THIRTEEN suspects facing various capital offences have escaped from a Police post in Lusaka’s notorious Chibolya Township.

The 13 are facing offences ranging from murder, aggravated robbery, theft from motor vehicles, breaking into a building, assault and petty theft.

Zambia police spokesperson, Charity Munganga-Chanda said the suspects escaped from lawful custody around 08:00 hours today.

“We are appealing to members of the public with information leading to the apprehension of the suspects to report to the nearest police station,” Ms Chanda said.

The escape of the suspects from Chibolya police post comes barely three days after a Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) operation in the notorious township where over 56 people were arrested for drug trafficking activities.

Both Police and the DEC have over the years struggled to clean up drug trafficking activities in Chibolya Township leaving the illicit drug dealers to operate freely selling cannabis, cocaine, heroin and other drugs openly.

    • The PF Constituency Chairman threatened the Police to release all PF cadres who were earlier nabbed failure to which they would all be dismissed or transferred to rural formations. That is why at 08.00hrs they were all released. The matter is closed.PF is happy and Police is also happy!!!!!

  1. What were they doing at the police post? Such suspects were supposed to be in remand y prison. You asked for it.

  2. The Police spokesperson cannot even feel ashamed to ask the public to help the police apprehend the escaped suspects!! Suspects escaping at 08:00hrs… unbelievable…

  3. These lunatics, ndobo and wanzelu are becoming boring. Hardly a post passes without their usual rubbish comments. Their fellow lunatic calling Engineer in Australia at least comments every three days at the most. Do these people work as security guards and have their mobile phones connected to the internet by their employers and are on hakainde’s payroll

    • @choncho, The fact that you are taking note on how often ndobo, wanzelu and others
make their postings on LT simply means that you too are always online.
The only difference is that you maybe on Sata’s payroll.

  4. Its good to note that Chibolya has not been left out in road rehabilitation despite harboring serious criminals and chamba mechants. Keep it up PF. Your works are being recognized by people who who are not politically myopic.

    • I agree with you Why they left them with the same corrupted Chibolya police

  5. I have always thought that drugs business has seriously big profits, but going by the Chibolya shacks i am beginning to doubt the DEC operation in that shanty. If it’s marijuana you were looking for then please just leave them alone. Let them enjoy the herb!
