Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba has praised Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba for calling on Zambians to give President Michael Sata more time to realise his vision of national development.

Mr Mwamba says Mr Kabimba’s call is in line with views of many Zambians including PF members that President Sata needs ample time to facilitate tangible development to all parts of the country.

He said he felt duty-bound to respond to Mr Kabimba’s sentiments as quoted in the private media because unity-of-purpose was vital to the ruling party.

The Defence Minister said this in Kasama today when he addressed PF members who welcomed him at Kasama Airport.

“I saw what the Post has written today, Mr Kabimba has also agreed. We are now speaking the same language. We only know one president and that’s what we have been saying. We thank you Mr Kabimba wherever you are,” he told a chanting crowd.

He said the endorsement of President Sata started in Kasama and the constituency had not been fighting about it. He said now that President Sata had stopped the endorsement campaign,
there was need to comply with his directive. Mr Mwamba said he has obeyed President Sata’s directive for him to stop the endorsement campaign for the Head of State in the 2016 presidential election.

“President Sata said not now and we have stopped the endorsement campaign,” he said.

He urged PF members in Kasama district to follow suit and concentrate on re-organizing the party structures in the area.

Mr Mwamba further cautioned party members against forming parallel structures, as doing so would be tantamount to indiscipline.

He said it is responsibility of PF officials and ordinary cadres to rally behind President Michael Sata’s leadership in order for the country to attain sustainable development.

    • Its now clear, soon coming amendments to the new constitution, SATA for 2 TERMS of 10 YEARS each or more. Watch this space-Zambians tighten your belts!!

    • What Kabimba is saying in the Post today-has so much in between the lines. Its now clear, coming soon, amendments to the new constitution, SATA for 2 TERMS of 10 YEARS each or more. Watch this space-Zambians tighten your belts!!

    • How do you define “ample time”? Development is something undertaken over years. If the party is guided by a vision and manifesto which is shared by the whole party, that development should be achievable. However, where politics of personalities are at play, everything is at the mercy of the man/woman at the top. I hope ample time falls within the parameters defined in the constitution.

  1. Sata said he would change things in 90 days!!!! How much time does he want? He is out in the next elections. The time belongs to a younger generation (HH) is going to be Zambias next president…..

    • We are not interested even in cutting dirty fingures of yours! HH is the next President. Nobody enjoys the drama from these corrupt, senile old rugs tinkering with our economy and busy stealing as Scott and Kamimba rightly observed!!

    • ba mmk, just preserve that finger for your musterbation, after HH winsvwe will spre you because we know you are speaking out of fear.

    • i agree – we will build a home for the old Gizers and all geriatrics and get Indian Doctors to castrate them! No trips to India for urine bags!

    • That discrimination based on age. Stop it, we are all equal. Its a Human Rights issue. Whether grade 12, graduate, man, woman, working, retired, you name it, anyone is eligible unless by incapacity or if voters don’t want him.

    • Read the statement clearly. Kabimba’s boss (MuMmembe) is being reminded of how PF only has Sata now and in 2016. That’s a slap in there face….

We now await Kabimba being FIRED please.

  2. Head Banger………
What happens should the president pass on? God forbid, you know its just right to be prepared at all times, otherwise, things get messed up most of the times in politics for the are Vampires and Wolves in sheeps skin. Looking at how much fighting has been going on Within one “house”, i wonder if there has been harmony in discussing about the alternative should the unexpected happen? Am just thinking outside the box since everyone seems to be “comfortable and getting along”!

    • @cindy
thats `extreme` thinking outside the box,, ati `what happens should the president pass on?“.. you are speaking mumapinda like someone with inside infor,, do you know when he is dying??

    • @ Ndobo,
Hihihihihi, i dont just get how things work in the Zambian political Arena, i just dont trust that things would be calm as they were when Mwanawase passed on, things are much too tense now, i dont buy this sudden “best friendship” song being played. When i look at the picture in the current Government, i cant pin point who is Presidential material, even if there was, i think too many of them have a hidden agenda.

    • @Cindy
and Yes!! no one arround Sata seems to be material enough to take over from him should the unthinkable happen,, and that may cause PF not last long!!! And most important PF must start delivering NOT depending on media propagada and lies…

At least someone has seen that kabimba cant make presidency after tasting the waters!!!

    • @cindy
that’s the episode that i would really love to watch my dear.and i cant even imagine wat blood shed we would see from those blood hounds.right now they claim there’s peace but hw long is it going to last? cos the volcano is about to erupt

    • @ Ndobo, Ndigiswayo,
Thats just what i dont get…., how does the other members of the party feel about that? In whose interest is MMember running the affairs of PF, is it then true that Mmembe is the president of Zambia? This is so deep and complicated i cant wrap my mind around it, What is actually going on? what happens then should the president become uneligible to rule the nation? What is Mmembe going to do and how has this been allowed if at all its true? How is that even possible are they all puppets? I cant believe it i have so many questions regarding the all Mmembe affair.

