Veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga has called for more dialogue among political parties in the country as it an essential culture in a democratic society which should be embraced by all politicians including those in government.

Speaking in an interview Mr. Mwaanga observed that lack of dialogue among political players can lead to unnecessary tension in the country as it creates mistrust and misunderstandings in among political party leaders.

Mr. Mwaanga who is popularly known as VJ and saved in the two previous governments said he would like to see more dialogue especially between the opposition and the ruling party as the country is going through many challenges which needs input from all stakeholders especially the opposition.

He said dialogue and engagement between the opposition and the ruling party which he observed is at its minimal with the PF as compared to previous regimes, will help share ideas on how to develop the country and move it forward as everyone will be pulling in the same direction as regards the developmental agenda of the nation.

“What I would like to see is more dialogue among political parties especially with the party that is in government because the culture of dialogue is an important culture in any democratic society coz by doing that, they interact and exchange ideas on many things which concern the country,” Mr. Mwaanga noted.

He added, “when doesn’t happen it could lead to unnecessary tension and misunderstanding which can be avoided through dialogue.”

  1. Maybe Mwaanga hasn’t got it yet but I hope he will, you just don’t dialogue with PF/Sata. They are immunized against reason, logic or anything that makes sense. Mr. Mwaanga when are you going to learn that Chumbu Munshololwa means some one who can never be corrected/straightened and Sata has proved beyond doubt that he is that potato. But you are still harping on dialogue, with who? It would be more practical and beneficial to all if you suggested fastest ways to get rid of the vermin, PF/Sata, not just making political statements that means zero.

  2. I smell a rotten fish here. Suddenly we’ve began to hear more and more of the once-almost forgotten voice of VJ. The Chewas have a proverb which goes “…Galu wamkota sakandila pacabe”; meaning an old dog never digs a hole where it doesn’t suspect something has entered. Watch this space!!

  3. VJ,inter-party dialogue can only be useful when you have a republican president who is mentally normal.Ailing dictator Michael Charles Katongo Mwango Chilufya Sata is not capable of understanding what inter-party dialogue is.Let us concentrate on struggling for a new constitution.Sata is ruining Zambia politically and economically because of his terrible governance.
