Republican President Michael Chilufya Sata has offered Luapula a modern stadium to be built in Mansa, the Provincial Capital.

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Nixon Chilangwa who is also Kawambwa Central member of parliament disclosed this during the combined third and fourth quarter 2013 Provincial Development Coordinating Committee meeting held at Henry Courtyard last week.

He said he had taken time to engage the head of state the time he visited Mansa recently and requested for a modern stadium for the Province and the President agreed to the requested but inquired the location to which Mansa was deemed suitable.

Chilangwa said Mansa was chosen because of the readily available abundance of good accommodation to shelter all would be visitors to the Province to feast on the joys of the most popular sport in the country.

He said it was important to consider the design of the new Luka Kapasha area development plan where the new civic centre will be located to include enough land for the modern stadium which should also allow accompanying infrastructure around the modern stadium.

And Luapula Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Joyce Nsamba who was chairing the combined PDCC said it was good news for all soccer lovers in the Province because the facility will attract more would be investors and tourists to the region.

  1. The president is doing the right thing by looking our for Bembas

I can see him winning the 2016 elections easily

    Thanks

    • Zondwa – Sorry I can’t write in Bisa, but will use English and can ask your Minions to Interpret for you.

We don’t need a stadium in Mansa, what for. We need the Banana Scheme at Mununshi to start operations, we need Kashikishi fish storage facilities to start operating, we need Mansa Batteries, Kawambwa tea Estate, among others.

We in Luapula need real Jobs, not your halluciniations. 2016 Kuya Bebele.

    • I support @Oldrugsout’s proposals. How Willa stadium in Mansa foster development and improve the well being of the people of Luapula. A stadium has precedence over improved water reticulation and sanitation, over economic entities like Mununshi Banana scheme, fish processing plant etc. What kind of development do you call this? Was there any cost benefit analysis gone into these pronouncements? This is shameful to say the least.

    • Sorry, I meant to say “looking OUT for Bisas and Catholics”…

Oops! Ka Nick has peed on the toilet seat again!!!

  2. What a crafty man. He knows that he has lost Kasama and Mungwi now he wants to appease Luapula. I hope they take the bribes but don’t vote for him!

    • Crafty to who. Ifwe tuli batulu, namasangalatoni tatufwya.

For your information, your Mwansabombwe MP Rogers Mwewa has been barnished, and will not step his foot in Mwata’s kingdom.

PF has never done anything for Luapula, Kuya bebele….

  3. In september 2015 reintroduce fuel and maize subsidies, deploy more teachers, nurses, police, zaf, zns, and other civil servants then compaign pointing at stadia, schools, 650 clinics, link zambia 8000 roads, zambia railways, zamtel, Finance bank, raise PaYE exemption to k3000 and then tell zambians to vote. It will be a land slide victory as UPND and MMD share some votes! That’s zambian politics! Oops introducing milling companies in all provinces and and introduce public bus transport!

    • Keep on dreaming. Even R B did, until we told him donty Kubeba.

I love donty Kubeba because it doesn’t segregate at all, but cuts accross all partties.

    • In your dreams, even villages now understand what is happening and they are feeling the effects. PF has lost it and it is in fast lane killing itself. Donch kubeba will work against them and they know it hence they are panicking and busy attacking each other. A pity we have a bunch of *****s ruining the our country faster than MMD did! Kuya bebele!

  4. Kwesu kwali wamisho kotulye minofu yambowa …. Kwesu kwali wamisho kotulye minofu yambowa …. welcome to the new Liverpool (Luapula Province) the paradise of Zambia.

  5. Do the people of Luapula really need a stadium? or revival of Mansa batteries, or that Banana plantation, or a factory processing fulesi fisi? Poor Luapula people ninani akamilubulula? Saleni amano, umulilo uchili patali.

    • I can see that you can make a better economic adviser to the man in plot one than the minions he now has !! Or is it because they are too scared to speak their mind with him for fear of being insulted ??? What a president !!

  6. The President has no vision or strategy for the Nation. Building a stadium in collaboration with some Chinese( Because how else will he afford to do it?) will not benefit our people long term. He is turning out to be a President of stadiums, it also makes a show on our low expectations as a people, we get excited about stadiums! Its industries that we require, we require projects that will stimulate local economies!

    • The man would rather build a stadium than help the average Zambian to put food on the table??? He removes food subsidies so that he can build you a stadium??? What a psycho !!!

  7. Of all things he decides to waste taxpayers money on a useless football stadium instead of investing money in Kawambwa tea!!

