Lwandamina-Arrows won’t give Nkana free points

Share

Red Arrows coach George Lwandamina says the Airmen will do their best
when they face leaders Nkana in this Saturday’s final FAZ Super League
match in Kitwe.

Nkana needs to beat Arrows at Nkana Stadium to secure the 2013 League
title, in case second placed Zesco United defeats Nchanga Rangers on
the same day.

The Wusakile outfit are on 56 points, two points above Zesco going
into Saturday’s final league matches.

Lwandamina said Arrows will not do any favour to Nkana.

“We will go into that game as if we will be fighting for the
championship because we have a tag to protect,” he said.

“We have a name to protect so it will be an exciting game. I cannot
promise anything but we will do our best in 90 minutes,” Lwandamina.

“We cannot just give them on a silver platter they have to deserve to
be champions by beating everyone; if they fail it will be unfortunate
for them.”

Arrows beat Nkana 1-0 in the reverse fixture in Lusaka last August.

    • @jo, you were probably born in the 90s for you to say Lwandamina has never played football. Go to the roots – mafukeni (Mufulira)…

    • Jo, you do not know Zambian football history, just shut up. Have you ever heard of George Chicken? lol!!!! I think you are a chicken.

    • You are a liar. Chicken George Lwandamina played for Zambia schools when he was at then Ndeke Secondary School, then went on to play for Mighty Mufulira Wanderers. Sometimes if you have nothing to contribute, it’s better to shut your trap. AS the others said, probably you were not even born when Chicken George was playing soccer.

    • Ever heard of the man nicknamed ‘Chicken George’ at Mighty Mufulira Wonderers – and a few caps, if I am not mistaken.?
      That was George Lwandamina.

  1. @jo go and sleep. You must be a 1990 baby. Lwandamina started his bola career in Wusakile pa Melody. We used to call him Chicken George. He was in the generation ya bena kapambwe, kamanga, wizzy ,

    • Thank you Zioneke. This kid probably does not even know that akale kwali naba ajax as they used to call under 12,14,16,18 Junior Rhokana (Nkana) club where the likes of Chicken George, kapambwe, rubberman and others gone to be with the lord came from. These kids born of the 90’s, awe ni nchito.

  2. I now know that some people who blog on LT are very blank on general knowledge. Iwe @Jo, you even have the courage to write ati George Chicken has never played football. Personally, ask Kalusha to pump something in you. Mwaiche, twalenina icibumba pa Shinde stadium to watch abena George Lwandamina, Late Super Ashios, Emmanuel Munaile, Kalu pa Mighty ninshi abena Fighton Simukonda, Wedson Nyirenda, Late Benjamin Bwalya, John Zyambo and other players of 80s and early 90s na besa.

  3. Chicken george is a blessing to Zambia. He is one of the old folks who has tremendously contributed to Zambian football. Kalusha calls him ba george.
I wish we had videos of some of his games he played. Very talented son of the land . He walks, talks and sleeps soccer todate. God bless his heart.

  4. @ jo, obviously waleikala ku mongu or kukasama or kumbala or chipata, solwezi, mansa. or in short, kumushi. Ine nalebatambila pakafubu staduim pa ABATTOIR when teams like STYLISH ROAN. KALAMPA NKANA, MIGHTY MUFULIRA, BRAVE NCHANGA, SHARP KONKOLA, MAGNIFICENT KABWE, MULUNGUSHI CHIEFS, SENSATIONAL ZANACO, GREAT ZAMUSURE, CHINGALAIKA BUCHI BOYS, STRIKELOVERS, VITAFOAM, RAILEXPRESS, STARBORN MODERNSTARS, bale teya BOLA…

  5. George Chicken grew up in Kitwe, ku Chamboli n finished school at Ndeke in 1986, he played for the schools national team n he used to run 400-10000 metres n he used to beat them by a huge margin ku nkana stadium and Mighty signed him in 87 in pre season. So ba chicken muli besu imwe, twalena bonse chibuku ku modern bar ku ndeke after twa dodger, lekeni tusendeko league.#KALAMPA

    • @ the boss a point of collection chicken George grew up in t section in wusakile and miseshi. He completed his grade 12 at ndeke secondary school in 1984 in was pure science school.

