Police in Namwala district are holding a male farmer aged 22 years for allegedly shooting to death a colleague after a quarrel.
The suspect identified as Laston Himbai Malindo of Shupi village in Chief Muchila’s chiefdom is alleged to have shot and killed Allan Hambulo aged 25 years of Munangaundu village of Chief Muchila.
According to police sources in Namwala, the deceased is alleged to have been shot by Laston Himbai after he (suspect) borrowed some money from the deceased which he failed to pay back.
The misunderstanding arose when the deceased demanded his money which the suspect failed to pay, leading to a quarrel which resulted into a fight before the suspect shot and killed the deceased.
Police sources told ZANIS that the suspected killer upon realizing the incident buried the deceased in the bush in Itapa area of Chief Muchila.
The gruesome act occurred between 26 -27 November 2013. The suspect who is police custody took the police to the scene where he buried Hambulo.
And Southern Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga confirmed receiving a report from Namwala police over the murder case.
Mrs Katanga told ZANIS Namwala in a telephone interview that a pathologist will soon be sent to Namwala to exhume the body and post mortem.
By press time Namwala Police were awaiting for a pathologist to exhume the body for post mortem, identification and burial.

This Mushota girl despite rubbing shoulders with bazungu in her UK doesn’t understand chizungu. According to her the dead man deserves it. But going by what I have read above the man in police custody (the killer) is the one who failed to pay his kongole hence killing his colleague (the lender).

Very true. One was short dead and buried and the other one is facing murder case and both wont rule Zambia except those who can kill and steal the body from the hospital and the doctor say natural causes.