  8. The people of Luapula must be dull to accept this big uBUFI. Where will the PF get the money to buil a stadium when the nation has no basic agricultural structures to cushion their poverty? Livingstone was promised a Stadium, but who has seen the foundation?

  9. Do people in that province have money to spend , because a stadium is high maintainance, people have to pay to be in that stadium, it’s not a free play ground

  10. Surely is construction of a stadium in mansa a priority fellow zambians. Is pf leadership normal??? PF has completely failed to govern as they have no agenda to benefit suffering zambians.

  11. We people in luapula we dont need a stadium we need jobs and fish farming. We will not eat the stadium epofye namwanawasa stadium in ndola is a white elephant. Such projects are only enriching chinese and pf officials. People of luapula reject the stadium and demand for profitable thing.

  12. INDIA IS THE LARGEST DEMOCRACY IN THE WORLD!

IT HAS BEEN TOYING WITH THIS DEMOCRACY FOR YEARS. BUT WHERE IS INDIA TODAY IN RELATION TO DESPOTIC CHINA?

PLEASE GOOGLE MAPS ANY CITY IN CHINA AND COMPARE IT WITH MUMBAI OR NEW DELHI IN INDIA WHERE MONKEYS & CATTLE SHARE STREETS WITH CARS AND PEOPLE.
CNN SAYS DESPOTIC CHINA MIGHT OVERTAKE USA IN 10-15 YEARS TIME IN TERMS OF DEVELOPMENT AND MODERNIZATION.

WE, IN LUAPULA, WOULD RATHER BE WITH A DICTATOR IN CHINA INSTEAD OF INDIA OR IN GUN TOTTING USA!

PLEASE ALLOW ME TO PARAPHRASE ONE OF NKRUMAH FAMOUS PHRASES….
LUAPULA, “WOULD PREFER DEVELOPMENT WITH DANGER TO SERVITUDE IN TRANQUILITY”, A tranquility Which Is Mired In Corruption Such As The One We Have Enjoyed Since The Advent Of The So-Called Multi Party Democracy..

    • Typical docile rationale!
It shames me to admit you as my compatriot. Zambia is where we are because of shallow thinking like you. Who in leadership needs checks & balances when we have the likes of you. You sir are a disgrace to future generations of your own offspring.
I weep for the likes of you.

  13. LUAPULA HAS ALREADY A UNIVERSITY EAR MARKED AND SO ARE SEVERAL TRADES TRAINING SCHOOLS FOR OUR KIDS.
HOSPITALS FOR ARE BEING UPGRADED AND NEW CLINICS ARE BEING BUILT FOR THE GENERAL HEALTH OF OUR PEOPLE, A TARRED PEDICLE ROAD FOR OUR BUSINESS MEN AND WOMEN, A STADIUM WILL BE IDEAL FOR PASTIME, TO RELEASE STRESS.
THESE INFRASTRUCTURE ARE JUST THE BEGINNING OF MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS IN THE PROVINCE.
CHINA ALSO STARTED “POLE POLE” TOWARDS MODERNIZATION.

    • Yo are right LUAPULA PREMIER.

Many of these other characters on here just like ranting anyhow. Their memories are short. They do not analyse issues critically and they complain abut anything and everything out of their resentment for the head of state.

Too bad for you them that the people decided to vote for this government.

  14. @Oldrugsout says

We don’t need a stadium in Mansa, what for?
Mwana For ongoing rural development and for Enhanced tourism as the facility will cater for a lot of things such as a civic centre. Imagine an ultra modern stadium in Mansa!
We need the Banana Scheme at Mununshi, Mansa Batteries & Kawambwa tea Estate.
I say, you are behind because The schemes and estates are coming together with the Pineapple Cannery in Mwinilunga.
This is a working government, it is serious about developing the rural life of our people.

We in Luapula need real Jobs.
How may jobs did MMD create in 15 years? How many jobs will be created during construction? 2016 Kuya Bebele. If Mansa bye election results are anything to go by, then PF has a home in Luapula.

  15. @D.ZASTER

“WHO IN LEADERSHIP NEEDS CHECKS & BALANCES?” WHAT DO YOU MEAN, DUDE??

BUT WE HAVE GONE THROUGH YOUR PATH SINCE 1990. WHERE ARE WE TODAY? 50 YEARS ON? WHERE IS INDIA? SOUTH AFRICA, USA AND ENGLAND ETC HAD TO SUPPRESSED DESCENT AND EMBRACED SLAVERY TO BE WHERE THEY ARE TODAY.