    • @cindy,@ndobo
look at it from this angle.when mmembe was fighting RB he was actually fighting micheals battle by strongly decampaingning bwezani with all he has.mmembe is the one who actually made RB to lose popularity here in urban cities cos he exposed the ditry side of RB for the benefit of PF.i believe and strongly believe mmembe and SATA made an agreement somehow that agreement is one that i would love to know.He is not in PF but all the confusion in the party is centered upon him, why?

    • @cindy,@ndobo

    • @cindy
I dont know how in touch you are with zambian politics, Mmembe`s reporting is so biased and twisted in order to manipulated to appear as if he is the one ` who makes it possible for anyone to be president in Zambia`… I`ve known Sata to be man of action and very decisive people,, even when he finds himself in unpopular grounds.. but not any more,, the man is so afraid of Fred mmembe,, thats why the confusion in PF.. and clearly so, kabimba should have been fired or redeployed by now,, knowing the nature of Sata, but not any more… read and follow mmembe`s editorial then observe Sata`s decision making, you`ll see that the man(Sata) seems to be following mmembe`s editorials word for word!! Mmembe even knows whats going to happen tommorow and what Sata is going to say before hand

    • How do you think outside the bid when you have not experienced what is in the box sir Sata has the heart for all Zambians he has done well no one at the moment is pointing any fingure and accuse him of being corrupt this is good

    • @ Ndingiwsayo,
Very interesting episode there, i do not read the post and never followed how the emperor built the walls of PF, otherwise, it would make one Thrilling movie of all times in Zambia, wish i could write the Script.

  3. Ba GBM twalimishiba, you enjoy sebana wikute type of politics, now that you believe sata can not fire kabimba you start praising kabimba’s statements. People are watching, don’t forget sata temunobe!

  4. GBM and Kabimba are pawns in bigger game. Kabimba might still get the coveted seat but it is the kingmaker who is playing the game behind the scene and playing quite well. Expect the unexpected to the utter shock of those who think they made PF or PF will be gone if they are gone. Most of them will leave PF the way late Mwila, Sondashi, Edith, Sata, Humphery , Chitala, late Dean etc. left MMD.

Next presidential elections will be interesting and stage- managed.

  5. gbm is a very dull bag of maize. his schemes are all translucent. only a fo0l cannot see through them. his friend kabimba is more tactical and organized than this power hungry bag of maize. he thinks money will power him to presidency. nonsense. I do not like kamimbya but the way he is dribbling this dull chap is exciting me

    • @matipa
you missed the whole drama big time,,, the problem here is fred mmembe,, take mmembe out of the equation,, you will have no drama in PF!!!

  6. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE
WAY THE SG IS GOING ABOUT IT,
AND THE VILLAGE METHOD YOU WERE
    GOING ABOUT YOUR ENDORSEMENTS.

THE SG IS MERELY ENUMERATING THE
    MANY PROJECTS PRESIDENT SATA’S
    GOVERNMENT IS IMPLEMENTING
    COUNTRYWIDE.

  7. its rare to find a fat person without a high degree of f001ishness.just check any person who is fat and see how styoped he sometimes behave.f001ishnes and fatnes go together.

  8. Mmmmm… But why is GBM being received like a Veep in tax payers’ ZAF planes complete with a military quarter guard salutation and obese old dancing mamas screaming at the Airport?
Yes the man is the Defence Minister, but he is just a Minister like Edgar Lungu and Kambwili. That’s quite a stretch and I don’t definitely get it. As far as I’m concerned, the fight has just began. Don’t be fooled by his praise singing of Kabimba!

  9. WHY DO YOU PEOPLE ALWAYS WANT TO CONDEM??????
GBM is just saying that he is agreeing with Kabimba’s statement. What wrong has he done by stating that? Let us be mature. Some of you condemning are such terrible leaders even in your houses that you drink all your salaries and live on salt and nshima for the rest of the month or even abandon your families. I’m personally happy that there is calmness now and there is no need to be cynical about it. We should be pleased when our leaders are not quarrelling. Some of you like it when there is confusion because you like gossiping too much. Find something to do, that is why foreign investors baletumwenamo fweo maZambians: too much talking, but no work being done!! Men gossip more than women in Zambia – which is a world record!!!

    • @ ganja farmer :

I respect your point of view, but I do not agree it is a progressive one. If PF fails, Zambia fails because this is PF time to run the country and its national government. You and your opposition party cannot claim to love Zambia more than HEMCS does. If anything opposition parties right now are so disorganised so much that any intelligent person will question how they can manage to run a country if they can’t run a party structure! Bikenipo amenshi pamukoshi abena. This is PF governing. Support it for the good of our country – your time will come, although I don’t know when yet.

  10. The post is too one sided in their reporting and editorials. They should open their online comments line so they can know what other people think about their stories just like what LT, WD ZE and TUMF and others have done, if indeed they believe in freedom of speech. All reputable newspapers all over the world have done that, including Zambia Daily Mail by the way. Why should they be the only ones talking and giving opinions. That’s very hypocritical. I don’t know how this message can get to the POST. I’ve tried to send comments but they don’t publish them. Why are they so scared of discussions? I am beginning to think that they are not an indigenous paper and are not serving the broader interests of Zambians.

