THE Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia has urged Government to audit all Muslim organisations operating in the country.
Council president Suzgo Zimba charged that some Muslim organisations receive a lot of money from donors but these funds are not spent on the intended beneficiaries.
Mr Zimba said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that such organisations receive money on the pretext that they support underprivileged people but some selfish individuals allegedly invest the funds in their businesses.
“We are asking the Government to audit all Muslim organisations so that we know if the money is being used for intended purposes,” he said.
Mr Zimba said auditing Muslim organisations will ensure transparency and accountability in the administration of public funds.
He also said the council will continue supporting Government in the implementation of programmes aimed at improving people’s living standards.
Mr Zimba further called on the Muslim community in Zambia to continue playing their role of looking after the needy in society.
He also said the council has received US$12,000 from the Dubai Muslim Charity Association and 50,400 euros from a Turkish organisation, Hasene for hosting a four-day Qurban at which Muslims slaughter animals to feed underprivileged people in society.

Yes Zambia was declared a Christian nations but does not mean they dont acknowledge other religions just like in Islamic countries you still find Churches but they declared Islamic state too….. I think the debate from Law Vs English point on the statement one can clarify but no one wants to debate this to accommodate the reality

To start with government should audit this islamic council and next the immigrantion should investigate the nationality of the people running the institution. They are trying to smear genuine organizations with false accussation to win sympathy from the muslim community. They are responsible for most of the confussion in this vibrant but quiet community. Recently they embarked on a mission trying to take over of the mosques that they did not even build resulting in unnecessary squabbles and tension. They do not ve the mandate of all muslims organizations in Zambia to call themselves Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia. They are just a bunch of opportunist bent on deceiving the government and raising false alarm.

@Zero Boyz- there is not a single church in Saudi Arabia. If you are found with a cross, bible or any insignia of Christianity, they take it from you and before your eyes throw it in the dustbin, and that too if you are lucky, otherwise they lock you up for ages.

On Churches in Saudi Arabia, world leaders shall speak for that. If Saudi Arabia wants mosques to be in Christian Nations, then they shall allow Churches to be built in Saudi Arabia.
