Nchanga keep African dreams alive

Share

Nchanga Rangers on Saturday kept alive their hopes of playing continental football next season when they beat Nkwazi 1-0 in a FAZ Super League match in Chingola.

Bornwell Mwape scored the vital goal in this Week 27 tie as Nchanga remained in joint second on the table together with Zesco United who forced a 1-1 at Nkana on Saturday.

Mwape shook the net in the 60th minute with his traditional poweful free kick from outside the box.

Nkwazi had forced a goalless first half before allowing a second half goal.
Fighton Simukonda’s side moves to 51 points, four below leaders Nkana.

And in the earlier match at Nchanga Stadium, struggling Konkola Mine Police thumped Red Arrows 2-0 to move out of the demotion zone.

Hosea Silwimba and Andrew Tapwila scored second half goals to help Mine Police recover from last Wednesday’s 5-0 defeat at Power Dynamos.

Silwimba scored after 51 minutes before Tapwila added the second on 70 minutes.

Mine Police are now 11th on the table with 35 points.

    • All you need to do is beat both Blades and Zesco and pray Nkana lose to both Power and Arrows . Any slip up , you are done even if Nkana lose both games .
Zesco need to beat Zanaco and ( you guessed right ) Rangers also .
WOW ! ! So when all is said and done , the fact that Zesco will play Rangers means that no matter what the combination of results , the worst thing which can happen to Nkana is getting second spot !

  3. Bornwell Mwape is very dangerous! He needs someone to feed him with balls, like Kalandanya (Spacio). We are yet to see the best of him.
