Renard has joined French Ligue 1 side Sochaux.

Kalusha said the Frenchman has left a good legacy in Zambia and Africa.

“Herve Renard has left a very good legacy- he has to be proud of himself. Herve Renard was a good worker and honest man,” he told BBC Sport on Monday.

“He was there giving his best, he won the biggest trophy for Zambia today- that is the Africa Cup. When he came no body knew about him but today Herve Renard is a house-hold name and people respect him in Africa,” Kalusha said.

The ex-Zambia skipper welcomed Renard’s decision to join Sochaux.

“I am happy for him that he can go to Europe and establish his career ther

  1. Great Kalu that is civilization. The trend where when one is leaving there are full of insults is primitive. He may not have taken us to World Cup but still gave us what we never had before, that in itself is achievement. Even Alex ferguson never won everything, so is maurinhio.

  2. Long overdue, club football will expose this PE teacher for what he is and the French people unlike us don’t tolerate mediocrity especially at a club like FC Sochaux-Montbéliard which is fighting for relegation and got a good 4-0 battering from Bordeaux at the weekend. HR will be kicked out by Xmas as club football is all about performance and your last game.

  3. I enjoyed the Africa Cup achievement.

We Zambians talk big about great things we should be doing, getting and so forth but lack results to back up our rambling. As a country we really haven’t achieved much in soccer. In my lifetime i only remember 2 crowning events in soccer.

    1. Zambia beating Italy 4.0 in Seoul, S. Korea &
    2. Zambia winning the Africa Cup

Hey that man right there made us proud. Most people have been calling for his head since we failed to qualify for the world cup. Lets see how long it’s going to take for Zambia’s next major soccer achievement.

  4. JJ always talks of negative things all the time, I am assuming that JJ is a loser in life who likes to blame people or always negative because he is a loser, Without Renard Zambia was not going to kiss the Africa cup at all, Zambians what’s wrong with us.

    • Any coach would have won that tournament for Zambia, if he is so good how come he LAMENTABLY FAILED to even win a match at AFCON 2013?

    • Jay Jay is just a clueless arm chair critic. Any soccer analyst or observer will point out that Zambia’s group in AFCON 2013 was tough. All three teams Zambia faced at AFON 2013 (Nigeria, Burkina Faso & Ethiopia) have qualified to the next round of FIFA’s World Cup qualifiers. Renard was a good coach for Zambia regardless of his performance at his new club. Besides, chances are that he will recruit 1 or 2 Zambian players. So give the man credit.

  5. This is directed to the ones commenting ill of Renard…undertake self scrutiny, who among you has achieved even half of what Herve has particularly for mother Zambia? Learn to say ‘Thank you’.

  6. HR was a good coach for zambia ,and i dont think we will win any major cup in the never future . zambias we like critising even wen we know the circumustance that lead zambia lossing to ghana .HR has suceded where our locals failed miserably.goodby HR,best coach in Africa we always remember you in our football history byby.

  7. Lets try our own now!!! Let Lucky Msiska,Keagan Mumba,Lwandamina and Wedson Nyirenda guide Chipolopolo. If Alex Chola and Godfrey Chitalu(M.T.S.R.I P) did it for mother Zambia why cant these guys be given chance also to bring back the lost glory..we used to win with more than 4goal-margin, Cameroon,Congo,Italy,Guatemara to mention but a few were the victims. Lekeni tubweshe icimwela cakale bane.

    • keagan mumba is the best coach to take over the zambia national team reasons he has a better education back ground than certain officials in FAZ

  8. lets try charli cool and lucky msiska not these failures who are failing to coach the local clubs.Look at the standard of the local legue it will help you understand the national team poor perfomance.

  9. Congrats HR, you deserve it. We wish the best. Whether we like it or not you have left a legacy for Zambia. I am proud of you. Blessings.

  10. Thanx congratulations HR wishing you the best in your coaching carrier. Great Kalu now that HR is gone please consider CLIFFORD MULENGA back to the national team he is a great player.

  11. Bolivia its long time Clifford was recalled by Herve and was suppose to be with the team during the Sudan and Ghana games, but unfortunately for him his 3 months old son died.
