Shepolopolo U20 fall at home

Share

Shepolopolo Under-20 sides dreams of also making a FIFA World Cup final appearance were dashed on Saturday after losing 2-0 at home to Equatorial Guinea.

Equatorial Guinea shocked their hosts after barely settling in Lusaka following their arrival less than 24 hours earlier on Friday evening.

A first half brace from Agile Olive Ngo Nyepel secured Equatorial Guinea’s away in at Nkoloma Stadium in this Canada 2014 FIFA U20 Womens World Cup third round, first leg qualifier.

Ngo Nyepel whipped in the first goal from a free kick in the 16th minute before completing her brace in the 24th minute.

The two sides faceoff in the final leg in Malabo in a fortnights time.

The hosts’ setback comes a fortnight after their Under-17 counterparts qualified for the 2014 FIFA U17 Womens World Cup in Costa Rica.

  1. Like they did not know what hit them!! These Guineans have a way with football, recalling from the superb performance of their team at CHAN 11.
Well, Zambia can do it in their backyard too. But that goes with hard training, the right psychie and lots of favour from God.

  2. Too bad girls. Being whacked at home is bitter to the belly. Anyway, keep your heads high! Like the Germans say “Nach dem Spiel ist Vor dem Spiel”, meaning “After the game is before the game..”

PS. LT please try to edit and simplify your reports. I had to read the 3rd sentence which begins: “A half brace…” several times before making out the meaning.

  3. I think it is about time the government had a shift in sport budget allocation and diversified into other sports. Clearly the male zambian team is useless we dont expect much from the females. Let us channel energies to other sports. we might just happen to be good at hockey. good evening all and have a blessed weekend

  4. Okey, I had more hope for this team than the adult male team. So we was thrashed at home? Meaning there are lots of lessons we have not registered.

Poor coaching, poor leadership. That is the judgement. Like our opponents we have ten toes, one brain, two arms and legs, two breasts, two arses – one being the coach, the other being the coaches assistants.

Do the maths – we lost – clean.

  5. Guys guys guys. Spare the young ladies. You can not expect to win all the time. More training, more encouragement. Not all sperms turn into babies.

  6. How can these girls play with too much uchende, at 20 mabele yanagwa kudala, the guineansa are all virgins. FAZ stop wasting our money and time build the men team, not vima solola
