Easter Message by HH

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema
UPND president Hakainde Hichilema

Colleagues, its Easter again. First and foremost let me wish all of us a happy and peaceful Easter. Not only is it time to reflect on our commitment to the Christian faith, but we should also reaffirm our commitment to the Christian nation proclamation for which the country is known.

Colleagues, by now we all know that the state of the nation is not what it should be in a Christian and democratic country.

We are seeing an increase in intolerance which manifests itself in many ways including violence, crime, outright defamation and closing of the democratic space especially by those in government.

Colleagues, these are difficult, but not impossible times. When the President proclaimed he would rule the country by 10 commandments, we were overjoyed and took him seriously.

But sadly, going by the current happenings, it appears he did not mean what he was saying and has completely renegade from this undertaking, in what has become his trademark.

And as predicted by some of us, amidst high prices of essential commodities such as mealie meal, the nation has again been handed down a fuel increase that will trigger an automatic increase on prices of other commodities and further bring a rise to the cost of living.

And all these hush measures are being undertaken against the backdrop of wage freeze for the next two years.

Colleagues the scenario above does not at all inspire hope. This is why as we reflect, let us seek solace from the fact that anything that is man made is not permanent.

Our lord and savior Jesus Christ conquered death. That is an inspiration enough to pray and believe that God will not let us down. It’s time to pray hard and action our prayers. Let us pray for wisdom, let us pray for prosperity, let us pray for our friends in Government, our friends in the opposition. Let us pray for peace.

Once more have a happy Easter weekend fellow countrymen and women.

  1. I have never heard of HH being overjoyed when Sata said that he will rule by 10 commandments. I have never seen or heard HH praising Sata on anything. No not once. To HH everything Sata has done is bad. Let me tell UPND that every human being has some good traits in them. HH can’t tell us that everything is bad about Sata. No. I am not PF but i try to be fair. I am not even a politician but I have seen that HH started condemning Sata from day 1 of his presidency. At least congratulate where the government where it is due. Although not all things may be right in Sata’s governance, at least they are making strides in infrastructure development that I have never seen before.

    • Iwe shut up!!
HH is even better to have started condemning this bafoon called Ukwa on day 1. KK and me condemned him before he was elected. We knew he has never been presidential material! I only lost KK after he was appointed the Dictator Mentor! Think of how bad the economy has become, the violence and high levels of lawlessness…what’s there to praise him about? we don’t just praise because we have condemned enough…we praise when the right things are done. Unfortunately, Sata hasn’t done anything to deserve that. Tell him….Haleisa Haleisa!!!!!

    • You are a PF cadre. No need to be apologetic.

This Sata that we have today is the same Sata we had in the past. The lies, violence, divisiveness, manipulation, confusion etc have been with him since he was born – they are intrinsic.

This is the same Sata that HH went with into Pact and HH knows everything. So my good friend, there was nothing good about Sata from day 1 that HH could talk about.

On infrastructure development, to the pace is just the same as it was in the previous govt, or even more chaotic and “plan-less”- so there is nothing special there.

    • Chi Chumbu, I’d.iot. You under 5 will kiss the dust again. That is the problem with HH supporters. Insults. Who do you think can entrust with the running of the country’s affairs, you stup.id dull chumbu. You filled with anger and envy. Am not PF but like the man in state house. You see he was chased from Ndola and no citizen on the Copperbelt gave it a damn thing. He is a nonentity on the CB, luapula, northern, muchinga, eastern, part of central, Lusaka, chongwe. That’s why HH will be a distant third because of you. Bloggers like you being used by HH is tarnishing his image imwe ba cow. People just look how stup.id you are and futile attempts.

    • This is what i wanted iwe chi ME! In your anger, you have shown us where you belong. You think you can cheat us that you are not a Kolwestan? You see how my intelligence has outweighed yours? You want to pretend to be a neutral blogger! We want to know you for who you are. I knew by provoking you, you would put off the sheep skin which you use, like the way Ukwa used it to get to state house. You must be Winter or one of his Militia leaders. You are beyond redemption. Swine!

    • I feel inspired by your message Mr President(HH). Your wisdom is so reassuring that things will be better under your leadership.

What message has Chumbu in plot 1 given to the nation?

If Chumbu does not change course now, come June July food riots will hit the CB and Lusaka. It is around this time that the strikes hit the major cities in 1990.

HH the only hope and help Zambians have at the moment.

UNPD and HH I am in!

    • @chumbu, am not PF and not a politician. I am just an ordinary citizen. I never voted for PFC but this time around am voting for them. You provoke other bloggers for no apparent reason. I am not even Bemba mind you. I am not like you who want by all means to have your tribesman in state house. Put your jealousy down and reason for once. You will die of heart attack. I am not PF sympathizer. You go and read how America was built. Maybe you will learn something with your thick head. I am intelligent with a masters in engineering and business admn.

