Can Renard stake win on Sudan?

Share

Chipolopolo take on Sudan in Saturday’s Group D 2014 World Cup qualifier in Ndola hoping to maintain their status at the top of the pool.

The match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium is expected to be a grudge after Sudan lost three points off Zambia for fielding an ineligible player in the reverse fixture on June 2, 2012 in Khartoum.

Sudan convincingly beat Zambia 2-0 but FIFA penalized them for fielding defender Saif Ali who was serving a suspension from the 2012 Africa Cup and who also scored his sides’ second goal in that first leg home game.

Meanwhile Chipolopolo take on Sudan motivated after thumping Lesotho 4-0 in last weekend’s Group D match in Ndola.

Sudan on the other hand were thrashed 3-1 by Ghana just 24 hours earlier on June 7 in Omdurman .

A win for Zambia in Ndola would keep them at the top of Group D ahead of the final match against Ghana in Kumasi this September.

Herve Renard’s team sits on 10 points, one above the Black Stars; while Lesotho are on two points and bottom placed Sudan have one point.
The Black Stars are away to Lesotho on June 16 in their penultimate Group D match, 24 house after Zambia host Sudan in Ndola.

  1. Zambia will beat Sudan .. With 3 goals .. But this will just activate the rear tires to move at 4 wheel drive that we need in Ghana .. Who will also cruise to a win in Lesotho with no problem.. So am ok with 3 goals but I ll be more happy with a 1-1 in Ghana .. Score first and defend for life bcz they ll score a goal rrgardless what ..

  2. Though this game may not be as easy as the last, Zambia can post a positive result over the Nile Crocodiles. A great deal, though, will depend on who Renard plays in this must win encounter.I hope that he picked up lessons in that game.
In the game against Lesotho, Zambia played like two different teams. In the first half, the team struggled to piece together some passes until Katongo orchestrated that pass that allowed Jacob a clear sight on goal to score the first goal.In the second half, well, it was classic football.
In todays encounter, a compact defense, creative midfield plus and a hungry and precise frontline will wrap the day for us. Quick goals will relieve them of the pressure and that will make the Nile Crocodiles swim with hand brakes on. Good luck!

  3. Zambia – 1, Sudan – 4
I know what l am talking about, Zambian players will still be resting on their laurels, with a feel good feeling of last weekend’s win. They will only wake up in the final moments of the game when it will already have been lost, mark my words! lsn’t it Zambian culture to behave like that? Wasn’t it that feeling that got us embarassinly kicked out of Afcon recently? No worrior spirit at all! Any way good luck, but my prediction still stands. You are free to criticize,as l am!

when you receive pop-ups, just ignore them until the obscured game becomes clear and watchable.

  5. In da reverse fixture,it was 2-0 in favour of da Crocodiles-but thanks 2 Fifa for da 3 points they gave us…….even if it’s an encounter full of grudges,we can’t fail 2 humiliate da Crocodiles as we learnt a lesson from da reverse fixture.Go Zambia Go!

  6. in ghana where zambia n ghana will play their match is call kumasi. Ghana has not lose a match over there since football came to settle in africa. zambians should prepare for four goals to nil. kumasi is ghanas home base. God live there.
