A suspected PF cadre employed under the judiciary this morning deliberately rammed his car into a group of UPND supporters seriously injuring five. The injured were part of a  large crowd of UPND supporters that converged at the Magistrate Court to offer solidarity to their leader Hakainde Hichilema.

UPND deputy general secretary Kuchunga Simusamba confirmed that the injured were rushed to UTH and two have since been admitted while one is said to be critical condition.

Mr. Simusamba said UPND supporters were standing outside the magistrate court when the man identified only as Mwewa drove his Corolla VVTI at full speed and crushed into the cadres.

“It is sad that our members are now in hospital for no apparent reason. We have identified the vehicle that bashed them. It was being driven by a PF cadre called Mwewa who ran into our supporters and injured the five,” Mr Simuusa said.

He added, “the same vehicle that hit the cadres also rammed into my vehicle and damaged my vehicle extensively.”

Mr. Simusamba said one cadre has been critically injured with his leg broken into two while the other four are in stable condition.

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema later visited his injured supporter at UTH.

Meanwhile, the case in which Mr. Hichilema is accused of publishing false news with intent to alarm the nation has been adjourned to 3rd July 2014.

Mr. Simusamba said they could not continue with the case because of what transpired outside the court.

    • Zambians are really nice people.Someone deliberately plows into the crowd and they let the driver get away? Wow…So I guess its business as usual.Pf cadres continue to brutalise innocent people, the police turns a blind eye,the judiciary folds its arms,DPP enters nolle prosequi, the president Sata remains mute,Kwacha plummets and Zambians continue living in docility like nothing ever happened.

    • The PF cadres in the picture look dangerous and deadly. Fact. I wouldn’t risk being around them.

It is sad that such events are not being condemned by the government. It will get to a stage where the government will lose control and it will be total chaos for the whole nation. Sadly, according to Kabimba, “the guy who rammed the car is not a PF cadre but a common citizen”.

    • Violence of any nature by any political group has no place in our budding democracy and must strongly be condemned.

we can disagree on many things, but antagonism should not be tolerated

Perpetrators must be arrested, made to account and let justice prevail.

    • The injured should lodge claims for their injuries ,medication and loss of business against both the Insurance company if it is comprehensively insured and the owner of the vehicle which might turn out to be an OP motor car.

    • Now that there are less accidents on our roads, these agents of death have started causing new waves of accidents at the courts of Law. Mr Sata what is you position on this matter.

      We need Mr President to come on a number of issues, please stop the issue of hiding behind a key board on face book. Can you address the following;
      1. Why is the kwacha noise diving to the point of being the worst currency in the world
      2. why are you salient on that Indian who insulted the entire nation on you tube, while you are busy borrowing far less money
      3. why the escalation of violence to this level, do you want to destroy this country, “tufilile musenga” as you may put it
      4. why are you hiding from the people you are pretending to be ruling

Please attend to this pertinent issues on…

    • …these pertinent issues on National TV and Radio, not on face book which is a media not available to many Zambians.

    • Ba LT times who says he was a cadre? Next you will alarm the who nation. Be professional in your reporting, did the guy say he was pf ?

  1. Ba PF cadres there is job for in chingola – come with your pangas to sort out the indians at KCM!

  2. “…PF cadre employed under the judiciary…” Agh, LT are you ever going to print a TRUE story? Now, that i would love to see. Let’s leave out the judiciary and concentrate on the offender, prosecute and punish him!

  3. This is disgusting to say the least. It’s a crass and despicable act! What’s annoying is that this cadre will be enjoying a glass of gin in his home this evening while the innocent victims are scarred for the rest of their lives.

    • Why do they find themselves in such situations. Ichipwena. I personally dont feel for them as regardless of their parties.

    • upnd cadre paid to have his leg broken into two…… mmmm very painful in deed. bu cadre tefintu. my friend! you will be limping for the rest of your life.

  4. At this pace we are going, I clearly forsee so much blood letting in 2016. I bet for the first time in our history, Zambians will taste a battle amongst themselves in 2016. It is not a good thing to predict such a thing but I am logically compelled to make this prediction looking at what is currently going on.

    • @Meme Teacher: I feel the same too! I am one positive individual, always hoping for the best despite any situation. But these PF thugs are giving me little hope of calm and peace to wards 2016! This is so horrible!!! How can a sane person descend on people like that? Evil PF!! REALLY EVIL THUGS! Some thugs are not this evil!

  5. The devil is thirsty for blood for him to sustain his life for couple of months, this is very unfortunately and am sure the will be no any sensible statement from pf as a party and govt over this tragedy incidence.if it was in USA this man would have faced several charges, intend to commit murder, causing bodily harm, driving beyond recommended speed.not only will the mwewa go to jail but the victims can sue the state.all this is happening and majority of us continue with our daily lives,if pf does not change course it will revenge time when they will be out of office.

