Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba has reacted sharply to sentiments by Vice President Guy Scott that President Sata, Wynter Kabimba and himself are the A-Team of the PF.

Mr Mwamba said it is incorrect to state that there are only three A-Team members of the PF.

Mr Mwamba who is also PF Kasama Central MP said the PF does not have such a thing as the A-Team.

“The only A team in PF is one which comprises all members, including women and youths,” he said.

He added, “As a man of the people, President Sata believes that each and every member is part of the A team.”

Mr Mwamba said the only A Team are those ordinary members who share a common cause to work for a better Zambia.

“So, to PF members, you are the real A Team.”

Dr Scott said at a rally held at Kundamfumu Primary School in Mansa over the weekend that no-one was going to displace President Sata or the secretary general Mr Kabimba from the PF.

“Ignore opposition. There are no in-fights in the party anymore. President Sata, Wynter Kabimba and myself are not going anywhere….no-one is leaving the party. We are the A-Team; we are the ones who won the elections. No-one is going to chase us from our party,” Dr Scott said.

He said when they met in 1990, they agreed together with President Sata that they needed to govern the country and that was achieved democratically when they won the tripartite elections in 2011.

Dr Scott said whatever misunderstandings that had rocked the party have been resolved and things have settled.

The Vice-President, who was in Mansa to drum up support for PF candidate for the forthcoming Mansa Central by-elections Chitalu Chilufya, also urged the people of Kundamfumu to vote for the PF candidate.

    • The truth is that we are clueless on running a country.

      We thought that “Zambia” was about a bunch of radio shows and a collection of insults to RB, Kunda and Dora.

      We now realise that we are runnng a COUNTRY and we’ll try to talk to His Excellency President Fred Mmembe to talk to Ba Sata’s relatives (aka GRZ) to make things better.

      I known the fact that Sata and Kabimba are serious partners in crime and Sata can never let go of Kabimba alive for fear of their crimes being exposed. Guy Scott is just a chola boy who can be got rid of at no cost to the party. That s why Guy Scott can never say anything ill of Kabimba and Sata.

      GBM needs to watch out from now on wards.

      What is happening in PF shows that there is discipline break down. Sata’s vernon is no longer potent. It seems there is a mini riot brewing within PF. If they loose the Mansa seat the cracks will widen.

    Well said GBM. There is so much wisdom in you, which I started admiring the moment you went straight after MuMmembe. Have noticed MuMmembe has now kept his distance.

    If at all there was an A Team in PF, it will be SATA, Dr. CHRISTINE KASEBA, MULENGA SATA and GBM.

GBM is untouchable so as Chikwanda!! Mind you when GBM is fired, he will grab PF secretariat the same way he did with MMD.

    • Finisto – to put you into perspective. Sata knows who the real snakes are, those that are only associated to him because his President now and will be gone tomorrow.

      At the time that MuMmembe was aleniating Sata was refuelling his vehicles for the campaigns from GBM Milling.

      At the time Sata didn’t have a reliable vehicle GBM bought him a Brand New Toyota Landcruiser VX.

  11. Clearly,yesterdays solar eclipse is a metaphor for PF’s place in Zambian politics.The so called A-team is exploiting its position to blind and block the B-team from Zambian voters.Both teams will suffer solar radiation and only the voter will be safe in 2016.

PF doesn’t realize that the template played out by Julia Gilard and Kevin Rudd in Australia is playing out right now in Zed… I hope they won’t be licking their wounds like the hyenas in The Lion King… or even Julia like Kevin did most recently! This is an example of what makes people vote in alternative leadership anyway.

    • The sentiment is great, but unfortunately it’s far from the actual truth. The unpalatable truth is what foolish-Guy said.

      It only Confirms that GBM knows how it should be. Now he’s in trouble he wants to identify with the common people to get them on his (losing) side.

      When did he stop to think of the people when he was awarding himself huge ZESCO contracts and other shady deals?

    I’m loving this A-Team thing. It brings some life and colour into the otherwise dry and boring Zambian politics.

    One thing I recall about the A-Team is that 100 men would shoot at their makeshift vehicle but none of the A-Team members would get hit. And then they would destroy the opposition in only about 3 shots! So watch out HH & co. LOL!

PF has more to lose of they fire GBM. I think Sata needs to wake up and put his party and government in order. We are tired of this in fighting. Zambia needs development and time is running out.   19. No amount of money can save GBM. Mathani is manifold richer than GBM, RB made him crawl on his four legs, who the hell GBM think is? His end is near. FRA, Army and failed Zesco deals will keep him in and out of courts and passport snatched and kept by DEC.

