Sata has not officially started grooming anyone to take over from him-GBM

President Sata with DR Guy Scott at Statehouse 4

Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba told party cadres in Mongu that Mr Sata would be the sole Patriotic Front (PF) presidential candidate in the 2016 race.

Mr Mwamba was speaking in Mongu when he addressed scores of PF cadres that welcomed him at the airport in the company of Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu during the tour of the province.

The Defence minister said it would be “stupid” for any PF member to start thinking that they would replace President Sata on the ballot paper in 2016 when he has a lot of time on his watch to run up to 2021.

Mr Mwamba said President Sata deserves another term, which he is constitutionally entitled to, in order to complete implementing all his campaign promises of reducing poverty and creating jobs.

[pullquote]“At the moment we are not ready…he hasn’t yet started grooming who should take over from him because it is too early. Twenty-four months in office we want to start campaigning for President? That is being stupid.”[/pullquote]

“How do you expect President Sata to execute and implement all his campaign promises in five years?” Mr Mwamba said. “It is impossible. We have to give him another term after five years in opposition.”

He added that there was no need for some PF members to start campaigning for President and advised all PF supporters in Mongu to rally behind President Sata, who is already taking development to Western Province by building a university and a stadium that will create thousands of jobs in the province previously neglected by preceding governments, according to Mr Mwamba.

Mr Mwamba said the succession subject must be handled with caution because President Sata has not officially started grooming anyone to take over from him when he finally decides to retire.

“At the moment we are not ready…he hasn’t yet started grooming who should take over from him because it is too early. Twenty-four months in office we want to start campaigning for President? That is being stupid.”

    • GBM – Just go straight to the point. Tell Kabimba to stop using the PF Party as a springboard to becoming Head of State. He’s unelectable even with the PF.

Kabimba did not contribute anything to the PF, was not there from inception, and just needs to be fired altogether! Let them form the post party….

    • I am developing a feeling that things might indeed not be too well for presido, these succession fights are a sign of smoke, soon we will see fire burning….

    • @ OLDRugsOUT – Are you sure Kabimba didn’t contribute anything to PF. As Secretary General of the Party he was responsible for engineering the organisation of the PF into one that won them the 2011 elections. There is no one among senior members of PF who can claim to have contributed more than the other, apart from the President himself because he actually formed the party and everybody else just joined. As citizens we must get away from shallow childish analysis that is based on whom we like. I’m not saying I favour anybody, but it just disturbs me to be reading shallow analyses that are obviously based on favouritism or even tribalism. It is .s.t.u.p.i.d.

    • Mulupa – I repeat Kabimba did not contribute anything to the Party. No Financial resources watsoever because he was broke. No Legal advise whatsoever coz he himself is a Legal liability.

Not only legal advise the guy fails to bring any MPS or meaningful votes from his home village or neibouring sorrounding.

Now a chap like this thinks he can take out Bo Lubinda or GBM out of the PF. He’s just put fire on his Feet. Fire Wynter Kabimba PLEASE GBM.

  1. Our president did not attend the SADC Heads of States Summit in Malawi! But why? It carries more weight when the president himself attends these important regional bodies meetings, not just delegating!

  2. We know that GBM and Kabimba want to take over. Sata should be very careful with these guys as they pretend to love him but they are just after his position. These guys know the fact that sata may not even finish the term because of poor health and this is the reason they are attacking each other before Sata’s demise. Kabimba calls himself CEO of the part?//???/ is this not the position of the top guy? if this is true Kabimba is fighting for presidence through the part structure while GBM wants to muscle in using ichibululu. Let us wait and see we will know who is behind all this issue.

  3. It is true your observation indicated and the other worry is that when he is out of the country he does not give the country to be looked after by the chola boy but this time I see that he has sent the very chola boy to Malawi to represent Zambia. One thing to admire at.

  4. The triangular race is on. Its Kabimba, Mmembe, Nchito and Masebo in one corner. And in the other corner its GBM, Lungu, etc. In the final corner is Chikwanda , Miles and the other home boys. PF will go the way of the MMD in 2001. There will be splits! The question to ask is what is going on? Why is the President not in a position to stop it or say anything?

  5. Up to 2021 with Sata; not again! We will regress irrecoverably. Imgaine what has not been achieved in the 24 months, on the positives in the campaign, and what has been achieved in on the negatives, budgets, freedom, tribalism, etc, with this driver!

  6. This news, is irritating and is a sign of disorganisation. How do you start campaigning for presidential so early, and what have you sensed in the president when he is still alive and has three years to go. Fyabupuba.

  7. The question that begs to be answered is, who is campaigning for presidency? No one has come out and all we are hearing are accusations

  8. ba great bag of maize(gbm) be real and tell the truth. sata will not even live to see 2016. why talk about second term? zambia people gave you five year term to prove your wolth with the promises you made and now you want to create more lies! very stupid i.diot indeed. all the instruments of power are in your hands so give us development now not in 2021, kwasila

  9. Sata can only groom another sata. What a for Gbm thinking he can run a country. Pf started and will end with Sata.

  10. Pf we want developmental agendas reports not this nonsese! That is why Upnd will overtake you come the next general elections, too much politicking idio-cy.

  11. SUCCESSION WRANGLES RESUME

With the continued deteriorating health of dictator Michael Sata, the ruling PF wrangles have deepened with senior government and party leaders resorting to name calling.

Defence minister Geoffrey Mwamba (GBM) who launched Sata’s ‘2016 presidential re election’ in Kasama about a fortnight ago resounded his statement in Mongu yesterday and called other members campaigning as being stupid.

“We are concerned that our members have already started campaigning two years into government… President Sata is still in power and has not started grooming his successor because he has long way to go,” said GBM.

