United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has advised Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba to concentrate on delivering the constitution rather than diverting attention from the real issue at hand.

Responding to Mr Kabimba remarks that it will take him 50 years to reach President Micheal Sata’s popularity, Mr. Hichilema says it is unfortunate that Mr. Kabimba wants to ridicule everyone he thinks of.

Mr. Hichilema has told QFM News that Mr. Kabimba is showing lack of concern to the demands of the people of Zambia for a people driven constitution.

He states that the PF Secretary General has chosen to attack the UPND because he knows the party is gaining popularity on the ground.

Mr. Hichilema says he will not waste his time responding to Mr.Kabimba who he says is busy campaigning for himself rather than for President Sata ahead of the 2016 general election.

And Mr Hichilema says his popularity can never be compared to that of President Micheal Sata.

Mr. Hichilema says he will not fall prey to telling the people of Zambia lies or things that he will not deliver once voted as President.

And UPND deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says those doubting the popularity of the UPND leader will wake up to a rude shock come 2016.

  1. Do you honestly think this DULL and Empty Tin can deliver a Constitution, not with such pampering. All empty tins do is make so much noise it starts to irritate.

What works with empty tins is to hit them until there deformed. We need more sustained pressure until we get our Constitution. Let’s change our model operanda on the Constitution.

    • No wonder winter is the only serving SG of a ruling Party to have been put in confine while still alive by his own cadres.

    • I think wynter has more credibility than HH

Wynter looks more presidential material as his record suggests and is much more experienced.
I know who I would rather be led by

      Thanks

    • Am PF but I hate Winter, so any comment against him is welcome to me. pakanwa kwati alenya. But still not abena HH, bena teti. I’d rather go naku green party

    • see who is complaining about been ridiculed….

This regional, tribal fundamentalist and leader of a tribal pack of wolves is contemptuously and condescendingly looking for sympathy and empathy from unsuspecting citizens.

sorry you will not get any for shedding crocodile tears.

self pity will not improve the dwindling political fortunes of your moribund UPND

    • I have seen dull chaps on earth, but kabimbo is exceptionally dull. you start wondering whether he passed in his education through the front window or used leakage as its a culture in pf to cheat your way up. yaaaabaaa.

    • HH is right. Why talk about UPND instead of updating us on the accomplished and unaccomplished campaign promises? Popularity….will not give us the constitution, reduce the cost of fuel, the cost of living, the cost of doing business to mention but a few as you promised. From MMD now you have taken your pettiness to UPND! Always playing blame games, just work hard the ball is in your hands. In 2016 we will hold our checklists and judge you based on that list not popularity. Period.

  2. …..popular – widely known for favourable reasons
….Notorious – widely known for unfavourable reasons
    …..????

  3. Kabimba cant be a PRESIDENT of this Republic.

    Never never….its now Zambia forward.
Viva Luapula Province Viva UPND. One Zambia One Nation.

    • I thought it is in Luapula where UPND had a pantry 300 votes beaten even by FDD. And you are so confident on win the National election. Wena a zalila come 2016.

    • @pajanza, your memory is like a grasshopper’s, sata was ripping as little as 200 votes in choma district, not constituency yet he ended up winning nationally. Zambia is bigger than luapula

  4. People confuse arrogance with intelligence.
Kabimba is just arrogant and not what he claims. PF won becuase Zambians were tired of MMD and PF was closest who could defeat them.

    • You are right you people confuse your tribal fundamentalist’s arrogance as being intelligent.

He maybe educated but he certainly does not have what it takes to be a leader of any progressive political party.

  5. THIS IS A DRAFT AND NOT A FINAL COPY WHAT IT IF FAILS IN PARLIAMENT OR THE REFERENDUM?

If this young man, HH, thinks that the government could adopt or subject this current draft constitution to a referendum without further lengthy reviews/debates to reconcile ALL contested issues by various stake holders then he is living in under 5 dream world of his own.
The opposition seem to be quite happy with it but how about the government? The civic society? The Church? The Chiefs on land? etc

What if the Draft fails in a referendum? OR a vote in parliament or a vote at general election? Where will the government turn to? Opposition instigated Street protests!

This is a DRAFT and NOT a final copy….

    • @Obina You must understand that no Constitution is perfect, or will satisfy everyone. It is a roadmap for a Nations future.

The question we have to ask ourselves is simple. IS THIS BETTER THAN THE ONE WE HAVE GOT NOW OR NOT?

And the answer to that cannot be anything else but a resounding YES!!!!!

Even the US Constitution has had many amendments made to it, and there is nothing to stop Zambians from amending it in the future.