  11. @cindy,@ndobo

  12. it is good to know MMD has members in PF. Godfrey , keep it up. Our symbol is simple. Pa Nkoloko!!! The our has come again!!

    • IT IS GOOD SEE THAT GBM KNOWS WHERE HE CAME FROM AND STILL KEEPS MMD MEMBERSHIP. keep it up GBM and continue being a dedicated MMD ambassador. The hour has come!!

  13. What do people who were asking for Kabimba’s blood feel now to hear that Sata and Kabimba are one? Sata has done a donchi kubeba on them. I am sure there are so many who must be very disappointed. If anyone thought Sata was was going to discipline Kabimba, they must have their answer now. Sata is not going to discipline Kabimba because they two are one. So GBM eat your lungs. Kabimba has won. Let this be another warning to people like Mangani and Given who are talking about the Zambia Fourth Republic Party that it is Kabimba creation . That strategy will not take you anywhere. Ask Chikwelete . Whoever had any doubts that Sata is under siege, don’t doubt anymore. Sata is spineless as far as Mmembe, Scott, Kabimba and Nchito are concerned. Just watch this space, Sata will continue running…

  14. BA KAAMBA BA GMB keep supporting MMD as always. The hour is coming when all those in PF and UPND will know that MMD is the only solution for ZAMBIA. Keep it up Ba kaamba. The hour has come!!!

  15. GMB have you forgotten the PF symbol so soon? Symbol yesu ni PA MAKA! Not the hour. That symbol died with Chiluba. Mwalatumweneshamo

  16. My great president Michael Sata has effectively shut down GBM and KABIMBA by letting them fight out in the public forums over the seat of future president. Sata still politically savvy.

  17. ZAMBIAN POLITICS AS USUAL. MM’EMBE KNOWS TOO MUCH ABOUT SATA’S ORIGINS THAT IS WHY SATA IS SO MUCH SCARED. HE IS SPINELESS. IF HE ATTEMPTS TO BE FUNNY, FRED WILL FINISH HIM IN A MICRO SECOND. A DOSSIER ON SATA WILL NOT BE PLEASING. HE MAY EVEN FLEE THE COUNTRY FOR FEAR OF BEING ARRESTED.

  18. This is a tactical retreat by WK hoping to pre empty accusations of being interested in the Presidency, except it has come a little too late and his colleagues will watch jis actions kore than his words! !

It may buy him sometime and a few cautious friebds back but he will always be on spotlight. .

As for the so called leaders HH, please spare us the joke, UPND needs both change of strategy and top most leadership in order to realise Zambians just rejected one self-centered individual! !!

  19. It does not matter whether the constitution gives more terms to presidents as long as the right to vote for a candidate of own choice remains and competitors are allowed by law to present themselves to potential voters.

  20. The president should show some authority in dealing with ailing members. If the president fails to act it breeds a lot of of indiscipline not only in their party but in the nation as a whole.I am hopeful he has a plan.

  21. Please, can somebody explain this “vision of national development” and policy requirements to achieve such noble and long overdue goals.
Insofar, apart of general confusion created by Cabinet Ministers and their followers characterized by constant breaches of Constitutional guarantees as to the protection of fundamental rights, only visible policy is the one of lack of direction and purpose coupled with thuggery and stale slogans of KK era.

  22. The people and not politicians should determine if someone is doing a good job or not. How can these two be so certain that Sata will win the next elections after peddling lies on almost everything he says? Unless they have worked out a slick way of rigging? We want leadership not family dynasty.

  23. the weakest link in this matrix is Michael himself.he has stopped them from peddling lies about each other and what do they do?the continue….! the man has gone jelly .I thought the man was decisive and assertive but lo and behold he can’t stop his own dogs from barking.

KK, Chiluba and Levy would not allow such insubordination. They would have cracked the whip leaving no enemies.Insulting ministers and demeaning them publicly shows a lack of ‘political flair’

look at what he is done to Mwamba Emmanuel

  24. Mmembe educated you all on the avenues of politics in this country, if you aspire for political office in this country you should impress Mmembe with nothing but the truth, then you will make it in Zambian politics, but otherwise if you are a dump man from the west, he will spank you on the mid floor. That’s journalistic clout (the movers and shakers). There are many Mmembe’s in this world Jonathan Mann, Christina Amampour etc. Who else and on who’s side has he being on ever since, on the truth side. PF.

  25. what kabimba is saying is exctly the same thing GBM has being saying. For me i feel GBM has won coz he has managed to make Kabimba endorse MC as wel.

  26. I wish to side with those who are saying HH wont be the next president. TRUE the man is always futuristic and condemns Whatever Sata’s Government is doing (mostly good development for this country including S. Province) but offers no alternative to what PF is doing. HH really dreams!