  6. This is not what we want and we cannot proscribe any humane behaviour to that devilish little uneducated, insensitive and unsympathetic little worm, Sata. He is simply confirming his conventional criminal conducts and, we shall drag his aging infested body to the Hague for crimes against humanity. Dead or alive, he will be prosecuted and if he dies before his marathon future trial, we will take his body into custody. Rest assured, he pay dearly and we will settle the accounts. There is soldier in the rain and there is no rain in the army. We are young, tactical, resourceful and very educated. In fact we among the most learned individuals on earth.

  7. This is a very sad development. Honestly how can the PF be so devilish and want to kill others just because they don’t agree with them? Is this the government we voted for? We need the authorities to get to the bottom of this and bring the culprit to book. What is Stella Libongani saying? Is she still going to blame the UPND cadres for being at the Courts? We need leadership change immediately. The PF have failed the country. They have dragged this country back to the Kaunda days when cadres used to beat people and get away with it as long as they belonged to UNIP. We must resist all manner of reducing our country to a lawless country. We have to unite as a people because next time these cadres will start coming in our homes and demanding that we comply with the PF’s manifesto. STOP…

  8. You are right, there will be war in Zambia very soon due to the party Zambians put into power.

  9. Well PF has been asking for a “friendly” war and since none of our neighbouring countries is interested in giving them a friendly war, they have turned their assault on innocent Zambians. This act will not be condemned by PF as it is part of their agenda.

  10. It’s sad that people have been hurt. However a number of bloggers have said it before. Why do our youth allow themselves to be used by politicians to such extents? These are able bodied chaps that should be channeling their energies into something more constructive. Politicians both from the ruling party and opposition, should not carry cadres to court!

    • I wish you knew who PF cadres are and what they are capable of doing. Why did the PF cadres even gather around the court? That in itself should give you a clue about PF cadres!!

  11. Am waiting for this donkey called Kabimba to say they were attacked by MMD cadres like those people who attacked HH in Ndola

  12. My only country I have is disintegrating while I am watching! My only currency I have is vanishing in thin air while I am watching! God of mercy, please save me.

  13. We should petition the international community to impose sanctions of those people perpetrating this violence. The sanctions should be extended to their spouses and families. It seems we have failed to deal with this problem internally

  14. Maharani, I agree with you. There’s no way people can just seat and watch someone plung into the crowed and do his foolish thing such that one’s leg is cut into two.
They should have arrested the driver and not take him to police but cut his legs aswell and the hands that made him drive simple!

  15. Honestly this needs to stop. Too much idleness in our country. Can some one explain to me what the point of these carders is? Day in day out attanding court proceedings for what? This diverts a lot of police resources which could be used some where else with much greater need. Can you imagine getting up every morning just to stand outside the court premises in support of the dear leader? For the sake of security and the safety of others party leaders should wise up expunge all their so called carders from such proceedings. They should only avail themselves during elections or when a verdict of a very important case like the one here is read…not everyday.

  16. Disgusting! The man who did that a son of a prostitute. As for those justifying this PF brutality, they are sons and daughters of a prostitute who bore them through the anus! It is time to oil my guns so they don’t jam…

  17. Though this is sad for the injured, it ios good for the opposition. This adds to the decampaigning message against PF that it is a very wrong party in governement. Surely it is typical of a political strategy straight from a Taxi Rank.

  18. Ok, where does Mwewa live?
Can someone post that here, I will personally get involved in forming a team to mine his house, thank you.

  19. The most worrying thing in Zambia under the PF is that Sata remains mute and unconcerned when his murderous thugs commit such violent acts. Can we then conclude that he is behind all this? What a beautiful country gone to the dogs!

  20. Deliberately rammed his car into a crowd of people? Zambians dont have such tendencies. There is something you aren’t telling us about this event. The story in itself is so one sided. Perhaps he was fleeing from something and then crashed his car into UPND supporters in the process.

    • Sure, mitigating circumstances. Yeah…… that’s the ticket……. like maybe he was drunk?

And who says a driver needs to be in control of the front of his car at all times? If Mwewa were fleeing from something it’s definitely OK to drive into a crowd of people no problem. Right?

      Eish…. some people!

  21. This story is incomplete… There is no infor on # plate of car,….@ corrupt cop, u re dull, insulting is failer to think and reason….

  22. I seriously doubt the person that was behind the wheel rammed into the crowd deliberately, let’s be caerefull with how these incidents are reported, why stir up trouble before the Police have investigated. Also to the lusaka times editor please refer to the individiual as alleged you don’t know for certain if that person was a PF cadre. Lastly sorry to hear that some people were seriously injured, I pray they get better and recover. Now as for Horrible Hater why can’t he be a man and fight his battles on his own and not aggitate people or create tension by dragging his cadres which results in such scenes. HH is a useless coward and plunderer that can’t hold his own. The courts will deal with him accordingly.