LUAPULA LIKE THE CHINESE THEN, WOULD PREFER DEVELOPMENT WITH DANGER TO SERVITUDE IN TRANQUILITY.

DEMOCRACY IS TAMEABLE. WE SHALL TAME IT WHEN THE TIME COMES.

IMAGINE IF MY “ARSENAL” WERE TO BE RUN THE ZAMBIAN WAY! WHERE EVERYONE WAS AN EXPERT!

  16. Oh, so this is how things are done! Presidential handouts………. No system, no research/study for economic impact. I thought Luapula needed fish re-stocking, schools in remote areas and producing industry than a football ground which will be used for rallies and funerals. What a wasted brain!

  17. What about legalizing prostitution by openning new brothels, cos i remember his excellency said he was saddened to find that luapula their where so many prostitutes

  18. @Lundu

NO SYSTEM, NO RESEARCH? = READ MANIFESTO. DO U NEED RESEARCH TO BUY TOILET TISSUE IN YR HOME?

LUAPULA NEED FISH RE-STOCKING? = THEY’RE PLANED 4 HERE, NWP & WP. PLSE READ & APPRAISE YOSELF WITH THESE GUYS’ MANIFESTO. THIS GRZ IS TRULY WORKING! JEALOUSY ASIDE!

SCHS IN REMOTE AREAS? = UNIVERSITY,TRADES TRAINING SCHS & PRE-PRIMARY SCHS ARE PLANED 4 IN AREAS WHERE CHILUBA CUD HAVE NOT IMAGINED A FEW YEARS AGO.

PRODUCING INDUSTRIES THAN FOOTBALL PITCHES? = DID U NOT KNOW THAT SPORT IS ONE BIG INDUSTRY THE WORLD OVER? WHERE DO U COME FROM?
YOU ARE ENTITLED TO UPND/MMD PROPAGANDA. MODERNIZATION BEGINS “POLE POLE”. PLSE LET LUAPULA PASS FINAL VERDICT IN 2016.

WHAT WASTED BRAINS?=50 YEARS ON, BRAINS’ VE NOT ONLY BEEN WASTED BUT HAVE DECAYED!

    • Yo are right LUAPULA PREMIER.

Many of these other characters on here just like ranting anyhow. Their memories are short. They do not analyse issues critically and they complain abut anything and everything out of their resentment for the head of state.

Too bad for you them that the people decided to vote for this government.

  19. The priority for Luapula province is improving electricity supply not building a stadium. With tarring of pedicle and Mansa/Luwingu roads, the province will be opened up to the copperbelt and northern circuit. Electricity would enhance tap economic potential the province is endowed with. Mr. Chilangwa should have consulted his fellow MPs before asking the president.

  20. he is thinking about the future, how Luapula will look in the next ten years. if you have a problem in building a stadium in Luapula think about your children. we need it here youth should engage in sports than doing drugs.

  21. ati uli cipuba, then the Honorable Minister goes like, yes your Excellency, in fact a very big one at that….he he he Zambian politics

  22. I concur with those who are saying a mordern stadium is not a priority for now. Kaunda and UNIP left stadias in all the Provincial Centers. Let’s ask ourselves, what benefit do we get from a stadium? To simply please the mind?? Let’s learn to consult our people and find out what would be their priority! I come from Western Province and will tell you that in Mongu,a Modern stadium is not a priority. The money should be given to the Water and Sewerage company to tap water from a tributary of Zambezi river which is 3kms away unlike using boreholes for a developing town like Mongu. In Mongu water is rationed, which is shameful!! Lack of water leads to creation of unplanned,un servised squatter compounds ….everyone wants to build near a water source! A…

  23. The problem we have in Zambia is that the people do not have a say or right to suggest and tell government what they need done in their areas-wards,towns and provinces. And the so called government does care to consult from the people what they want done in their areas but just play on their minds due to illiteracy levels among the people. PF will tell you lies that they will build the stadium for the Chipolopolo to play their games in that stadium and people became happy. What Stadia De Levy benefited the people of Copperbelt province particularly those in Mpongwe,Lufwanyama, Masaiti etc. What will Stadia De Heroes in Lusaka benefit the people of Chongwe,Kafue,Luangwa etc, Development does come because of building Stadias but by putting up projects that will help people to be self reliant.

  24. This is the time for HH to capitalize on the current political squabbles in the PF government. Let him start campaigning in non traditional strongholds like Northern and copperbelt provinces where support for the PF is waning.

  25. I am not from Mongu but I feel that a modern stadium is a pririty which should have been done in 1964. After it is done we can do sewers too, no problem.
