President Sata warns UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema

Government is fully aware and prepared to thwart planned illegal activities being schemed by the opposition UPND in two named Copperbelt towns, President Michael Sata has warned.

Mr Sata cautioned United Party for National Development leader Hakainde Hichilema against engaging in activities intended to frustrate production in the mining sector.

He urged Mr Hichilema to utilise already laid-down channels of engaging in dialogue with the Head of State, to address issues of national concern instead of promoting anarchy and lawlessness.

“As elected representatives of the people, the Patriotic Front Government will not sit idle and allow frustrated, unpatriotic and bitter politicians engage in premeditated acts of sabotage,” he said.

The President said this in a statement released by State House Special Assistant for Press and Public Relations, George Chellah in Lusaka today.

“Let them be warned that we will not take kindly to these desperate and cheap attempts they plan to embark on under the guise of political recruitment and party mobilisation. We are ahead of them and will apply the law accordingly,” he said.

He advised Mr Hichilema to embrace nation building, unity and development in his quest for public office.

He said lawlessness and anarchy did not have room in Zambia, where sufficient progress was being recorded in terms of governance and development especially under the ruling party.

“Since assuming office, this Government has left its doors open to dialogue on many national issues and has further established platforms and processes through which various issues are being addressed.

Therefore, we expect the opposition to utilise available channels of communication instead of resorting to desperate schemes with the potential to negate development,” he said.

Mr Sata guaranteed that Government would not depart from its commitment of upholding the fundamental tenets of democracy, good governance and the rule of law as espoused in the PF manifesto.

    • PF are very lucky that the opposition comprises a tribal HH, a lost Nevers, a playful Edith (like ba Winter/Wynter) and a PF Chipimo……

      Very lucky.

    • You can’t convince a PF Laptop Cadre in the name of Saulosi. He is a die-hard one-track minded fellow who will feed on anything PF. Here he is not seeking logic in his partisan politics. In as far as he is concerned Sata has spoken. Totally brain-washed. Watch all his blogging–pathetic for a person calling himself learned. He is the one who rushes to character assassination, attacking people like Field Ruwe for their opinions. Don’t engage in cheap rhetoric and fibs. You can’t be a know it all, sometimes succumb to rational thinking.

    • Junior Nostra, how have you been, how is school? I hope you paid tuition fees, ubwalwa iwe. I made mistake to send on Thursday.

    • Good for you as for me I willl because under his leadership we have seen a lot infrastructure development as a key indictor of a successful leader. For your own info the international community is happy with PF govt. The enemy of the state like you who had lobbied for sunctions against our lovely country Zambia has failed.Congrats mr President and cheers from overseas

  1. I hope the dude will take this as timely warning. We don`t take kindly to alarmists/pessimists like him who try to take advantage of peoples gullibility.

    • @High Speed Black Mama …typical of Zambians. When they fail to debate they resort to insults. It is quite sad actually. These are just politics ,don`t get worked up too much.Anyway am out of here.I gat more important things to take care of.Bless you brother.

    • Saulosi, your president is just rumbling nonsense.
“We are ahead of them and will apply the law accordingly,” he said. Who is we? Oh…the party and its government + the Chibesakunda led judiciary. In what structure does the executive or the ruling party have the authority to apply the law? HH surely must have shaved his head to give this goofball a feat!

    • @saulosi
The only person who took advantage of Zambians’s gullibility is Ukwa and his stooges. Sata is again hallucinating over HH why? HH has never issued a statement this Ka ***** Chella is referring to in this misplaced article. The statement about recruitment on the CB was issued by Chipimo another PF sponsored party leader. If in doubt dig the LT archives and you will discover that HH has nothing to do this statement in question.
This is typical of Sata’s aggression displacement. It seems HH is the only opposition leader whose punches are effective. Even when he has not said anything, Ukwa hears his voice warning him saying Haleisa Haleisa.Even the PF cadres have started chanting Haleisa Haleisa . People tired of the PF lying big time.

  2. @soulosi
thats firing a gun in the air with an false target and fabricated purpose cause by unknow fear!!
HH has NO chance to schem anything on the copperbelt .. that PF STROGEST HOLD!,, if people on the copperbelt raise against PF then its because of their failed promises NOT HH!!

  3. The president is trying to divert attention from the real issue, that of indiscipline in his party and failure to lead.

  4. Hahahahahaha please no one is buying that crap not even pf cadres will by that we all know you are doing the shift blame thing that only works in marriages where an old man is married to a young woman not in reality those games don’t work please chella the problem is in pf and znbc with Effie

    • Has HH written to the President to have a audiance with him? NO HH will not succeed THROGH that how many times has he lost in an election? HE HAS A DUTY TO PROMOTE THE AFFAIRS OF THIS NATION AND HAS A BLESSING FROM ABOVE.HH wait for 2016 to prove your popularity as for now we are behind HE MC Sata

    • It looks 99% of Zambian bloggers are party cadres.

WHY…….no one talks sense on these online publications.

