Mpombo calls for a comprehensive update on Sata’s health, but Chellah insists the president is executing his duties normally

Sata returns 1

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President George Mpombo has said that Zambians are justified to worry and demand a comprehensive update on President Michael Sata’s health.
Dr. Mpombo said that this justification is based on the fact that President Sata is a national asset.

Dr. Mpombo told Qfm News in an interview that this is why concerns about President Sata’s well being should not easily by brushed aside.

He said that State House should issue a comprehensive update on the President’s health in order to clear the impression that has been created in people’s minds with regards the President’s health status.

Dr Mpombo said that the apprehension that has been created in people’s minds cannot be cleared by merely dismissing as politicking assertions that the President is unwell.

He said that such random statements are only fuelling the apprehension in the country, hence the need for State House to clear the speculation surrounding President Sata’s health.

But President Sata’s Special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah has told Qfm news in a separate telephone interview that it is not necessary for State House to discuss the issue of the Head of State’s health any further.

Mr. Chellah said this because the President is well as evident from his engagement today when he swore-in Lusaka lawyer Mumba Kapumpa as Zambia’s Ambassador to South Korea and Salome Mwananshinku as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Malawi.

Mr Chella said that this was a clear indication that the Head of State is well and is executing his duties normally.

He said State House would have been more than willing to invite Dr. Mpombo to State House if his intentions were to really get a confirmation of President Sata’s well being.

  1. Just from watching the president on ZNBC 19 hrs news.He looks a bit tired and stressed but no doubt fit.Lets stop making his health status a big issue and instead concentrate on things that can help move us forward as a nation.Too much for cheap gossip and politics.

    • @Saulosi Very good that you accept that he is tired, Guy Scott need to step-up his work so his friend can sleep long ours.
And that Mpombo is too late to come and talk of “healthy”, many of us wisemen have said enough, we don’t need anyone and everyone to discuss Yama’s health status. He is working, he strongman, and thats ok, very inspiring.
Unlike Mpombo, just a cough, ati no no I can’t attend my court case of forgery!!

    • @Nostradamus…Yes man.We have to face reality at the end of the day.It was all in his voice and face that he is very stressed. He needs a bit of rest and probably drink more pure juice. He should go to mfuwe for a week or something.

    • @saulos.kikikikikikikikiki.atleast you have now accepted that the python is slowly dying.ati he looked tired,of doing what? Sleeping at nkwazi house or swearing in his tribes men? Let the man step down before he drops dead.

    • @Nostradamus
You missed the point boi!,,,,,,,,resting, drinking more pure juice and probably a drip of manzi amoyo,,,is not the answer,,,,,, the point is Dr kaseba by the side and serving those drinks,,,, when she went to Geneva, she strongly hinted not coming back to nkwazi house . hence the dehydation and depression,,,,, it had to take ba Kaunda down on his knees to correct things,,, thank God we have a life today,,,,,

this headless road running road construction especially with problems at nkwazi was also not helping

    • @dobo farmer at least he is not as bad as what the biased online media wants us to believe. He might be a bit off colour but the cobra never goes under for too long.Very soon he will embark on a countrywide tour .Watch this space.

    • Don`t forget your prayers for the mighty cobra before you go to sleep ladies and gentlemen. At least for those of you who watched the news saw that he is not what the biased online media wanted us to believe.

    • @saulosi – a chola mulenga mwativuta ngako!!! tikuziwani sono!!!! But ka advice ba kalamba, how did you watch znbc from where you are? Let me know. Am serious, am not being sarcastic. Is it online olo your television subscription yalikwata znbc? kuti naine nafwaya ndetambako znbc.

    • @soulosi
Amen! but i choose to pray for GBM as he struggles to fight off his enemies…… and i also remember those in chibolya going thru a hard time at the hands of DEC,,,, after the 90days jobs failed to come thru….
not forgetting mama Dr kaseba an inoccent victim in all this health threathening stress of your cobra

    • @Zagaze go to the Znbc website you will watch ZNBC tv live@ndobo that is also good.I respect your opinion and thinking pattern bro.Keep it up

    • @Saulosi – awe bakamba mwabomba. I visited the site some year or so ago and it never worked, buti apa its working. Awe kwena Natasha. Uushi tasha pafinono, napafingi takatashe. Mwabomba mdala.