  6. @G

Please DO NOT be brain washed by HH’s on line and MUVI TV propaganda…there is no single UPND structure in Luapula like other provinces as at now.

The expeditionary UPND team which is currently in Luapula is casting nets in waters which are already depleted of fish stocks.

Think about! Why do you think HH declined to travel with the rest of the team? Tomorrow, your man, will put the blame on police or hostile environment in the province.

    Take it from us.

    • @lovely
but you mandingo you are far away in canada or wherever yet you want to tell us what is happening on the ground. we are here on the ground not just yapping on the internet from an economic refugee camp abroad

  7. @Matipa

I am right here in River-pool, at Mwense Secondary School to be specific.
As a matter of fact, I even attended their ka small meeting here before they proceeded to Mwansabombwe.
One or two guys were happy to collect some tokens from the team in the ‘Dochi kubeba’ style.

Mwata, the entire province is already in the ‘boat’.

Bana Mutale Nalumango is misinforming you.

    • Nalumango Mutale is just a bitter character because she lost an election in Kaputa. And she is into juju.

  8. Watch out for the GREEN PARTY guys, with the legalization of Marijuana on their manifesto, they will steal all votes from Chibolya and the Rastafarian community. Sata, HH. Mumba, and all presidential aspiring candidates shud take note.

    • What is wrong with pastorals? Just because you are surviving in biggest village in Africa does not make you superior to them.

    • Stupid comments! Stick to the subject instead of nonsense and insults!

Such comments just show your lack of anything intelligent to say. IDI0T!

  9. @Matipa

HH might even put off his trips to Luapula!

We do not not play with kids politics here.
I wish Kapwepwe and Chiluba were alive!
They could tell you why Luapula could rather play with 10 men of valour rather than with 11 young men who use corruption and tribe cards.
Both guys received matching orders (red cards) within the HOUR of play.

  10. Bana Mutale, surely, you know that Luapula rejected

    Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe,
    Friedrick Chiluba,
    Katele Kalumba ,
The late Ben Mwila and co. because of their fretting with corruption and tribalism.

HH has already aligned himself with Chiluba’s lieutenant, RB, and Kapwepwe’s antic tribal politics.
So what makes you think that Luapula will think otherwise about HH this time around?

  11. @lovely
luapula idi0ts are the worst tribalists. the only person they voted for who hails outside tubulu catchment area is mwanawasa, even then it was under the influence of kafupi. no wonder it is the least developed province despite the abundant natural resources. tell me, if you are not a tribalist, who do you support other than those that speak the same language you speak?

  12. Anyone or followers who talk about tribes by name are discarded irrespective of his or her
    age,
    education,
    wealth etc. Its that simple!
Our rural folks have always survived on peasant farming and NOT on Dollar/Kwacha exchange rate.

  13. Constitution- the right time to deal. Never miss this window

We need a constitution that will give direction and improve our lives socially, politically, religiously, environmentally and so forth. Any mishandling of this issue may just life and put some people off. We ought to be and all have a sense of belonging..then the National Anthem will make a whole lot of sense as most citizens talk and think negatively about their own country. Lets help give confidence in the nation. The New Zambia coming should find a constitution and operate with direction.

Zambian Youths should atart imagining the New Zambia where they will play very improtant role in governance and development generally.

Women of Zambia arise and start thinking New, New Zambia where they will be part of leadership…

    • Very right! This is the chance for the Zambian people to take back our Nation from failed dinosaur politics!

      DO NOT WASTE THIS CHANCE!

Sata and his PF promised us a NEW CONSTITUTION. We must FORCE them to deliver on this promise.

  14. what experience has hh to be considered a presidential candidate? has he been an mp,councilor or minister to give a political record we can give him credit for?

    • Nonsense mwe ttole mwe bakaba. What experience did KK have when he took over from the british? What experience did FTJ (MHSRIP) when he took over from KK? What experience did LPM (MHSRIP) have when he took over from Chiluba?

    • Hmm – they had a lot of experience! Even KK he started in the ranks of UNIP. Unlike HH who has never even experienced membership of a political party where he was junior to someone else. That is the root problem of his arrogance. His only understanding of the universe of politics is “Me am a big man, yes, am a big man, am want to be president, yes, president, cos am a big man”. That will not work, big man

  15. crusader give us a break insele kwati mukanwa mwaliba amaso yang’ombe. KK was chair for a political party and was versed with politics and leadership, Chiluba was ZCTU president.therefore it’s well known factor that he was well versed with politics

  16. Why is HH shying away from Luapula?
Is he waiting for a bye election in Luapula so that he can go there to cause maximum confusion with police for maximum publicity like he did in Eastern Province?
    Ka puli is too clever!
