Renard-We have no excuse

Share

Coach Herve Renard says Zambia have no excuse for allowing visiting Sudan to hold them to a 1-1 draw in the 2014 World Cup qualifier in Ndola on Saturday.

Renard said Chipolopolo have to blame themselves for failing to beat Sudan at home.

The draw against Sudan has dimmed Chipolopolo’s dream of making their debut at the World Cup next year.

“We are frustrated, but it is our fault. We don’t have any excuse we failed today we drew 1-1.

“We conceded a stupid corner (that resulted in Sudan’s equaliser), we made one mistake in the game,” he said.

After the draw against Sudan, Zambia leads Group D of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on 11 points, for at least 24 hours before second placed Ghana take on Lesotho away in Maseru on Sunday.

The Black Stars have 9 points while Lesotho and Sudan have two points apiece.

  1. Herve is not a good manager…a good manager is one who’s able to keep his players level headed and motivated all the time.

    • He isn’t Our hopes only lie on the boys going there to die a little. Besides Ghanaians know we are their jinx team. That’s why they are psyching themselves up with prophetic announcements. They might just over psyche themselves into jitteriness

  2. @Matandor..which one is better give us options at least some body who has delivered in Zambia with africa cup. We want to change right away.

    • You are still stuck in the past hence the reason you still tolerate these corrupt incompetent empty suits at Football House. You seem to assume that you owe them a favour yet its the other way round, modern football is about results not past achievements or past footballing careers. Zambia won AFCON 2012 because we were underdogs and the other teams never took us seriously….you tell us how many teams HR has beaten after lifting the cup. The 2012 champions going home in the group stages of AFCON 2013 is laughable to say the least.
The problem with Zambian fans is that they have short memories after every win they blindly assume all is fine.
      WAKE UP FOR CHRIST’S SAKE!!!

    • By the way any average manager would have won that Cup in that setting ie Gabon where our heroes fell and any young team would be equally motivated under those circumstances and those near misses the opposing teams hit. This is why I always say that the fallen heroes won us the AFCON 2012 cup not your great king or HR who are forever bleeding taxpayer’s money.

    • Jay jay you forgot to give any analysis but only gave us assumptions, please help us to understand sober analysis, especially if you watched the match. If you have not watch icipolopolo recently especially yesterday’s match then please keep your assumptions.

  4. Jay Jay stop talking nonsense. Zambia played one game in Gabon so what was inspiring them into winning 4 games in Eq Guinea?. We all want to think we are very wise when analysing the past

  5. the match between Italy and Mexico was world class football any of those two teams would ve beaten england by a huge margin. I say coz zambians worship ancient EPL football so much. Where in the world ve u seen a top nation team been coached by a foreigner. Zambians change, now that the economy is hard why pay full bouguer to watch the likes of norwich, fulham etc. Stop being colonial minded.

  6. fire H.R. they guy has run out tactics, bring in zambians like wedson and fighton let them share the money H.R is geting he is being paid for nothing . people ask youself we had 03 points mahala were are they now ? the buck falls on H.R & KALU .

local is laka look at GHANA, NIGERIA ETC. DO YOU THINK THE STANDARD OF PLAY WE SO ON SATURDAY IS THE PLAY YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE AT THE WORLD CUP. THAT IS A BIG JOKE . PLAYERS WE HAVE BUT WTHE MODERN TACTICS ARE LACKING THE GAME WAS OFPRIMARY SCHOOL TEAM STANDARD PERIOD FIRE H.R IF PEOPLE INCHARGE FAIL TO ACT THEN THEY GET ACUT FROM HIS PEAKS PRIOD

  7. The good thing is H.R Knows the style of football played by Ghana recall he’s been there trainer before coming to coach chipolopolo so what ever game plan they will formulate hes gonna do something to kill it so that the boys can put pressure to score goals. So far in all the encounters Zambia played with Ghana,Zambia has been able to snatch a goal against Ghana..doesn’t that tell a story?