REASONS why they don’t talk sense?
      1.tribal
2.An owlful lot of cadres background is that of street kids…scavengers who stop at anything to make ends meet no matter how risk something is.They have no sight for the future.
      3.Poorly educated.
      4.No moral fiber.
5.They are thieves and thrives or take advantage of instability in the country to lobby for money from disgruntled politians.
      Add more…..

  5. kekekeke ati ‘we are aheading of them’ but kwena power is bad Sata is blinded by the vasty and beauty of state house. can someone slap him!!

Sata is acting like villager boy given a remote control seated infront of plasma screen

  6. hahahahahahahaha……………………………….this chela 1diot thinks threats are what constitutes authority. wait until you start speaking from katondo street. be kind to people on your way up ‘cos you will need them on your way down’. your way down is certainly not very far from now, so be reasonable in what comes out of that supposedly filthy laden mouth

  7. Can somebody tell me exactly what the president is talking about, Has OP data shown him that HH is becoming popular or something, just this morning he blasted his Ministers over hakainde. something is not right here

  8. There is no fairness in this aticle, what did HH SAID ANWAY.AND HOW CAN WE DEBATE WITHOUT HEARING FROM BOTH. WHETHER U LIKE IT OR NOT GOD IS IN CONTROL HH’S DAY IS COMING. I LEST MY CASE AND GATE OUT OF HERE.

  9. Poor me. PF has completely lost it. They are now running away from their own shadows. Hahaha Hohoho…. HH just keep your cool. We are behind you. PF will certainly lose in 2016 if not much earlier.

  10. Life is a repetition, i have seen this movie before and i know how it’s gonna end!
For now i shall change the channel let me know when the bad guy struggles through his last words and the good guy does his hunk move as he walks away, good luck guys and enjoy the sinking of the ship or is it docking? am not revealing you should judge for yourselves.

  11. Mr president if you know what HH is planning on CB just let him attempt and sort him out instead of making him popular with your unwarranted pronouncement and threats. You are head of state just act swiftly. We want proper planning that leads to development.my president consult widely its key and avoid getting your eyes of the paper.

  12. Haleisa Haleisa, no joke, this is the chant in markets on the copperbelt. Sata is in extreme panic mode coz he now sees his stronghold beginning to slip away. We all know where chants that are taken up as a popular slogan lead to. They lead to major changes. Donchi Kubeba anyone?

  13. #Cind this movie will not end well .
“Even the finest sword plunged into salt water will eventually rust.”
Sun Tzu.Sata only knows how to respond to HH not the issues the nation is facing. It’s very disappointing, from day one it’s been blame games. This is not about PF any more its about the nation and were we are going. Keep on diverting attention from the real issues , time for everything.

  14. nostradamas has put it rightly saulosi will eat anything in is packaged in PF brand including sh**. he will even lick the wrapper and fingers

  15. This hollow talk from state house (no longer State House) is laughable. Who says HH or indeed any other politician in the opposition is not allowed to campaign or recruit members on the Copperbelt? Stop using outdated Second Republic tactics and threats in 2013.

  16. Saulosi & Mushota even a five year old child knows that H.H. is not trible it is just cheap politics.now it is a another accusation not his wealthy,in livingstone it was murder please tell your pf to work forease they are packing.in 2016 we will choose a president.

  17. Dictator Michael Sata has turned Zambian democracy into a laughing stock.Whenever he responds to criticism or any comment from opposition or NGO leaders and the clergy,Sata’s sarcastic language is always bitter and full of hatred. He fails to understand that this country is a multi-party democracy. In September 2011 Zambia was a democracy hence the tripartite elections which enabled him to assume office. Now that Sata is president he wants to destroy the very democracy which was in place before he went in State House .
Hakainde Hichilema is simply exercising his democratic right to participate in politics.Sata has no right to issue threatening statements against the UPND leader.Sata’s misrule has made him very unpopular and he wants to divert attention from real issues affecting us.

  18. The problem is that HH has never been positive about Sata ever since he announced the break-away of the pact with PF. HH will never accept that an old uneducated person in the name of Sata can be his President , he thinks he is better than Sata ,RB and KK all combined hence his language will always vulgar towards these old guys. Its certainly wrong to go and tell miners to strike on the basis that Sata had promised them ‘more money’ in their pockets , its actually economic sabortage which can lead to people rising against the state. Could someone please educate HH , because he seems not to learn of the consequences of his words on radio when he was telling the people of Barotseland that Sata had lied about restoration of the agreement and the results are there for anyone to see

  19. This is very simple bane. HH should try for once to behave like Chipimo. Let the people judge who the best leader is for 2016. Causing confusion wont take us anywhere in this country. Even HH himself can have a problem to rule under difficult circumstances. Elias should seat with HH and share some ideas.

  20. Its HaHa that hates Sata.
Hate it or love it people can see the development.
One thing i hate about HaHa is how they (UPND) chose him after the great Muzoka passed on. “Tuyanda mwana kwesu”, kikikiki, what more when in state house, even monkeys can be tongas.