  2. “.. It’s time to pray hard and action our prayers. Let us pray for wisdom, let us pray for prosperity, let us pray for our friends in Government, our friends in the opposition. Let us pray for peace”.
That’s the thrust of the easter message from UPND. No well meaning mature Zambian can find fault with that. Good message and well spoken HH.

    • Guys even if you want praise someone. HH started his Easter message with shots at the president, imwe ati good message. Read NAREP’s message to see the true message of Easter not this HH message hiding in thename of Easter but insulting the president. May God forgive you all and your HH. Peace to mother Zambia and to my NAREP

    • @ imwe guys, for the sake of clarity please be specific. Which sentence in HH’s message above do you find untrue and insulting to President Sata?..

  3. @ imwe guys, for the sake of clarity please be specific. Which sentence in HH’s message above do you find untrue and insulting to President Sata?

  4. I now understand the bitterness being exhibited by hichilema and his barking do.gs. If anyone can care to remember just prior to and during the early part of the counting of votes in 2011, there was a website that was ahead of ECZ and beautifully done. when it was clear that MCS was headed to victory, the website disappeared overnight and was never seen again on the net. That site was ZWD that convinced hichilema that he was the next president of zambia until it dawned on them that it was not to be. From the time HE was sworn in todate hichilema has been bitter and has NEVER said anything positive towards the president. All we see are tantrums on a daily basis. he even goes to lie just to discreidit the president.

  5. They say that when you tell a lie you need another lie to support the initial lie. hichilema lied to the nation that PF were training militia in Sudan and just a few days ago, he lied that “militias” were sent to kill him. Which militia? He is on record again lying that the President had gone to India for treatment yet he was in London. he never apologized nor showed remorse for the lies. He was lied to by the do’gs that he eats with and that had remained in his head hence the statements he makes like he is a head of state. Ati Easter message, to who? let him address it to his cows in the kraals he has.

  6. You know the points you have raised are valid and accurate when those opposing you fail lamentably to argue point-for-point, but instead resort to using childish bad language. Well spoken ba UPND and HH. Keep it up.

  7. I have no reason to condemn our current president for the current economic status of our country I believe one day things will improve mind you, even Rome was not built in one day Zambia is not the first country to have faced these economic challenges, if you remember very well, even USA experienced challenges during Obama’s first time in office until things were Iron out due to the fact that solidarity prevailed. I despise the opposition leaders who have been in bitterness and ever condemning Sata since day1, instead of putting our hands together to better our country all I see and hear is people in opposition pointing fingers on whatever Sata does, yeah no human is perfect but why not putting our hands together just like “one Zambia one nation” states and chart the way forward to see…

  8. Its s pity how HH followers insult the same people they want votes from yet they keep preaching of going to plot 1. shame

    • @Iamfras, for the sake of clarity please be specific. Which sentence in HH’s message above do you find untrue and insulting to President Sata? I am not a blind supporters of any political Party, but I support rational thinking, credible ideologies and evidence-based pledges.

  9. HH must be seen to be fair in his dealing with the PF. Some of us are non-aligned but we are watching from a distance. it seems to HH, everthing sata has done is bad. Sata has scored a lot of As. Every President has his good and bad side. right now we have Sata who is rebuilding out infrastructure which is a good thing. The next president will continue where Sata will leave off in 2021 and improve other sectors. And so the days will go on. Let us give credit where it is due.

  10. thou shall not lie. truth be told. this massage had nothing to do with Easter but the president. I now await insults as usual

    • @Iamfras, to para-phrase the message…
“..The political scenario at play in our Country does not at all inspire hope. Let us pray for peace….”
..In other words, lets persevere peacefully as Christ did thru prayer and not lose hope.
This is putting Easter message into context and making it relevant in the present. @Iamfras, please clarify how you find this message divergent.

  11. @Imwe guys, HH’s message is relevant to what is obtaining on the ground. NAREP’s message is so generic and meaningless that of the two bloggers who responded, one said something anti PF while the other’s contribution is to do with the impracticability of NAREP’s message. It is important to say something that is happening in our society so that it jells with the people. The lead story today on this site is talking about PF youths wanting to close down ZICTA offices. We have heard stories about these people locking government offices almost everywhere in the country. This lawlessness is snowballing at a very fast rate. This is what should occupy all our minds so that we find ways and means of getting rid of it. You are the type who will talk about the wonderful weather when your house…

  12. @cactus. now that’s Easter massage and you have just put it in its way. thanks a lot and may God help us through this hard time

  13. This is what we always say-you blogers esp thse suportng HH,what anger, hate speech and bitterness is ths? My game of politics is nt playd ths way.You are frustrated bane,ba chumbu, ndobo etc.bt u can do beta-jst drop your diapers and man up,ifya bu tonga vs bemba you cal kolwestans wil nt take u any were.Your HH to rule wil need all parts of the country and mind the gap in population terms.
