernacular.
And the apology was timely and befitting after that incident.
So Mr chimpezi if u cant accept the goodwill 4rm hon Miles sampa tell whoever recived the money 2 give it back.
Lets wait 4 the outcome of the investigations. we were equally not happy with the conduct of thoz hippies.

  12. Am not in the support of what transpired especially that it was in church. But i guess the man has apologized coz thats his area,if he kept quiet you were going to blame him for keeping quiet since he is MP for matero.

    • We don’t have an issue with his apology, we are just insisting that law enforcement follow through. Since when did an apology cancel out the need to arrest and bring criminals before a court of law?

Giving a “donation” at this time points to bribery and interference with a witness – which is against the law.

  13. Don’t realise that for police to arrest some one they need permission from pf top brace. Its now regrettable to note that zambia police is extended arm of pf party.

  14. if they didn’t apologise so many nasty things could hv bn said. well……….. zed politics not something to admire.

  15. At BIGOCA. What a name!!!Church should stop meddling in politially sensitive issues.Let politician battle for political power. Even under any government such things will be there. Those chaps are sponsored by the opposition and not PF.We are not violent. It is UPND employing Mapatizya formula. The Luangwa accident was caused by them as well so that they have a sympathy vote.Since when did HH got support in Luangwa? That was MMD stronghold followed by us PF and we are winning.Chikubabe wanya

  16. THERE WAS NO GOD THATS WHY THE DEMONS WHICH WAS IN THAT GATHERING WAS SURPASSED BY THOSE TEACHERS OF LESSON DEMONS AS THE ALL THING WAS POLITICS. WHAT CAN YOU TELL US.

    • It is the first time in the history of Christianity in Zambia to hear black Friday being conducted in the church building. rumor has it that those youths disrupted the gathering because they did not approve of the meeting to be conducted in their church building, especially that black is usually associated with the devil. No wonder the bishop him self confessed that the two boys referred to him as ” a ba nibamudala” so they did not touch him.

    • @mengo
So you think the thugs were there to protect the sanctity of the church?

You are so naive it’s almost funny. Come on, use the brain that God gave you.

  17. Let this matter rest, GOD is never mocked. Another thing anyone that blatantly disrespects GOD’s house of worship shall need repentance and fast or the shall pay dearly. ” it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the LORD.”

    • No, the people should not let it rest. A crime was committed -in a church – with lots of witnesses- and you say let it rest?

      Grow some balls

  18. sAMPA IS NOT WRONG…. KWATHU AKAMBA KUTI ANAGWIRA NKHUKU NDI KUPATSA OMULAKWILAYO….. MEANING THAT HE (SAMPA) ACCEPTED THE WRONG DOING OF THE SO CALLED PF THUGS….GAVE SOMETHING TO THE AGREEVED PERSON…

    • Wrong. A court of law decides the manner and amount of compensation.

This was hush money. How can you not see that? As another person said, the bishop has not been heard from since.

  19. LET THEM GO TO HELL IF THEY DONT ACCEPT THE APOLOGY.wHY DIDNT REJECT THE MANEY FROM SAMPA IMMEDIATELY IT WAS GIVEN TO THEM???ATI SONSOTIUM OF NGO?

  20. But Mcdonald Chimpanzzee. What do you want with this govt.Resign from your NgO and join politics. You are so irritating anyone can now beat you …we want peace to prevail. The issue of SUBSIDIES is dead its water under the bridge.SHUT UP!

Did you Want Miles to cry or give you KR 500.000. if someone wronged you and comes forward and gives something in form of money regardless of the amount it shows remorse of some action done. And if a consortium of churches cant forgive who else will forgive who.I THINK ITS TIME I BECOME I MUSLIM.CHRISTIANS HAVE BECOME HYPOCRITES AND TREACHEROUS.

  21. forget the NGOS. Real Christians will accept thhe apology. My request to all churches not to allow protest meetings in their churches. But should allow mediation meatings where all opposing parties are invited. A case in point is like the one at the cathdral which brought multiparty politics.

  22. I cant believe the so-called pastor accepted the money, thats blood money. Judas escariot had blood money that led him to hang himself…..take it and throw it in their den