Earlier last week the cartel holding Sata hostage and intending to have him replaced with Wynter Kabmba described Mwamba and others making declarations of…

  12. Ing’anda ba ikumbwila kumutenge. PF is a house in trouble and that trouble is well understood by those inside it, including GBM and Summer, hence these two know the trouble their house is in.

  13. I see Given Lubinda taking over from Sata as PF President. He’s been on the side lines is a way of protecting hims from all the bruising.

Seen how Kabimba (even though Unelectable), has been bruised beyond recognition. I see GBM being Vice President!!!! Iye we Mmembe and your crocked minions.

    • Don’t wish that to yourself yo. It’s coming sooner rather than later. Sata will ideally want to leave PF to GBM, but may not. GBM will be difficult to market.

He will leave the party Presidency to Lubinda and keep GBM close to look after his interest. Just watch

  14. It is not up to Michael Sata to groom his successor. Let all those with balls and leadership skill stand up and show their courage. The time for wamuyaya is gone!

  15. I sure would make one good president! Am actually thinking of persuing my political ambitions, should it come to that point were am chosen as Zambias first female leader, i would make sure Zambia reaches the status of the developed world in less than five years, all children would be in schools not on the street or somewhere working, i would protect their plight as both children and humanbeings. i would also erect equal rights at work places btwn women and men, water would flow in every home, i would demolish all the shanties and erect modern structures, no street vending overal, heathcare would be superb, education would be matched with that which i have attained here, libraries packed with books, modern technologies, i would start a scientific shool for future scientists in Zambia.

    • CONTD:
I would also make sure that farmers get neccessary help they need in order to feed zambia year in year out. A muziek school would be built in every province, aswell as museums, Tribalism would be a crime just as racism is but more punishable five years in prison with hard labour! i would also make sure that the country is well balanced with different personel from various tribes so as to do away with tribalism. i would make sure that jobs given to foreigners are only at phd levels or university, nothing lower than this, i would also introduce exchange students. I almost forgot, our elderly would receive free medical care and so sure i would build old homes for our older people so they die in peace and diginity, exconvicts would go straight to vocational homes instead of the…

  16. CONTD: Corruption would be by all means rooted out and those found wanting would be shipped to an island in Zanzibar where i would buy an island specifically for die hard criminals, murderes would also be shipped there with a one way ticket!
So far so good, i sure would make one hot president with brains, my fellow zambians, do you all dream of such a country or atleast anything close to this? should we all get to the next century with the same old sh****t? I wish we would work and stand together as zambians, too bad this is just a dream i have for zambia i wish it would one day come true. As for the next successor in case something happenned to HMC, well, right now there is non, maybe, he is not yeat born!

  17. Vote for Cindy!!! Her manifest is simply writing itself. Go girl we await the official party name.

    a few suggestions:

    1. Diaspora Think Tank People’s Party (DTTPP)
    2. We Are In Government to Develop Zambia (WAIGTDZ)
    3. Old Farts Out New Zambia In (OFONZI)
    4. …….

    • Hhehehehehhe Dot Com you have made me laugh, i think anything is possible, with the way things are going, i see no way out for our people, same trend and old rule of law or worse, a few icing on the tip of the cake but all in all, Ribbish!
I like your suggestions give me more please.

  18. … come on people! we live in the Internet age and most of our so called leaders are weary of the Internet age. It’s a powerful tool of progressive change. Let’s rally behind a forward thinking young lady to bring awareness to the incumbent government that the real wind of change is blowing their way, it’s inevitable, it’s ghastly and will spare no one in its wake. It’s the real wind of better change. Mind you! We sponsored our own education to reach these heights. No use of Zambian tax payers money. Names please for our new party Led by Cindy!!

  19. Something is wrong about Sata’s endorsements, the exchange of words among PF top leadership tells more than what we know. Chuumbwe, GBM and Kabimba are surely upto something… Lets stay sober and watch…

  20. Mwamba, we have not forgotten Sata ‘s 90 days promise! It’s been 2 yrs, the only thing we have seen your boss do well is firing and hiring lol.

    • Hello, that is all that ailing president is capable of doing , firing his enemies and hiring his banja of relatives and not forgetting making medical trips abroad that he so condemned others from doing. Reality check for those who voted for this party of cons and this man, its time to NOT vote for him in 2016 PLEASE! Enough already of this PF drama.

  21. Kabimba is better than GBM as a prospective president. By the way this PF in fighting over plot one is suspicious. Aren’t these the people who said HH and Nevers want Sata to die? Look who’s talking!

  22. My own opinion is that looking at the age of one micheal sata the man needs a rest.He has served this country deligentelly it’s tym he calls it quits.

  23. If they are accusations then where is this tendency of saying “PF members have indorsed Micheal Chilufya Sata for 2016”, be vigilant and this is a sign of the Pool finishing. PF ever since its formation has never gone for an a conversion since no one has ever spoken out to say I shall contest with the president.
All this means power failing. Fyabupuba.

  24. Surely this lot has nothing to offer Zambians in terms of service, all they do is promote their egos and treacherous ambitions for the presidency. The whole gang stand no chance come 2016.

  25. Didn’t the besieging of State House and ZNBC not give away GBM’s plot 1 intentions. Moreover, that gave away the PF’s secret war against itself. Wasn’t that meant to blockade some PF top brass from making pronouncements. Things are not well in PF’s top brass. No wonder, then, Chikwanda was talking about the evils of politicking at the expense of development. Every one of these guys is talking in parables nowadays. But we all know one sure thing: a house divided shall not stand but shall surely FALL. Yes, indeed, the writing is on the wall.
