Midfield star Rainford Kalaba is expected to stay at DR Congo side TP Mazembe for the near future despite a recent run on Zambian players at the club.
This is after defender Hichani Himonde became the third Zambian player to confirm his departure from Mazembe this month after sealing a three year move to South African club Mamelodi Sundowns for an undisclosed fee.
Himonde follows his Chipolopolo defensive partner Stopilla Sunzu and midfielder Nathan Sinkala who also left the Lubumbashi club in the January transfer window for French club Sochaux on a three year and six month deals respectively.
The trios’ departure leaves Kalaba as the only high profile Zambia regular still at the club at the close of the transfer window today but where he still has company in compatriots Jonas Sakuwaha, Given Singuluma and Kabaso Chongo.
“Mr. Kalaba is a TP Mazembe player in the interim. We had received some inquires but he is not interested,” Mazembe representative Andre Mtine said.
Kalaba was last year reportedly on the verge of a move to Orlando Pirates for this season but nothing materialized.

Kalaba is a good player. He should go to China, Turkey or Russia. If not then stay at Mazembe, there is nothing wrong at Mazembe except its too close to his house in Kitwe.

Zambian players are not running away from Mazembe, its business , Moise is just sealing them and make some profits because they are still under contract to Mazembe
