Kalume-Nkana wants to win in Swaziland

Nkana captain Sydney Kalume says the club is targeting an away victory in the 2014 CAF Champions League preliminary round against Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland.

Swallows will host Nkana on 8 February in Mbabane before the return match set for Kitwe a week later.

In an interview, Kalume said getting a victory in the first leg tie against Swallows would be vital for Kalampa.

“We have to go and get maximum points in that match against Mbabane,” he said.

Kalume said Nkana will not underrate the Swazi champions ahead of the two teams’ meeting next month.

“We have to work hard because there is no small team in the Champions League, Mbabane is big team,” he said.

Kalume added:” We are preparing well for Champions Leagu. Our coaches Masauso Mwale, Zeddy Saileti and Gift Kampamba are preparing us well.”

Nkana are returning to the CAF Champions after a 12 year-long absence.

  2. Considered as Zambia’s most glamorous side, Nkana FC have the onerous task of redeeming Zambian football from the humiliation of being battered by teams from Swaziland or Namibia as has been the case with ZANACO. Like Sydney Kalume has pointed out, getting a victory in the first leg tie in Mbabane must be the ultimate goal for Nkana.
