APC president Nason Msoni says justice minister Wynter Kabimba has continued to hold on to the draft constitution due to his personal interest in the document.
Speaking in an interview Mr. Msoni said Mr. Kabimba’s ambition of wanting to become president is the main reason making justice Minister not release the draft constitution as he knows that the current constitution is defective and can easily be manipulated.
He said, “it is clear that Mr. Kabimba has ambitions of taking over from president Sata as this can clearly be seen in his campaigns which he is busy conducting country wide and he thinks holding on to the constitution will help him because he knows that some clauses such as the 50+1 do not favour him he stands.”
He advised the Minister to lying to himself that he can stand in the of the people’s wishes on the need for the constitution saying no one stands in the way of the people and wins as people always comes out victors.
And Mr. Msoni has warned the PF government against tempering with the draft constitution in any way.
He said the people of Zambia knows what is contained in the draft hence no one should change anything unless it is the people themselves that decides to remove or add something.
Mr. Msoni further said the constitution is a people’s document that Zambians decided to give themselves therefore no individual should try to doctor the document as people know what is best for them.
“We know what is contained in that document and anyone thinking to themselves that they can manipulate what is inside are cheating themselves as Zambians will not let them do that.
We will reject anything that has been changed, even if it is just a coma, a full stop or sentence that has been removed or added and take the people entrusted with the document to task,” Mr Msoni said.
Mr Msoni also advised Zambians to take a firm stand against the PF government and ensure that they demand for the immediate release of the document.
