Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) has advised in coming northern province minister Freedom Sikazwe to instill unity and build the PF in the area.

Mr Mwamba said this when he featured on a live Radio program at Radio Mano in Kasama today.

Mr Mwamba, who last week resigned as Defence Minister, said it was important that the party is united in order to foster development in the province.

He further said Mr. Sikazwe, who has been swapped with former northern province minister Obious Chisala, should avoid practicing favoritism in the party.

Mr Mwamba urged the Minister to develop close working relations with public officers and not turn his public office into a party office.

He advised Mr Sikazwe to separate party politics from government work as he is supposed to render service to both parties.

Mr. Mwamba has since assured his electorates that he will continue to speak on their behalf as area member of parliament.

And campaign manager for the Kasama Central Member of Parliament Nathan Ilunga has appealed to politicians not to fight and kill each other but unite and work for the development of the nation.

He said the party in the area should avoid confrontations every now and then but should instead dialogue and work together for the development of the constituency.

And Mr Mwamba has reminded the Patriotic Front not to forget where they are coming from and how his business suffered at the expense of sustaining the then opposition party.

Speaking to Qfm News in a telephone interview, Mr. Mwamba said it is unfortunate that the ruling party has easily forgotten its past.

Responding to reports that government has directed the Food Reserve Agency to immediately cancel his tender for transporting farm inputs using his Arizona Transport, Mr. Mwamba wondered why his family business has to be involved because of his resignation.

He explained that the Patriotic Front and President Michael Sata should remember that his family businesses suffered at the expense of sustaining the Patriotic Front while in opposition.

Mr Mwamba added that God almighty is watching and will fight the battle for him.

Mr. Mwamba said the PF should not drag his family business into politics.

Mr. Mwamba added that Arizona transport is a company for his children and his wife, the reason why it should not be dragged into his political battles.

Meanwhile Mr. Mwamba has dismissed calls by some party members for him to resign from the ruling party, stating that he has better things to talk about.

  1. Is that all? Missing data ba LT naimwe, i expect more than this… Anyway good to hear his not into tit for tat. Mwamba is wise maybe nombafye umubili…

    • Well done GBM. Use the art of deception against your master just like your master taught you.
Now is not the time to voice your political ambitions. What ever it is keep it close your chest until 2016 March.

      SMOOTH OPERATOR YOU SHOULD BE.

  2. If this is all he said then let’s also listen or read from others on what they myt have heard. In our country some media tend to have supernatural ears. They listen more than others, and what listen to later communicated causes and great and hate. They write with impunity. Well lets open our eyes and ears to what else GBM myt have said on the Mano live program. God bless zambia.

    • My guess is that having failed to dislodge is presidential competitors by underhand methods,GBM shall return from the back bench to attempt another pustch through more democratic means. He plans to agitate for,and contest for a strategic position at a PF convention.Kambwili’s “Constituency Convention” is a filler

  3. It is good that GBM is not being confrontational. I wish Zambian business men like GBM,HH and others could graduate to the level of dangote by setting up companies such as cements plants and the like.

    • @pajanza. I want Zambia to develop and don’t mind about tonga or bemba or lozi crap. I also wish these big business men could stay away from politics to avoid conflict with government of the day.

    • Which color…
The only explanation to this kind of perception is that you lack even the most basic education, let alone exposure. You’re even fortunate to be literate despite your abuse of this ability.

    • This is the problem we have in Zambia is when we see a rich person like GBM we naturally assume he/she is more intelligent than us. If you know Dangote’s history, his vision and the highly educated individuals he has surrounded himself with; you wouldn’t have asked that question.
There is a very big difference between being rich and being wealthy…you find out that difference and you will have all your answers to your question.
Secondly all the people you have mentioned are politicans; politics is an expensive business and not an investment it just drains your bank account.

