FORMER MMD vice president in charge of politics Michael Kaingu, who has been stripped of his position, has vowed never to leave the party.

Dr Kaingu alongside four others was stripped of his position by the party’s top organ, the National Executive Committee (NEC), last Saturday.

The others who were also stripped of their positions are vice-president in charge of administration Brian Chituwo, party spokesperson Dora Siliya, chairperson for tourism Lucky Mulusa and national youth secretary Tobias Kafumukache.

The group has been spearheading calls for the resignation of MMD president Nevers Mumba for allegedly failing to run the party.

Dr Kaingu, in an interview in Lusaka yesterday, cited his lengthy stay in the MMD among reasons why he can’t leave the former ruling party.

He explained that he joined the MMD in 1991 and as a ‘very old member’ in the party, he therefore cannot leave.

“Being vice-president was just a privilege. It was not a terminal thing,” he said.

Dr Kaingu, who is Mwandi lawmaker, said he will now focus his energies on his constituency.
“They have now given me the opportunity to focus on Mwandi, which voted me into parliament,” he said.

Mr Mulusa said in a separate interview that he has accepted NEC’s decision to strip him of his position, although he is still studying the matter.

“We all are studying this situation because we are servants of the people. This development will be shared with our supporters from all categories of life,” he said.

Mr Mulusa said he will consult his supporters, especially those in his constituency.
“The views of my supporters and those who believe in my cause will find the way forward,” he said.

Mr Mulusa hopes that by the end of this month, he will have a position on the matter.
And Mr Kafumukache said he will equally not leave the party because his parents helped found it.

Speaking in a separate interview, Mr Kafumukache said the decision by the party to remove him from his position has not dampened his spirit to remain committed to the party.

“Unless my family tells me to leave the party, then I will leave but for now I will remain committed because my true allegiance is to society, which is bigger than the MMD or even Government,” he said.

Mr Kafumukache said he will take time to reflect on the party’s decision.

Efforts to get Dr Chituwo failed as he was reportedly out of the country on parliamentary business while Ms Siliya’s mobile phone was not reachable.

    • The wounds MMD inflicted on the people of Zambia are still fresh. Even the MMD leadership have from time to time commented on the high levels of corruption that existed in their party. You had a chance to build roads, schools, hospitals etc.. but instead you chose to party day in day out.. Who in his or her right frame of mind wound want to bring back such a party, to come and still again, no no no! MMD you can comfort yourselves with illusions of coming back to power, know that the Zambian people are not stupid. As you go around the country campaigning please take a look and enjoy driving on the newly constructed roads by PF.

As for Mr. Kaingu he is the most inconsistent leader I have ever seen – I can’t say anything more.

    • In fact no one is pushing this spineless kaingu and his cronies out of their impotent MMD

Please stay in there (MMD) together with your Dora, Chituwo Mulusa etc as you have now been declared political garbage by your own party.

    • MMD you have done the most honorable thing to get ride of these people. For Kaingu, the cash you got from the offices along that road will soon visit you.

In life it helps to reflect on the past and learn lessons where you can. If I was given a chance to vote today, I would certainly vote for MMD. They are the most democratic and progressive party Zambia has ever had. Even the way they have dealt with these 5 traitors is testimony to that. They did not use borrowed money to build roads, schs and hospitals but prudently managed the economy and build Hosps and roads within what we could afford. But we believed in the fake Post headlines that the MMD is the most corrupt party in Zambia. The post never told us why the hated the MMD so much (K14b) but fooled us with promises that PF will curb corruption and use that money to “develop” Zambia. Its seems corruption is worse now, so which party would you vote for today?

Given the chance, I’m just wondering which party you would vote for today? I would certainly be voting for MMD as they remain the most democratic and progressive party to have governed Zambia. Even the way in which they have dealt with the 5 traitors is testimony to that. It is always important to reflect and learn from the past where we can and clearly it is now evident that “devil we knew was much better than the wolfs we now have”. The MMD may have been corrupt but the Post f00led us with screaming headlines. But we now know it was only to avoid paying back K14b. MMD never borrowed to build Zambia, they built schs, Hosps and roads and managed the economy within what the nation could afford and we paid less for mealie meal and fuel.