    • And you also seriously doubt that people in UTH have any injury, according to your pin-head reasoning, injured victims jumped in front of the car and HH was driving?
As to HH been “useless coward”, please can you remember one instance where any of your geriatric “semi-Gods” had courage to give interview, never mind walk the streets.
2020vision? More likely 5tupid brain washed jerk.

  23. It is unfortunate that such is happening in Zambia but the way to bring justice to this is not to depend on the police or court but give us the address for this man so that we can sort him and his family out. the police will not do anything.
its time the public put a stop to this pf confusion

  24. It is unfortunate that such is happening in Zambia but the way to bring justice to this is not to depend on the police or court but give us the address for this man so that we can sort him and his family out. the police will not do anything.

  25. Sata is destroying his legacy, with his evil supporters , he is going to be known for all these evil stuff like idi Amin

  26. So called Man of Action is only active on petty issues, or something irrelevant, that has nothing to do with governing the nation. The indian chap is busy giving us the middle finger and the president is busy aggressively focused on Chitimukulu, that he mustn’t be chief. Backwardness in Zambia is a congenital ailment. One previous head of state actually allowed a conman to convince him that ordinary grass, (including ulu nkoto) could suddenly transform Zambia into an oil sheikdom. Seriously! Millions of money in US$ exchanged hands between conman and Zambian people in return for oil utopia. You wonder why memoirs can’t be written by these ex-presidents! These memoirs would expose colossal stup!dity (ukupukuta) of our leaders. How you do you accept US$25m for a US$500b+ asset?

  27. That is pure terrorist behavior!
The problem is, PF is full of people who were raised like wild animals, with no values. PF is full of people with sub-human behavior ! .

And then the same fo.ols are wondering why the Kwacha is so poor. What sort of foreign investor would want to invest in an environment of sub-human behavior.

  28. Even on this blog you can tell that PF has too many sub-human people in its ranks. How on earth can a person justify such an act. Wow!!!!!

  29. We saw how fellow pf security men (plain cloth) who obviously were monitoring the attempted murder of our UPND supporters wisked the killer away hastely action which the police would be mere spectators if it was not one of them.

  30. It is very sad that such a thing can happen st Court premises although on Muvi Tv they reported that the Driver was a Security Guard. This could mean that the economy is very good fir Civil Servants , where they can afford to buy a car?.

  31. My Fellow Zambians, stop being so dull. What proof is there that this was a PF cadre? What proof is there that it’s not a UPND cadre … and that it’s not just a normal accident? You are rushing to conclusions and posting comments without facts! Can someone be quick to Listen and slow to comment!

You’ll bury our Country in lies, at the rate we’ve started going? Bwafya sana!!! LT, can you mind the way you report, at least on sensitive matters?

  32. Zambia needs Serious prayers and fasting until after 2016 elections including a day of National Repentance.

  33. We need a man to shower these minions with bullets from A.K47 and respect for one another will be restored. Otherwise the nonsense continues…..

  34. All l see is hate lies etc no truth. What were these PF and Upnd cadres doing there. Hh also fails to control his cadres he cant make a good leader. His cadres last time harrassed Kabimba at the courts. So these Pf also prepared to protect whats theirs as at now power to govern. That driver workd for judiciary not PF. Hh and his supporters should sober up and face facts as they are that they are only in SP period.PF also should govern without interferance from others who think they can do better. their time will come also.

  35. Everything is plotiticized in Zambia. Anyone who commits a crime is labeled PF! When PF was in opposition, these violent kids where in MMD and UPND where they artfully executed the Mapatizya formula. Hh should also grow up and show leadershipby regulating his supporters. The courts can do one their part by holding the trial in camera and indeed speed up this case. Why drag it for so long?

    • Are those UPND cadres who are nude and riding on top of speeding buses? Where is the seriousness for a party claiming to going into government? Kutali tuleya

  36. What else do u expect from a government of imbeciles like the PF administration ? Michael Sata scoffs rotten words and comments and do you think there is anything good or sensible that can come from his supporters ? Nothing at all. Deep down Michael Sata’ s hearts rests nothing but hatred and evil even all PF cadres especially the likes of Wynter Maize Kamembya, Given Lubinda and so on.

  37. The reporting is suspect. He probably lost control of the vehicle. The facts will be established in due course. Crashing into anything deliberately is suicidal. Having said that, my heart goes out to the injured

  38. y do pipo waist time in politics get connected to God not politics. politicians are all the same, even jesus at one tym thy wanted to appoint him as a king[politics] but he did not want to involve him self into politics.

  39. yuss!luck of nothin better to do but causin havoc @ the courts of law.I’ll b there @ the next hearin with my vehicle and i’ll equally cause extenssive damage by swipin them off AGAIN,tiyeni nabo PF GUYZ.
