MMD presidential adviser Muhabi Lungu has denied being part of an alleged plan to hound out MMD president Nevers Mumba from his position as party president.

Mr Lungu explained that he is not aware of any plan meant to force president Mumba out of the party and that he has no intentions of being party vice president or president now but would consider standing for the position in the future.

He further said the only thing he is aware of is that his name has been proposed for the vacant party national secretary position by some members and that he intends to stand for the position on the election day.

He added that the party has given 21 days in which other members wanting to stand for the position can put forward their names for possible election.

“It is not true to suggest that people have decided to kick out Dr Mumba. We want to be able to fix the national secretariate so that we can create a vehicle by which it can sale the president properly and reorganize the party as we have been having difficulties with that according to the party”. Mr Lungu explained.

Mr Lungu was responding to a story which was circulating on an online publication alleging that he is involved in a plan to replace party president Dr Nevers Mumba.

  1. Even Muhabi Lungu himself is not a presidential material. True, he could be intelligent and versatile but could well serve his party in positions like Secretary General, Personal Assistant to the president, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services etc. He is just too handsome to hold the Presidential post even at national level.

  2. Funny; the party has given 21 days for anyone intending to stand for SG, yet in the same publication, it was reported that Simbao has been confirmed in that position. So who is telling the truth? Politicians!

  3. Muhabi , Mumba and Lusambo must gooooooo!!!! Bring back the general . He warned you about Mumba. Instead of listening to him he was beaten and dragged in the streets. Namugala was right. Mumba must goooooooo!!

  4. Mumba’s life style is well known . Even the time he was at victory ministry his friends complained about his lavish life style. Just ask the Zambias in Canada they will tell you about his liking for good milile

  5. Mr Muhabi Lungu is a good choice for SG. MMD needs new and vibrant people to function properly. Mr Mumba should also continue as president to avoid infiltration and creating more confusion in the party.

  6. For some reason, whichever party Muhabi joins ends up losing elections and goes into permanent extinction. From UNIP, MMD, and will only join PF in 2016 when they lose elections to UPND.

Very intelligent youngman but always makes political miscalculations. That thing called MMD will NEVER BOUNCE BACK into power Mr. Muhabi. Nevers Mumba cannot salvage that corrupt thing called MMD. Its history and people now are looking at UPND

You really believe that Pee Off will win elections in 2016? There ain’t gonna be none of that! Wake up my friend, wipe your eyes and smell the electoral coffee. A tsunami is coming in 2016. Watch this space!

    • Sorry Mulenga
I meant to address Kalanga and not you. My friend Kalanga ought to smell the coffee. MMD lost credibility over the 20 years and Pee FFF….has lamentably squandered the goodwill of Zambians. A tsunami greater that Fukushima is coming.

  7. @ mulenga. Wishful thinking. As long as UPND remains a party of Tonga’s for Tonga’s, it will NEVER ascend to national power.

  8. Liar! There are very few good leaders in the world and this is why we need a good constitution so that even when we have a bad leader like we have now, the constitution will stop him from governing us like his farm. We are getting the constitution before 2016 whether PF wants or not. The majority of Zambians want it no one will stop the revolution.

  9. I MISS PASTOR NEVERS MUBA PREACHING ZAMBIA SHALL BE SAVED, COULD HAVE BEEN THE GREATER PROPHET OF AFRICA BUT THE BAJONAS CONVINCED HIM TO LEAD THEM JESUS REFUSED.fellow christian May the lord bring him back to his lost glory
sometimes God uses rogues to get us back on track love you pastor.!

  10. voting for UPND WILL BE WORST .vote for NAREP not UPND . SATA CAME into power when the world economy is down . Even in western world THE
    standard of living are dwindling.

  11. How come you are always advise losers? And what stops you from vying for the top post now if you have anything to your name. Failure has always been your game.

  12. Zambians don’t like clean leaders, may be that’s the reason God gave them Micheal Sata. Accidents and kwacha depreciating every minute.

  13. I still hold out hope for this guy. I have said it in the past and I will say it now. Muhabi Lungu is destined for great things, his timing has always been off but his heart is in the right place. He will rule Zambia one day. Freedom fighter through and through. Uko!