    • @ Panjaza it is this type of rhetoric from your mouth that has prevented this country to achieve higher development. Anyway both GBM and HH are not yet at the level of Dangote. Recently he borrowed US$ 3.5 Billion on top of his own US$ 4.0 Billion to build an Oil refinery in Nigeria. No Zambian has that kind of money to go into very expensive ventures like cement manufacturing but I believe eventually we will be there. We need to appreciate businessmen and Women to have a say in the development agenda of the World. The current signs where if you talk your business has to suffer is not good. This is what has taken Russia backwards. Putin’s politics are very similar to PF politics. They are enemies of wealth creation and hence being anti development. This is PF way of doing things.

    • @jay jay. Why cant you be objective for once? I have not mentioned intelligent anywhere in my comments. Maybe I should say people with a lot of cash, and lots of it! By Zambians standards GBM and HH are some of them. There are others like Mmembe, I just did not want to mention them because you will start saying other things.

    • Bo pajanza, are you stating the truth, that HH is only for Tongas and not a leader for the whole Zambia? Please bo HH, save us from such people before you take over the sensible running of this land with 73 tribes in it. Ono.

  4. He knows that if he quits PF, his business will be affected. He is moving with caution so that he still stays in the party. The Northen province police chief must be feeling ashamed as there was no violence reported.

  5. And GBM plays another political card, now embarrassing Sata and his PF representatives by speaking contrary to what they expected. They must be scratching their heads!

    • Its you douchie muppet who is embrassed & scrathing yo balls coz you thought he would join the opposition or would form his party.

  6. Sad on the transport contract ,but he expected it anyway not so? All those other contracts he awarded his companies obviously made him all the cash he had used while aiding the opposition PF.gudluck big boss it appears there will be more coming…

  7. African politics so dirty;PF should avoid at all cost to squize GBM coz he has resigned from the GRZ,he is free to exercise his right ,that is, democracy is all about and leave his business alone and focus as government to improve the lives of the people.Konse uku tamwaishibe uko ale fumya idalama ya business yakwe lelo ati ACC can you investigate GBM fya bupuba no bufotine muleke jealous kills ba mwisho and transport business is in the high demand in Africa, you can move it in DRC and South africa the Katumbi and the Musepe of this world will never let u down to invest in their countries .We should learn from the big corporate companies such as Anglo american, Colgate and Leverbrothers just to mention few.It is business not politics.God bless GBM n family…

  8. Why should his business be made to suffer? This is dirty politics and I hope GBM will learn that when all is well and rosy it is unwise to start victimizing others based on tribe or political affiliation.

  9. @ SPARTAN

    PARTY CADRE BLOGGERS,
WHY DO YOU BRING IN HH AND GBM? WHY DO WE EVEN TALK ABOUT THESE BORING GUYS IF THEY ARE REALLY RICH? DO GENUINE RICH PEOPLE LIKE WARREN BUFFETT, STEVE FORBES, BILL GATES, STEVE JOBS, MACK ZUKCERBERG OF THE USA, Richard Branson Of Uk, & ALIKO TANGOTE OF NIGERIA & PATRICE MOTSEPE OF SOUTH AFRICA PARTICIPATE IN POLITICS WHICH THEY REGARD AS DIRT?

HONESTLY, A RICH MAN WOULD NOT INTERVENE IN THE INSTALLATION OF POVERTY STRICKEN CHIEFS OR NURSE’S EMPLOYMENT!

IF ONE HAS ALREADY MADE IT IN LIFE, WHY SHOULD HE BE AT ODDS WITH HAPLESS POLITICIANS LIKE SATA IN WINTER? THERE IS SOMETHING COMMON ABOUT OUR ZAMBIAN RICH PEOPLE…THEY SIMPLY WANT TO USE POLITICS TO OPEN MORE BUSINESSES INSTEAD OF ENGAGING IN ANTHROPOLOGY OR IN SOCIAL COMMUNITY…

    • Check the headline of this article you are also commenting on, it says GBM. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned HH, although he is a big player in our politics as well as business circles.

    • U only picked what suits u,the bush family are rich & in politics, warren Buffett is a big donor for the Democratic party,Obama ‘s tax proposal called the buffer rule.mitt Romney is rich.Michael Bloomberg, new York outgoing mayor.world all over rich are involved in politics directly or indirect.so luapula premier be sincere.

    • they participate when they do realize that people like Sata lose direction in the manner they lead at the expense of the poor majority.

