Ben Mwanza tells Mbesuma not to retire

Share

Roan United captain Benard Mwanza believes Chipolopolo and Orlando Pirates striker Collins Mbesuma can play for more years before hanging his boots.

Mwanza was Mbesuma’s striker partner at Roan before the later joined Kaiser Chiefs in 2005.

Mbesuma has failed to break into Pirates’ lineup this year and his coach Vladimir Vermezovic claims that the striker’s body language at training suggests that of someone ready to retire from football.
But Mwanza said Mbesuma should be encouraged to continue playing.

“My friend should continue playing football,” he said.

Mwanza added:”My friend has a future in football and can rediscover
his old good form.”

He observed that a spate of injuries have negatively affected Mbesuma’s form.

“He has had many injuries and that has not done him any good,” he said.

Mbesuma has previously played for English side Portsmouth, CS Maritimo of Portugal and Turkey’s Bursaspor.

The 30-year old striker has also played for South African club’s Mamelodi Sundowns, Moroka Swallows and Golden Arrows.

  1. Actually soccer lifespan is very short so it is up to you soccer players to have a plan that can sustain you as a priority. Make the big money and invest it

  2. I agree with the writer, he shud work hard and get back to his form. The injury he sustained at the start of the season shud nt kill his zeal.
