Calls to ascertain President Sata’s fitness to rule unfounded- Zambian Voice

Share

A Non Governmental Organization advocating for human rights and justice, Zambian Voice has described as uncalled for calls by the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) that independent doctors carry out medical tests to ascertain whether president Michael Sata is fit to rule the country.

Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says it does not make sense to institute a group of doctors to ascertain the health of the republican president as he is not bed ridden.

Mr. Tayali notes President Sata has been already seen in public walking and therefore he clearly does not need to be subjected to such a treatment.

Mr. Tayali has advised the UPND to instead concentrate on matters that will help improve the lives of the people in the country as opposed to making unnecessary calls which may end up alarming the nation.

The Zambia Voice Executive Director was speaking in an interview with Qfm.

    • Iwe katayali the president is sick . He needs to be relieved of his duties so he can rest . Otherwise BY ‘s funeral was a potential rehearsal for UKWA’s funeral in the coming months. I doubt if he will finish the conference in Livingstone. Mark my words.

    • @Saulosi,
I see you are a PF cadre. Perhaps that’s why you are always blogging first. To try and kill an anti-PF story. When Sata insisted that Mwanawasa be examined, he was not bed ridden. Levy was forthcoming about his health issues and never snicked out of the country for treatment. The problem with partisanship is it makes one myopic. They can’t see the other side of the argument. I am not the Nostradamus with the Aemrican flag, I am the real one.

    • IF HE IS FIT,WHY LEAVING THE COUNTRY IN SECRET, WITHOUT INFORMING THE NATION?TAYALI, HOW MUCH HAVE YOU BEEN PAID TO SAY THIS RUBISH?

  1. The problem with health issues is that they can affect anybody. I can bet that with hindsight MCS regrets some of the things he said about the late Mwanawasa’s health status vis-à-vis his position as Head of State. It is a lesson that everyone especially opposition leaders should learn from.

  2. The simplest thing to do is to prove the critics wrong; get the Doctors, and prove that he is fit through the demanded medical fitness test. Unless if there is something that is beng hidden!!!!

  3. WANZELU ulibenzelu! You cannot subject a president to medical tests when he is able to perform his duties as a president. If you think Sata is sick I think HH is more sick in than Sata.It is HH who needs medical examination at Chainama because he hallucinates that he is popular.HH and his minions are the ones who need urgent serious medical examinations because they are dreaming about the impossibilities. We all know who HH is and what he stands for.The man is super selfish and power hungry that it will be a very big mistake to elect him as president of Zambia. We will all regret it if we put this man in plot 1.People should not be cheated that HH can run Zambia better than Sata.Mark my words!! Mazoka had a vision for Zambia,HH has no vision and is directionless!!

  4. Iwe ka tayali read the constitution. The president doesn’t hv t b bedridden to constitute a board to examine him. Ala. bukopo vi Bemba. Ncito nikuiba

  5. Ba Tayali, not been bedridden or seen walking is not reason a person would not be fit to hold office of President. A man of unsound mind though physically fit can and should be made to leave office. And am not saying our President is not fit but just to clarify your flawed argument.

  6. Mugabe was sworn in again what is the sense of voting for someone who is about to go six-feets under or who meant suffer from dementia? looK WHAT IS HAPPENING with Sata is the same…the dude is old and even during elections he was old….damn zambia don´t you have young chaps with a sharp brain to be president…please spare me from Lungu,GBV-dude and this cold-weather dude…how old is HH? I do that job myself I guess but with 28years am to young and too hot for plot one

  7. WHY IS GBM COMMENTING ON SUCH SILLY

ISSUES AS THE HEALTH OF THE HEAD OF STATE?

ONE MOMENT, HE TALKS ABOUT RIFFRAFFS.

THE NEXT MOMENT HE TALKS ABOUT

    THE PRESIDENT’S HEALTH.

    WHATS NEXT, MR GBM?

  8. It’s not a secret anymore that he is not well and his condition is affecting his ability to carry out his duties. We also want to know how much of tax payers money he has gobbled up for his treatment since taking office. State house should not be used by aspiring leaders as free unlimited health insurance while the country goes in to free fall and auto pilot. Zambian people seriously need to be aggressive when voting these politicians in to office. Vote them out by a majority so they don’t have the excuse of rigging.

  9. stop talking about MC his here to stay. please u region part oganise y ka part and make my words even if he dies today u never tamwakateke ba fikala thats God made u feel coz he knew ati mwalitupisha small tribe.

  10. Upnd ,yo hate for Sata and the Bembas whom you always accuse of stealing when you cannot substantiate that will cost u alot. Who would like to be hated like this?Unfortunately this is being perpetuated by the educated. Yo hate has confused u.

  11. U now want to appeare as tho u cared so much about levy so as to win that tribal symphathy from wherever he come from? Political underweights indeed. Sata called for that when Levy was in hospitals first in the uk and the other one in france.

  12. The country is moving on and u say it is not moving ? Whom do u want to deceive? Only gullibles like u. U create lies repeatedly using them, they become gospel truth to u. Upnd be truthfull . Mumba has seen dat yo approach to politics is childish.

  13. Guys it does not mean that when one is old then he is going to die soon. Every one has to die young or old. Leave the President alone.
