MMD president Nevers Mumba has discarded the action taken by his vice president Michael Kaingu to lift the suspension of Copperbelt party officials.

MMD acting National Secretary Chembe Nyangu said the suspension of Copperbelt MMD officials was still standing because the party National Executive Commitee (NEC) had not convened over the matter to decide the fate of the suspended members.

Mr Nyangu who was commenting on the move taken by Mr Kaingu to reinstate the suspended Copperbelt MMD officials said Dr Mumba yesterday directed him to discard the lifting of suspensions because it was illegally done.

“Dr Kaingu illegally lifted the suspension of the Copperbelt MMD officials ordinary, NEC is suppose to meet and decide on their fate,” Mr Nyangu said.

He said as far as Dr Mumba was concerned, the suspended Copperbelt MMD officials made disparaging remarks in the press against him leading to their suspension and the matter had not been tabled before NEC.

Mr Nyangu said there was procedure such as preparation of papers to be tabled before NEC for disciplinary action which required him as acting national secretary to conduct.

“I have just commenced that action and this is why the party president has asked me to discard the lifting of the suspensions by Dr Kaingu,” mr Nyangu said.

Dr Kaingu said over the weekend that he reinstated the suspended Copperbelt MMD officials because the party in its current state could not afford to lose members.

The suspended Copperbelt officials include party provincial chairperson Joseph Chilambwe and his district chairpersons William Nyirenda jnr, Kitwe, Rabson Kawaya, Chingola, Winter Chilekwa, Mufulira, Obby Mwansa, Chambishi, Spartan Musowoya, Kalulushi, and Godwin Muyambo of Chililabombwe.

  1. It appears Kaingu is desperately trying to justify the use of the mercenary allowance he got to mess up his party, huh? It is almost as if there is an effort to go down with the organization at any cost. At this rate all intent will be laid bare for even the most gullible to figure out.

    • PF IS HAVING BIG INTERNAL WRANGLES WHILE THIS CALLED VICE PRESIDENT IS
TRYING BY ALL MEANS TO WEAKEN MMD AND DR MUMBA…GOD IS FOR HIS SERVANT……

    • You can try to disrupt the MMD order, you will not succeed. The foundation of the party is embedded in healthy democratic values, that won’t change.Dr Nevers Mumba occupied his party leadership seat through transparent ballot,he’s the highest authority in MMD and the silent majority of Zambians respect that.MMD is not short of members, in fact every citizen that enjoys civil liberties, and hates to be belittled in public by their president is an MMD member. It’s a party that doesn’t worship or revolve around one person for the depth of their pocket, it’s the only party with collective ownership by all Zambians. The sooner, Kaingu, Chituwo and Siliya vacate the scene, the better it is for its loyal army.We need more of the likes of the incorruptible Bowman Lusambo: MMD come rain , come…

  2. You lose some members(especially if they’re hopeless) and gain some(especially the useful and loyal ones). These CB Officials caused MMD to lose in2011,especially Jerabo William Nyirenda.Who even refused to defend Dr Mumba when he was arrested after visting the Chief.Infact these are all Mutati misfits.

  3. Kaingu that money you collect from that editor along that infamous road in Lusaka is no good money. Take it back before it eats you up and leave poorer than it found you. Dora is already having sleepless nights. Not all that glitters is gold, the money found along the road is better left alone.

  4. The whole entire doctor, I thought he was learned enough to know procedure? It seens having some Degree does not mean wisdom. Now I’m begining to see Mumba as better leader for the party.

  5. Everyday is MMD this MMD that we are tired mwebantu..where is this man who de-register MMD to come back and do his thing again….

  6. It appears that Kaingu has been given a programme to be issuing statements on weekly basis by PF. He got a big chunk of money and now he has to issue reckless statements to please his funders. Shame on a person who call himself “learned” or “Dr”. I doubt his educational levels. Did this man go to a reputable University? He is heavily compromised and does not mean well to the people of Zambia. PF do not adopt him to stand on your ticket in 2016 just use him. He is easily compromised. A doctor who doesn’t understand the constitution of his party. How can he honestly lift the suspension without NEC approval? Money can corrupt people to turn out as puppets. Dora is also next to issue the statement before the end of the week. They are idi0ts and f00ls so to speak. They have no manners at…

  7. This is always the problem with ama PhD ya mu old age. They are only obtained to prove a point and not to contribute to national or meaningful development

  8. A house divided cannot stand. As MMD let s not weaken ourselves and let the enemy get in. Remember together we stand, divided we fall.

  9. You mmd *****s grow up and give us some reasonable staff not all this noise daily. can’t you talk it out? shaaaa

  10. Since Kaingu and others, have failed, why should they drag the MMD down with them? The honourable thing to do is give way to those who can add value to the Party. These characters have conveniently ignored that after the loss of MMD which they caused in 2011,the Good Will of the Party was very low.If ‘Dr’ Kaingu and others were genuine, they would have worked on this lost Good Will before they can attract any new members.Dr Mumba is simply trying to rebuild this Good Will.Remember,he has taken Morality and Integrity as one of the important MMD Pillars in trying to gain the lost glory caused by Kaingu himself.