  1. I never realised all along that this man was not a real leader. These must be the people that destroyed the MMD. He should never be allowed to play any further roles in Zambian leadership. Let him go and attend to his wives. He is so un reliable and unprincipled, saying this today that tomorrow like a rabid stricken mammal. Why cant he just keep quiet. Are these the kind of leaders we really entrusted to run our affairs. Its a shame really.

  2. MMD under a flabouyant illusionist Nevers in gone forever. PF is was just nightmare and now completly gone with the departure of Sata. The battle is between HH and Chipimo. HH is winning in 2016 and he will stabalise the economy ,but he will only last for 5years. Due to tribalism by his henchment HH will lose to Chipimo in 2021 . Chipimo will bring back pride to mother mother. He will bring pride to African politics.

    • Are you under the influence of alcohol or drugs? How did you work out that HH will win in 2016 but only rule for 5 yrs because of tribalism then hand over to Chipimo in 2021? Chipimo doesn’t even have a single MP and his friend HH’s UPND has being losing position in Parliament.
No knows what will happen in 2016 let a

    • No one knows what will happen in 2016 let alone in 2021. Just sit back, relax and watch as events unfold.

    • @msana wanzili. You think the bemba dialect, the biggest vote block will allow HH go for 10years. No way mind! HH will win due simply majory clausse in the current constitution. Come 2021 the bemba dialect will sponser their own son including MPs. Dont be naive

  3. Why should VOW asthough you’re being forced to leave. The truth is that you know that your handlers (PF) are a sinking Titanic!!!

  4. This marks the end of Dora Siliya in the public domain! For her, MMD out of Govt, Not MP anymore, Not MMD spokespersonanymore; What next now, Dora?

  5. With such statements from these MMD members, what position does it leave the Northern Province PF invitations that they join PF? You guys stick with GBM. He is one of you and he too worked had for PF. Instead of wanting birds in the air, you have GBM at hand. Those MMD members you are courting mufungufungu uwalalike kapoli insala. Do not loose Kasama by letting go GBM, especially with his connections to Paramount Chief and subjects. Its a plus vote for PF unless squint thought suggest otherwise.

  6. Kaili you have not achieved, your mission to cripple mmd.why leave stay there until you complete the mission, otherwise tu kapusana ba kaingu.

  7. Iwe Mulusa there is nothing to study here you have been sorted out we warned not to join Dora that ws a stupid move just look for a job period.

  8. KAINGU is right and principled it is those NEC Members who are pretending to support NEVERS MUMBA when they are scheming against him in dark corner meetings and by the time this pastor will realize it will be too late. For KAINGU I salute him bcoz he says what is in his mind there and then. IF NEVERS has not learn anything from this then he is not a politician, this is a wake up call for him, but what I know same pipo who are supporting will kick him out very soon. just wait and see

  9. iris will replace him at sometime. She made so much money from the porn video, so her father will be financially comfortable for now.

  10. I am oneof the people who never gave much chance and hope for Nevers. But with each passing day I am amazed at how things are turning out and his ability to overcome every obstacle laid before him. If he keeps going this way, he definately has my vote whether in a Presidential by-election or 2016.

The best decision ever was NOT to expel these characters but to strip them of their titles in NEC. This way they can expel themselves by resigning and willsave MMD time and money.

  11. do you realise the so called trators fully supported mumba to ascend to power? so why did pf not corrupt them when MMD was looking for a leader? Mumba has shown that he is a pompus president because he should have sat down with the people that he found in the party. even during mwanawasa time he was fired because of being power hungry.since he took over MMD, it seems like UPND has become stronger which is worrying for a party i support

  12. and for Dr Mumba supporters please enlighten us with his policies and vision rather than the same old he is a man of God defence.

  13. Mr. Kaingu is a big let down, he is talking every day, Kulibe nchito, kulibe vochita. Dora has got no manners. Let me not waste time on her. Mulusa seems to follow the wind. The other guy Kafumukache is just yapping and yapping – no work. Chipani chingayende bwanji pasogolo imwe sure? Work together imwe banthu, PF has lamentably failed osakaika nokaika lamentably pa chizungu, meaning complete failure.
