FAZ excuse Nkana/Zesco from midweek matches

Share

FAZ has excused Nkana and Zesco United from Wednesday’s Super League Week Two matches owing to the two team’s involvement in this weekend’s CAF-organized competitions.

Nkana on Saturday hosts Egyptian giants Zamalek in the 2014 CAF Champions League second round first leg tie in Kitwe while Zesco are traveling to Ghana to face Medeama on Sunday.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, FAZ Communications Manager Nkweto Tembwe said the association wants Nkana and Zesco to focus on their CAF engagements.

“The football Association of Zambia has postponed week two matches involving Nkana Football club and Zesco United after the two teams asked for postponement,” Tembwe said.

He said the rest of the Week Two matches will go ahead as planned.

“The rest of week two super league games will be played on Wednesday, March 19th 2014, except the match between Nchanga Rangers and Green Buffaloes which will take place on Sunday March 23rd 2014,” Tembwe
added.

Meanwhile, Lusaka’s Sunset Stadium will host a double-header involving Napsa Stars and Roan United plus Zanaco and Green Eagles.

Roan will face Napsa in the 13h00 kickoff match while Zanaco will take on Eagles two hours later to complete the midweek double-header.
