Clifford shames Mweene

Share

Zambia winger Clifford Mulenga last night scored his first goal for South African side Mpumalanga Black Aces as they defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 in a league match at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

Clifford was on target for Black Aces just after 10 minutes with a low shot that beat his compatriot and Sundowns goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene.

He justified Coach Clive Barker’s decision to hand him a place in the starting line-up.

This was the first time Clifford was starting for Black Aces.

He recently joined Black Aces from SuperSport United.

    • Mweene is finished, good that Chipolopolo has Danny Munyao & Nsabata, compared to Mweene & Titima.
Honestly last loses of Zambia was due to Mweene.

    • This is shameful reporting to say the least; reporting without any moral responsibility. I personally have a lot of respect for both Clif and Mweene. Both players have achieved great things for our country at Fifa Youth World Cup and Africa Cup, respectively.
The title could have read something like: ‘Clifford Announces His Return to First Team’, ‘Clifford Finally Proves His Worth’, ‘Clifford Shames His Critics’, ‘Clifford Too Good for Mweene’, ‘Clifford Too Hot For Mweene’, ‘Clifford Too Good For Sundowns’, ‘Clifford 1- 0 Mweene’, or ‘Clifford Puts One Past Mweene’.

  1. Sensational reporting ba LT. Is conceding a single goal shameful? How would you then describe Hull City goalkeeper who shipped 5 in a single match?

    • If Clifford did not score was the headline going to be the other way round? “Mweene shames Clifford” and then the story about how many times Mweene saved Clifford’s attempts? What a way to report!

  2. Mulenga scored a much winner and mweene conceded a goal that made his team loose so he was shamed by his compatriot thats waht this article is all about guys, i do not see anything wrong in that although mweene is Zambia No. 1.

  3. LT, your Title is getting on my nerves! Could you be abit more appealing? How about…… Clifford Sweeps through Mweene at Bmombela Stadium!

    • hhahahahahah… i like your title but isebanya ba mweene iyo title please… sweeps through… cindy,, mweene is a father to somebody,, please be abit `soft“

    • @ Jude Law,
Indeed missed out on those interesting topics, I was so washed out with kunaka to a point were I couldnt even think of moving my fingers, anyways, almost there.

  4. and it was mweene fault, he was left one on one with the striker by his defenders and it wasn’t a goalkeepers fault that he conceded that goal.

    • Tribalists will always be the first to identify who to segregate. When Mweene was stopping the Ivorians,he was a Zambian, now that a fellow country man scores ,a mu bemba is superior.

  5. I watched that match.Sundowns missed a lot of clear chances.Thgey could have won by 5 goadls.Lets stop blaming Mween for the for someting that wa s beyond hime.where wereall the defenders?

  6. Clifford Mulenga has always been my favourite and he did well to Shame Mweene, Kalusha, Renard and his PE asistant PackedRice Bamuulye

  7. How does a striker scoring against his fellow player deserve the title shames? Such heading doesn’t sound sportsmanship BUT political.

  8. Advise to LT and others, stop thinking on tribal lines. Every body was happy when we lifted the afcon cup. Why think like that pse.We can reach very far if we stop
thinking on tribal lines. That was just a game. The score was not meant to shame
Mr. Mweene at all.You are promoting hate in the national team and no one tribe can
bring grory alone to zambia. Such thinking will derail development and more cups. SAY NO TO
TRIBAL THINKING. I BEG YOU. Also LT watch euro leagues- player score
on there contrymen. It is never meant to SHAME them.Headlines are very
rich..but in Zambia reporters are contaminated. i end there.

  9. LT whats your idea of reporting in such divisive manner? Wasn’t it good the goal was scored by a zambian and it should just remain at that. May be LT is now an undertaking of ZWD.

  10. Hey hey ba LT i forgot. What if Mr.Mweene saved that ball. What would have been the
headline. Pse be tolerant and “sensiya” in your reporting. Make people feel
good in what you report and they will comment fruitfully not this satanic, hateful
reporting it will divide the pipo unnecessarily…In Ghana when i went there
Mr. Mweene is respected but here back home you no remorse and morals on our
    local heroes.WHY…. answer me!

    • We know we have to be sincere but guys vintu vinangu awe! Sincere inkale “Sensiya” sure? Mwati ku skulu tina yendako mwati?

  11. IF the heading was anything different, then this story was going to LACK what we call attribution.

Attribution is the LACK of sense in what you are about to read. what made you eager to read was the target of the Reporter.

So big up mr reporter and well done.

  12. This is a sensational headline. Its designed to create conflict where there is no conflict. Clifford is an opponent: he is expected to score. Mweene is expected to save. When they do their jobs noone is shamed. Otherwise from now on you must tell us who has shamed who in the whole each time anyone scores (or saves) in the whole FAZ league
Mweene has been very good since joining Sundowns. He has been very crucial to their being log leaders

    • *Otherwise from now on you must tell us who has shamed who each time anyone scores (or saves) in the whole FAZ league