    • @Saulosi

Sata tired doing what; Swearing in two individuals? The man is under heavy sedation and struggles to breath on his own because his lungs are damaged.

Its better to admit that the man is sick than beat about the bush .saulosi,Such diplomacy about some one’s illness is catastrophic.

    • @Zagaze bwalwa nshi mulenwa kanshi?? Kekekekeke, nakumfwa shata lelo. Don’t forget to watch “Chintobentobe” tomorrow morning on ZNBC TV.
Na bola tulatamba mudala, ni mwa SATA!!!!

    • ba nostradmus ba kaamba ifwe nika JD na Coors mdala. Buti na ka budweiser kuti twaitila nga muleshita.

  2. Ba George how many times has Chellah told the nation that the president is okay contrary to Zambian watchdog reports ? The government has been saying it all along.Your call is lame.

    • Its no secret Zambians economy is doing badly,Zambia’s democratic principles have faltered under PF,intolerance and violence are on the increase. When will people learn that the country and its destiny is greater than one person. Its clear peoples job will be on the line if Sata ceases to be president.Whats upsetting is that Zambia is allowing itself to be mislead by that Evelyn Hone college journalist.Come on! That 5minute swearing in ceremony was cosmetic. Its not in Zambia’s best interest to keep going down the path we have been going the past two years.Everyone working at statehouse is on edge.People are being asked to go against their principles to protect the selfishness of a few bad men.Our future is a stake.Youth have to get a hold of their destiny, their future….

  3. Everytime Chellah says that the president is okay he gets accused of lying so it won’t make any difference if he or any of the governments spokesperson makes a statement

    • Let President Sata hold a press conference then we will believe.Let him open Heroes stadium then we will believe he is well.

    • ‘Future of Zambia’, is there no mental Hospital near you? If there is, they should take you there immediately.

  4. The fact is that his health has failed him. Honestly when you listen to the tone of his voice its clear he came from a treatment room. And then the breaking in the speech itself!?? I Love HEMCS, but lets not over use him on the expense of his health. Wishing him a quick recovery. Long live my president you are a hero to many of us.

    • i just looked at that picture in the article which was taken today,,,,, every by-stander in that picture is terrified as look he/she looks on the president signing,,,,, was the president violently shaking or what??

    • Ha! His health has failed him? No it is the cobra who has failed his own health. All those decades of hard smoking have weakened his body. Add to the fact that the man is full of hate and all that bile has poisoned his body. Sulphuric acid tends to do more damage to the vessel in which it is contained than the object onto which it is poured. Nevertheless we will still pray for the wellbeing of Mr Sata.

  5. Ba watchdog fipuba sana. Its expected of any human being to fall sick and its normaly not ones wish. Its immoral in the african set up to celebrate ones sickness. Be mature ba watchdog. M****** MWE!! Our president will see us thu 2016

    • But you forget that Sata used to mock his sick opponents including Levy and George Kunda. Who called Levy a sick man and cabbage? who was the first one to mock Goerge Kunda’s illness and calling him red lipped? You Christians sing a song ati Lesa ni malyotola. What does it mean?

  6. Chale Katongo is working hard no wonder the Kwacha is nose divin; perhaps that it neutralises his enormous salary that he does not deserve. Yes pf cadres your president does not deserve half of what he earns. He is a bigger thief than RB was.

  7. Watching from afar the reactions of most bloggers over the president’s current health situation in the last days has just given a very good picture of how greedy and selfish Zambians or humans are! It is a true reflection of what man is made of, if you read all the responses you will be amazed to take note and realise that man is very evil thats why this world is the way it is. This has just openned up my eyes that Zambia will Always remain in it’s current state unless people change! All of you callling Sata all sorts of names are in actual fact the same, infact a true reflection of him! Read through your reactions and search your hearts, if you truely are real, you will find out that you are as evil as you see him, for what comes out of you is infact the real person that you are!