    • Those people you have mentioned above do participate in politics but they do it indirectly through lobbying Politicans to promote their business interests…mobile phone network providers, Zambian Indians and Pakistans have been using this strategy for years.

  10. If I recall very well, GBM resigned because he was given a choice to choose between “blood and water”, in this case blood being family and water being politics. Now, we all know that he got many contracts because of his involvement in politics. One is thus given to wonder why he is surprised, and quote: “why his family business has to be involved because of his resignation”. Only a fool cannot see the connectivity, he failed to learn a lesson from Ben Mwila who died a pauper in a Joburg hospice.

    • Spot on. …you watch this space next it will be GBM for President and we will back in this vicious cycle og corruption. Where is the nation’s interest in all this? ..when has this thug ever objected to mediocrity that has been taking place under this useless gov’t and the opposition is unashamedly calling him a hero all of a sudden.
We deserve a new breed of politicans not these selfish dogs we have both in the ruling and opposition parties.
I’m utterly utterly disgusted by all this rubbish thst has hijacked bread and butter issues that matter to svrtage Joe Public in the shanty compounds.

    • *…disgusted by all this rubbish that has hijacked “bread and butter” issues that matter to average Joe Public in the shanty compounds.

  11. Indeed GBM must learn from Ben Mwila.l would rather he plays it cool by making peace with all then resigns quietly in order to give maximum concertration to his businesses.Mwana wesu umfwa amashiwi aya. Please ba Sata mulekeleni amakweboyakwe.

  12. Would it not be sweet revenge for the Bisas to subjugate the Bembas at least this once? And why will any well meaning Lungu, Mambwe, Namwanga etc. not join the Bisas in a cause such as this one? Why must it be that those who have ruled over us historically must be the ones to continue ruling over us just because they consider themselves superior to us? And when will the minorities also be given a chance to rule just as the minority Tutsis are the ones ruling over the majority Hutus in Rwanda today.

Mr. Sata is hitting hard. He is not fighting as the one fisting the wind, but Mr. Mwamba is and for a good reason. He knows that the Bembas can be isolated, are out-numbered and out-gunned. Two Bemba cabinet ministers are out. That’s a clear message from President Sata.

  13. @ chikubabeniso

GENUINE RICH PEOPLE SPONSOR POLITICAL PARTIES TO INFLUENCE POLICY OR AS LOBBYISTS, AND OFTEN THEY SPEND A LOT OF THEIR RICHES ON ANTHROPOLOGY AND SOCIAL COMMUNITY WELFARE.

WHEN THEY DO TAKE PART IN ACTIVE POLITICS LIKE THE BUSHES, CARTERS, MITT ROMNEYS ETC, THEY ARE A MESS AND THEY ARE OFTEN REJECTED…..

ZAMBIAN RICH MEN, ARE INTO INTO IT ONLY FOR MONEY….NOTHING MORE.

  14. Quite a headless rascal I reckon. Did he not mean to make a statement by his resignation? Or was he just trying to make ba Shilubemba feel that he is in their camp and make it a win-win situation for himself? Or must we assume that GBM is just one among the many pot-bellied politicians who are there only for their stomachs?

Going on Radio Mano and reminding PF of his financial contribution to the party, what’s all that? Has he not been paid his dues so many times over?

The fact of the matter is that President Sata has so far unleashed at least three deadly knock-out punches against Mwamba and his clique. Such a soft response from GBM makes him look like a punching bag and not a real boxing champ.

  15. Development in Zambia is to cancel tender for transporting farm inputs using Arizona Transport. Development in Zambia is to destroy a business that belongs to an enemy or to those with different views or that belong to opposition. The problem in Zambia is that the father of the nation want to be worshiped as if he was God. He wants the people to beg and kneel down so that they can prosper businesswise. PF government is joking if that’s what they call creating wealth, creating jobs and increasing development. Zambia does not have enough trucks to transport goods to cancel Arizona Transport. That is going backwards. The power which is bestowed upon the father of the nation can be highly abused and became a curse to a nation. If you plant lemons you will not harvest oranges, but lemons.
