MMD President Nevers Mumba is in Eastern Province as he continues to reorganize and mobilize the party.

Speaking when he made a stopover in Nyimba district, Dr. Mumba called on MMD members in the district to ensure that no one is allowed to divide them and destabilise the party in the province.

He said Eastern Province was the “bed room” of the party hence destabilising the party in the province would have serious consequences on its quest to bounce back to power in 2016.

Dr. Mumba told party officials who had gathered as early as 14 Hours Saturday but were only addressed around 19 Hours when he arrived that the in-fighting at the party’s national secretariat will soon come to an end.

He assured members that what has been happening in the party will only make it stronger and ready for the challenge ahead of the 2016 general elections.

And Dr. Mumba has called on members in the province to identify potential parliamentary candidates for the pending by-elections and for the 2016 general elections.

He said he was in the Eastern province to flag off the identification process for potential candidates and that it was the duty of members to ensure that they submit names of people that they can work with and will remain committed to the party after becoming Members Parliament.

He requested members to quickly recommend a list of names so that the National Executive committee can start working with the recommended individuals in reorganizing and mobilizing the party.

Dr Mumba further said the failure by the PF to deliver on its promises presented an opportunity for the MMD to bounce back to power in 2016.

  1. Kabimba was addressing a rally in Luwingu over the weekend. No attempted arrest of Kabimba has been reported. Police should allow Nevers Mumba to enjoy the same rights without intimidation.

  2. Dr Nevers Mumba has a good chance of being the next President by 40% to 50%. A lot of work and voter registration is needed by the New MMD especially to convince Zambians that MMD has reformed including the internal conflicts need to be managed and resolved successfully. Eastern Province, Central Province, Western, North Western is comfortably under MMD and a lot of work and voter registration needs to take place. Parts of Northern, Muchinga and Luapula province is comfortably under MMD and a lot of work and voter registration needs to take place.

  3. Lusaka, Copperbelt and Central Provinces may lean towards MMD depending on what will prevail few months before the elections so more work and voter registration need to take place in these provinces. A lot of work and voter registration needs to be done in Southern Province maybe with the possibility of a Vice President from that region. Dr Mumba needs to also enroll in an Economics degree to add to his Masters Degree in Public Policy

  4. Zambia has learnt the hard way and to bring the country back to it’s Economic standing and even perform even better than the past the country needs a President who not only relies on Technocrat but has also some subject matter expertise in Economics and can debate intellectually with them and also guide the technocrats where there are gaps. If the above steps can be undertaken it will boost the percentages to 50% to 60% of Dr Mumba being the next leader. Every vote counts and every voter segmentation needs to be won.

  5. HH can also be the next president, UPND need to work on some logistics to increase votes in the 2016 election and broaden their outreach. Currently HH stands at 40% to 50% in winning the elections with Southern , parts of Western and North Western comfortably under UPND. Lusaka, Copperbelt and Central Provinces may lean towards UPND depending on what will prevail few months before the elections so more work and voter registration need to take place in these provinces. Eastern province will require a lot of work as it seems to be the last province to make decisions during a political turn around.

  6. contd As for Northern, Luapula and Muchinga Provinces UPND needs to change it’s strategy by having 2 Vice President positions to destroy the media propaganda of tribalism by giving one of the positions to an influential politician from that region e.g Bwalya of ABZ etc. Voter Registration and a lot of work is needed in that region. If the above steps can be undertaken it will boost the percentages to 50% to 60% of HH being the next leader.

  7. As for the smaller parties they need to concentrate on winning Parliament positions versus Presidential they can endorse HH or Dr Mumba for 2016.

  8. There is a potential of registration of 1.8 million new voters with provinces having a range between 50 000 – 400,000 new voters based upon the current population of 53% adults and the current voters registered by ECZ. MMD and UPND need to wake up and go full force in registering new voters.

  9. I would rather vote for Nevers than anyone else. Nevers seems a much more reasonable person. He seems to be a person who would listen to others if confronted with a problem. Nevers, you have my vote, come 2016.

  10. I SAW SOMETHING ON FACEBOOK ABOUT 3 OR 4 MONTHS AGO SHOWING NEVERS PRAYING WITH THE BLIND, ALBINOS, WIDOWS, ORPHANS, DISABLED PEOPLE IN MISISI COMPOUND WHERE HE WAS INVITED AS GUEST OF HONOUR.

ANYONE WITH THAT CLIP PLEASE PUT ON YOU TUBE.

    • Katongo Nsambe, that’s why Zambia now needs a President who’s compansionate and relates very well with such marginalized persons.Yes Dr Mumba was there and he shared with me how happy he was to be there. He really felt at home.I really pray for this man for God to allow him rule this country, and Zambia shall experience freshness of hope.

  11. Trusting Mumba and the MDD is as good as allowing this country to continue sinking like what the PF has done to Zambians. Pastor mumba should continue preaching the word of God and not politics .Zambia needs Experienced Politicians who are able to stand pressure Rest in peace MMD you are gone and forgotten.