  6. Gentlemen u like arguing,,nowander zambian football will never improve..thoz days topscorers used to score mayb 40 to 45 goals,,now today sum chap scores 14 goals & hes crying to b fused in the Last 11 of the National Team..marubish !
Next season topscorer wil hav 10 goals bliv me

    • Ba Bags 14 goals before the end of a season is a lot of goals. If you compare with other leagues like the Nigerian, no top scorer has ever scored more than 16 goals for 20 years until Ahmed musa scored 18 goals in 2011. In Kenya Keli is the top scorer with 15 goal this year. This is not Europe where you play almost 40 games. Which bola do you follow? Which zambian professional player has more than 10 goals this season?

  7. I think George is stating something obvious ! Arrows will have to play their best ! Otherwise it will be match fixing ! In fact I expect ALL the teams to put in their best including the already demoted ones !

    • @LCD. Not to worry. Arrows has always been above board in situations like this. Last season it was Power who had to beat Arrows to win the league title but Arrows put up their best performance of the season to beat Power 1-0 and thats how the title ended up with Zanaco. So if Nkana wins it will be because they will have earned it and not because Arrows are compromised. Best wishes to Nkana though.

  8. I STILL THINK THE 7-1 ZESCO VS LIME GAME NEEDS TO BE PROBED ! I SMELL A RAT THERE , ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING HOW WELL LIME HAVE DONE AFTER THAT , BEATING POWER AND DRAWING WITH ARROWS ! IT STINKS . . .!!!!!!!!!!

    • @LCD. Am with you on this one. I know Zesco are playing good football but after watching Lime resist an Arrows onslaught on Sunday with a very decent performance, coupled with their defeat of Power, I was left wondering how Zesco could have posted 7 goals.

  9. Bwana Maikalange !
Am into English League & our vry own local League..plz jst agree wth me,,for the past 2 seasons or so,,our local league hasnt bn impresiv interms of goals scored..so frm my calculations,,our so called topscorer wth 15goals it means in the second league games hasnt scored any yet coz honestly is that impresv out of 30games to score 15..nway kaili ni local league

    • The African leagues are tough, that’s our level. If some can score more goals than the so called Zambian professional strikers i don’t see any reason why he cant be given a chance to compete with them.

  10. @AVTOMAT Naushapo na NCHANGA RANGERS. Kuti watina nokukomentapo abalumendo aba balishiba saana history ya zambian footbal. shame on @ JO for not knowing wat he said.

  11. @Jo. I didn’t want to post anything because I know very little about George Nkuku and I avoided any form of embarrassment. Maybe you should try to do the same when it comes to issues you don’t understand.

  12. I feel very sorry for the young man called Jo. Suppose there were no people with knowledge abou football, Jo could have misled many bloggers about George.

But his date of birth (Jo) is not an issue. we have proper football fans who know people who played football long before they were born. You do not need to have been born during the time of Shaka to know about shaka if you are a serious historian.

My conclusion is that jo is not a serious football fan and his comments should ignored.

  13. As for us soccer fans , the only thing we can do is helplessly watch from the terraces as our respective teams battle it out ! As a Nkana supporter I would like us to win the league ! I also know that we might not ! But whatever happens , I shall remain fully committed to the Reds ! When we went to Division One , I was there ! When we represent Zambia ( once again ) , I shall be there !

  14. ba nkana if u loose this one forget anothr title for the next 10years again.
power lost it last year on the final day and they have strugled this year. so plz masauso phiri tel yo boys its now or never. am coming to kitwe after 9yeras just for that game

  15. Masauso Zimba seems to be a very good attacking midfielder and is underutilised where he is played a left full back defender, so ba Coach, Ba Masau Mwale lolekeshenipo

    • Best wishes for Kalampa, like one of the bloggers has put it, we must win the title league with conviction- period!!

On the other hand we need people like Jo to learn a few things. Keep it up Jo

  16. Have just been watching a sports programme on ZNBC ! They were analysing both ends of the league ! The relegation fight involving Nkwazi , Napsa and Mine Police is very interesting ! One of these will join Lime , Kalulushi and Forest in Division One next year !