    • @cindy
its not greedy or selfish reaction from bloggers and am one of `them`,,,,,,, cindy president Sata in his hey days MADE sure those who were sick or ill felt the pain his mocking words….. well what goes aound comes around,,, and the rest is history…..

imagine HH become president of Zambia and failed to deliver and up the kwacha….. do you think the same Zambians will forget his expert criticism of he immediate past govt?,, i like Chipimo and ba Miyanda,,, they makes sober statement,, they do mock,,, therefore it will be unfair to mock them

    • Hi Ndobo,
Thats exactly why I dont understand, if he Sata is the devil as most of the people call him, are you going to be the devil too? Is this how we are going to make this world a better place by holding grudges? c’mmon, we are better than that…….infact I believe in the opposite, if you want to grab back your bread crumb from a chicken what do you do? You take it easy and behave as if noting is amis, when it is calm, jump on that chicken!
It’s just so sad that people can make fun of each other were natural causes take control. If he did that to others, you have no place in taking revenge whats so ever, for time the greatest and most powerful than you and me will deal with him, but if you do it and make excuses for it, you are unfair as you see him period!

    • @ Ndobo,
Dont you some how think that maybe the same way you guys and pouring scorn on him because he did it to others maybe the say way he did it to them? Maybe someone did it to him in a differnt manner or to someone he cared for! He may have reasons why he carried on the way he did. Ironically, the circle keeps moving for you are all doing what you believe he did, which brings me to asking all you guys this question………… Is it going to be okay some where in the future for someone to behave the same way to any leader caught in the same act now? Tell me the science and interlligence behind this spectacle that Zambians are displaying! I shall rest my case, am not saying he has been a perfect man or leader, we all have blemishes and faults!

    • @cindy
i hear you and understand your point fully,,,,, you are a great woman just like my mother,,,, peace loving, always building and bring people together regardless,, your heart is rare cindy.
however President had a perfect opportunity to stop all this hate and vengence nonsense,,, regardles of the evil past like mandela by turning a fresh page,,, but what did he do? start conflicts instead,,, he takes RB to court,,, baroste saga,,, chitimukulu saga,,, GBM saga the list is endles…. i hope Sata starts listenng much more to the common people on the street not kabimba,,,, thats were reconciliation starts,,, otherwise you gat a point to me and everyone else including president Sata

    • Iwe cindy, human beings are good, only the human kind is terrible. Kaili Human is combination of Hue + Man. Which a man of color (black man) happens to be. kaili hue is color. Nomba these you call whites are humankind. that is they are only a kind of human not full humans. they are the ones who are evil. If you want to see real evil, look at their history and what they are capable of and you will most definitely agree wi th me. We humans are good, fwe bantu tulibasuma sana.

    • @Ndobo, the other day you were calling @Cindy,” hi hi sugar, wee chisankonde cakulya ndeitomona”. Now today you add some respect that to extent of comparing her to your mother (Ba Auntie). If this is how you decide to let Cindy go, I will be more than happy to give her a romantic weekend. Not ifi ifya malwele malwele… Some of us have duty to offer what women, including Kaseba, deserves…. In sickness or happiness, it death!!

  8. The tight fitting suit and a crew hair cut still does a poor job of telling the nation the president is healthy. He is very sick, the picture spells it all. Of course the steroids he was given the first time he was resurrected to appear in court were insufficient to hide his ailment. Now it looks like he has been given a heavier dose of deadly chemicals, but to the discerning eye the president is very sick. Lets all please wake up to reality and force a medical review of the president’s health.

  9. Zambians, wired with denial. U always learn the hard way. U never learn. U mean u didnt see on tv that mbuya is very sick and struggling? Someone like that at 75!

  10. Sata is like an animal about to die were ticks wont let go till blood stop flowing before they look for another host. Sata is the life line for these ambassadors. Dc’s . Cabinet ministers. Gorge chellar .list goes on. They wont give up till he is burried

  11. did u pipo watch the same znbc for u to say our president is well? Bufi! He was strugling to stand. His voice was breaking. Actually he was using all his strength to talk. He was too brief. Chella was very scared praying that what they see in private should not be public. I felt pity for my Father the president. Please dad, while u have the strength save yoself. Ur nt fine. That picture has confirmed my fears.