    • The businesses make GBM’s money. Politicians can plug his gravy train with a snap of their fingers. suddenly licenses to trade withdrawn, vehicles impounded, contracts withdrawn etc……you get the picture.

      So in my opinion, no GBM is not untouchable. I think he has clearly been shown that Sata owes him, but also owes the others.

      Don’t force Sata to choose – Northern Province notwithstanding.

  20. Just as I predicted….the wrangles are between Kabimba’s group and GBM’s grooup not Kabimba and Chikwelete! All that show over the weekend was just in vain. It is Kabimba and GBM that need to reconcile. We will wait and see who ultimately wins this WAR not the various battles!

    Mr Mwamba, we hear you and feel you make sense too. But the statement above can only be true if it comes out the concerned party himself, HE M.C. Sata. Therefore, chances are that they is A Team in PF, which you Mr Mwamba you are not part of.

      Vote for him mate. Elections are coming. The rest of Zambia are tired of riff-raffs, no matter how intelligent they sound. Running a country requires more than just being intelligent, you must know how to read and write and think logically. Not another one this time. PF has a lot of educated people to choose from to be president. But, as I say, if you want him just vote for him.

  42. I have a feeling GBM is being cocky and one day he will wake up and not realise what has hit him. All statements so far point to him as the next target, but being an illiterate iguana he can’t read the signs of the times just like Emmanuel and Chikwelete did. All these guys being fired or apologising due to hunger and giving Guy Scott and his group a lot of intelligence about what has been going on. It’s just a matter of time for GBM.

  49. This is the first Party in Government I have come across which is full of internal strife, squabbles, undermining each each etc. When are you going to lead? For sure you were not ready to be in Government.

    The blame lies squarely on the leader at the helm, things are certainly out of control for him. Show leadership and muscle sir, put an end to this otherwise the fighting factions will take you down with them.

    There is even no need for opposition as PF are busy tearing each other apart, perhaps it is for the best of the Country, self-cleansing!

  52. @ Saulosi, are you sure you trust the de facto president from Bwinjimfumu more than the president from Nkwazi house? If you ask me, I dread the guy from Bwinjimfumu, he looks more of a Cosa Nostra boss than de facto president. The catch-22 is, the one from Nkwazi house, now more than ever, looks more of a Tooth Fairy than a president.
    About the A-Team, isn’t Sylvia supposed to be in your team Dr. Scott?

  53. How can a true leader, a vice president for that matter tell the electrolate that they are not part of the A team but only the three of them are? In politics the voters are supposed to be the A team. In short Guy Scott is only using voters to make Sata,Kabimba and himself comfortable, as he has clearly put it, he has no people at heart only himself.

If after 50 years of independence and 22 years into the so-called new dispensation characterised by multipartism, we have failed to come up with a progressive republican constitution, a clearly defined economic policy framework and we are still entrenched into tin-pot politiking with nothing to boast about but filth all over, starvation and hopelessness about what the future holds for posterity; we are sunk!

  61. Comparatively, it appears GBM sounds to be more mature and a unifying factor than Guy Scott the latter who has proved to be dangerously divisive.

    The dynamics of the emerging split in PF is that the A-Team of Guy Scott, Kabimba, Sata, Mmembe and Masebo have their luck invested in a small constituency centred in Lusaka Province. On the other hand the camp comprising of GBM, Nsanda, Kambwili, Chikwanda, which Guy Scott is trying discard off the PF, enjoys the support of Northern, Muchinga and Luapula provinces based on historical bonds once generated by late Simon Kapwepwe.

    Should any show-down erupt between Guy Scott’s A-Team vs the rest, the A-Team will have inflicted on themselves a status of prohibited strangers in Northern, Muchinga and Luapula provinces. This is interesting!

If Bwana Scott’s A Team and the Rest come to blows, as it has already started, development is at standstill.   64. GBM is so determined and convinced himself to be next President after Sata but I think he will be asked to leave and form his own Party or will be expelled. He is tempting the King Cobra unnecessarily and to his owm detriment. King Cobra message was crystal clear but it is always difficult to discern when you get so ambibtious or “fall in love” with the idea of being President. He should seek counsel from Kavindele and those that were really close to late BY about running a Party based on percieved financial might. Capt Chewe’s advice may also be handy, on how his cash induced massive cadre support to be MMD VP (automatic successor President) was thwarted by LPM.
