Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) President Father Frank Bwalya says he does not see leadership wrangles in the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) affecting their relationship in the opposition alliance.

Speaking in an interview Fr Bwalya whose party is part of the alliance said the coalition is deeply concerned with the deepening wrangles in the MMD but is confident that it will not affect their alliance as the wrangles are internal.

He observed that what is happening in the MMD is good to the party as it will help make the opposition party stronger and that a stronger MMD is good for the alliance.

“What is happening in the MMD is good to the them because a stronger MMD, a stable and united MMD is good for the alliance”

He further called on the members of the former ruling party to expeditiously iron their problems and ensure that they concentrate on important national issues affect the people in the country.

“We are concerned and we are praying that the issues in MMD are sorted out with level heads in a manner that is democratic, in a manner that is decent so that having recovered from this problem we can continue to focus on important national issues”. Fr Bwalya said.

Fr Bwalya is one of the pioneers of the opposition alliance which includes MMD, PP, ADD and ZED among other political parties.

The former ruling party has been hit by leadership squabbles with some NEC members calling for an extra ordinary convention so that they can elect new leaders in all party positions including that of the president.

The NEC members have accused the current leadership of failing to run the party which is leading its “slow and painful death”.

  1. Ba G.MMD dying is wishful thinking. The problem with these characters, when at individual level, they are dying politically, they think everybody is dying with them.If Dora,Chituwo,Kaingu are dying, they should die alone and let them leave the living alone.God is for the living and not the dead. The spirit behind these anti-Nevers talk is not genuine.Their intention has failed to work where they wanted to use Nevers as a cleaning pad/and crossing boat after the loss and regroup to hound him out.

  2. Christians belong to all spheres of human life, even to some professions or occupations that are regularly denigrated; some are police officers, some are lawyers while some are soldiers!!

Stay on Nevers Mumba. the devil wants you out of politics so he can continue to own it.

  3. We do not need a “Shepherd” here in MMD. We are not sheep Pastor. Go somewhere and find yourself sheep to lead.
    Peace be with you sir.