  12. The same day they tell kaingu to tok abt sickness is the same day they force the president our father to display his sickness. These pipo have no mercy

  13. The State House barber will be fired! He almost gave Ba Katongo a potato cut. What a shock ba Charlie Kay’s would have had when looking in the mirror,

  14. We can argue all we can and justify the President’s health because of the news on ZNBC. We can create a stage to show the nation and the world that HE Michael Katongo is well but all that has been done today in the swearing showroom has not explained why he didn’t show up at the honoring ceremony of heroes were Guy Scott officiated and Katongoz absence from Heroes Stadium were the advance party had gone. If President Katongo loves Zambia, he should resign and allow healthy people to take over. We don’t need another Presidential funeral. Perhaps he could have acted as the interim President narep is talking about, enact the constitution and leave the stage. If you can’t see the state of the President, you will and if don’t hear then you will dream. You can fool some but you can’t fool…

  15. …for me this flip flop scenario shall only the settled by Dr Kaseba period…..without bringing in the constitution requirement of a team of doctors, she is the only one under the circumstance who I can take a word about the condition of the presido. Anyone else nep…..
The way our journalists are chasing Chellah for the info, let them chase Dr Kaseba the same way for the info…
If she says the presido is well and fit, I will sit back and relax

  16. *****
Scrutinizerer you are stevie wonder, no need wasting anyone’s time or chasing anyone for information, God gave us eyes to see and Brains, we need to hit u with
a sando to open up your brains

  17. Did u watch muvi tv? Please forget about Sata is dead. Tht crip he did last week frIday not yestaday. Jst know tht things are bad. Believe me u Sata is no more.

    • “President Sata is a national asset.”

Dr. Mpombo should go back to school and really pay attention to his professors expounding on what is an asset and a liability. Mr. Sata may be public property but this property is a liability not an asset. Anything that takes money out of your pocket, an expensive car that gulps tons of fuel and cost you a leg and an arm to service, an expensive wife with ridiculous demands, a president who tarnishes the image of your beloved country, a ruthless and heartless dictator who thrives on bullying and intimidating innocent people, now that is a liability. Mr. Sata is a liability.

  18. Chaona muzako chapita mumawa chili paili iwe….Mrs Kobra will soon join Vera and Moreen as Kobra await welcome by Kafupi and Ba Kabichi

  19. On ZNBC 19hrs news his voice sounded like he was about to cry. I thought he was trying to imitate the late Levy, but I realised it was serious. He is sick.

  20. Do not put your put your trust in man, the likes of your useless President Michael Sata but rather put your trust in God and His Son Jesus Christ because they are the ones who are going to truly redeem you. Useless people.

  21. It’s not over until God says so. So keep on hating you haters you will be surprised he will live longer than some of you who wish him dead.

  22. Who cares even if your dead dog lives longer than expected. After all, what positive input is he making to the general public and the nation other than exhibiting his folly day in and day out ? Only imbeciles like you will keep singing songs of praises the fool because you are birds of the same feathers.

  23. Thats why I don not go for church services. Some of you the way you behave and manifest hatred, but on Sunday busy naka tie praising God and lamenting aleluja ! And on Monday very busy agitating violence, gossiping about the President’s health and other un Zambian negative sentiments. Are you all from Chibolya compound?.

  24. Who in his or her right mind would be interested in the death of another president, when it was less than a decade ago that we got orphanaged? The frightening reality though is that, no matter how much we want to wish it away, we are standing on the edge of a dark precipice. God forbid we don’t fall in and crash. And God forbid our dear president does not decide to take leave too soon too early. The gaping reality though is that he might.

Masters of intrigue though I believe we are, few, if any, among us, are able to withstand the mere contemplation of this nagging reality. It would be too soon, indeed deserving entry in Guinness book of records, considering what we have been through not too long ago. May be we should just lough it away and move on!
