Ex-Zambia international midfielder Jericho “Russian Tanker” Shinde has now been included in the revised legends team to face Members of Parliament in a game to mark first republican President Kenneth Kaunda’s 90th birthday this month.
Shinde had fumed after being left out of the initial 18-member Zambia legends squad to face Lawmakers on 28th April at The National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
The Nkana legend and veteran coach said:”It is an insult that I have been left out of that squad because I played in the KK 11 team.”
However, Zambia legends team manager Stanley Kaseko said Shinde is in the squad even though his name was missing from the initial list released last week.
“He is part of the team tell him,” Kaseko said.
Shinde played for Zambia between 1981 and 1987.
He coached Nkana, Power Dynamos, Kalulushi Modern Stars and Afrisports.

sichikolo “kunta kinte”,litana, soko, sakala etc are they legends?i hope this game wil b played gud luck.
I think word “legend” made Jericho to be upset.
In legends team you can’t leave out:
– Patrick Phiri
– George Lwandamina
– Peter Kaumba
– Emmanuel Munaile
That team of abena Sichikolo, Tenant, Andrew, Tana, Saileti.. not to taking any credit out of them, but they are just “retired” Zambian players. Bring them, it will be exciting!!
please provide us with the photos of all these legengs although there are a lot out there from KK 11 that we havent heard or seen for a very long time. Find them and give them a special seat.
It will be an interesting match indeed hope the stadium will be ready by 28th April this year otherwise I see last minute change of venue
Marbles as usual.Who is this Kaseko?Zambian soccer cant go anywhere with this kind of mentality.I would understand if they said the KK XI legends Vs the Chipolopolo legends. We are backwards indeed.Manfred was a defender not a midfielder. What do u mean Mwila,Simutowe will be on the bench?GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.
COME ON JERICHO! HOW MANY REAL LEGENDS HAVE BEEN LEFT OUT AND ARE NOT FURIOUS? THINK OF THE LIKES OF BURTON MUGALA AND OTHERS? ARE THERE SOME ALLOWANCES INVOLVED HERE FOR YOU TO BE UPSET? IN ANY CASE YOU MAY NOT EVEN BE SELECTED TO PLAY AS ONLY ELEVEN LEGENDS WOULD BE PICKED.
HANG ON! MAY BE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR JERICHO AND OTHERS TO USE THIS AS A FORUM FOR JERICHO AND OTHERS TO TALK ABOUT HOW FAZ HAS BEEN HANDLING THEIR AFFAIRS LIKE APPOINTING A YOUNG AND INEXPERIENCED PERSON TO BE AN ASSISTANT NATIONAL COACH LEAVING OUT THE LEGENDS WITH FULL EXPERIENCE! YOU MAY HAVE A POINT JERICHO AND I DOUBTED AS TO WHETHER YOU WOULD BE FURIOUS FOR BEING LEFT OUT – JUST THE REASON OF BEING LEFT OUT! LET US KNOW WHAT YOU ARE FURIOUS ABOUT SO THAT WE SUPPORT YOU. GOOD LUCK.
While I appreciate some of your comments, I want to point out that Jericho is right by fighting for his inclusion rather than sit and complain. As this match is for intertaining KK and the croud, let everyone invited have time to play and show skills. My suggestion is 45min for everyone = changing the players after half time or introducing new team : )
where is johnstone bwalya ?
There is no ‘legend’ by the name of Morton-its Mordon Malitoli…..and if mean bloggers question your inclusin Mordon,I will draw them to the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations final when you played with a bandaged head for almost the entire 90 minutes to thankfully limit Emmanuel Amunike’s goals to 2 and gracefully deny the Nigerian assasin then Rashid Yekin a goal!!!!
You people, I thought Mordon Malitoli died, I remember reading this in the Zambian media years ago. If he is around then KUDOS, he was a delight to watch. Mordon and Kapambwe Mulenga are two defenders in the history of the zambian squad who would score goals because of their special technique of overlapping forward. Long live Mordon.
What about charles musonda and johnson bwalya
The right thing to do! Russian Tanker!
