Non-Governmental Organization Coordinating Council NGOCC Executive Director Engwase Mwale has advised Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili to stop making wild statements on the constitution making process.

And Ms. Mwale has charged that her organization has stopped taking the Sports Minister seriously because his statements are very uncoordinated and in most cases lack merit.

Speaking in an interview Ms Mwale said Mr. Kambwili should be well versed with tenets of a democratic society and that the Minister should not be making wild statements which are not in tandem with what is obtaining in the country.

She said it is unfortunate and disappointing that a person who should be part of a group of individuals entrusted to run the affairs of the country can be making such suggestions over a very important document which the government should be in-charge of.

“We strongly believe that the Minister is clearly out of step and we are requesting to the executive to take charge of the constitution making process and ensure that they provide the direction as well as the road map.

Seriously as NGOs in the country we do not take Honorable Kambwili seriously any more because his statements are very uncoordinated and I think it will be very hopeful for this country if the Minister can take time to ensure that he is in tandem with what is happening also that he is tandem with appreciating the governance and democratic tenets of this country,” said Ms. Mwale.

Ms. Mwale added that the Minister should be aware that the constitution making process is an important process which requires seriousness from leaders and that leaders should ensure that they do not take the Zambian people for granted.

She also called on government to hid to people’s demands on the constitution making process as it boarders on the supreme law of the land hence the need for their full participation.

Ms. Mwale was commenting on remarks attributed to out spoken Minister Chishimba Kambwili who is quoted in the media as challenging CSOs and Opposition Political Parties to fund the constitution making process because government has prioritized development of country.

Meanwhile the Grand Coalition on the Release of a People Driven Constitution has challenged Mr. Kambwili to show them the constitution as money for the process is not an issue as there are some partners ready to fund it.

Grand Coalition Vice Chairperson Beatrice Grillo said claims that government does not have money are unjustified as the country has been known to mobilize funds for less important things in a blink of an eye giving an example of the bonuses given to the footballers after they won the Africa Cup in 2012.

She noted that there was no budget allocation for the bonuses but footballers were splashed with millions hence telling the nation that there is no money for such an important undertaking does not make sense.

Ms Grillo who is also NGOCC board chair reminded the PF government that Zambians where not there when they wrote their manifesto in which they promised Zambians a new constitution within 90 days.

    • Awe Bana Mayo donti start putting our football down, that is the only thing remaining making us Zambians a bit happy.

    • utterances that emanate from kambwili’s mouth are a clear manifestation of his low level education. and dullness of course. if you want to buy a vehicle you plan for it and not vise-versa. zambians want a new constitution hence pf should plan for it not these dull arguments we are hearing. besides who is he to talk on behalf of ministry of finance?

    • Listen:
He is entitled to make whatever statement he desires as long as it has the blessing of the most important man in the country, Mr sata.

This NGO should not be defying Mr Kambwilil who has acted exemplary since embarking on, lets be honest here a very difficult job in PF.

The constitution at best is trivial and, as we have a working constitution at present Mr Kwambwili has merely been responding to the people wanting to hear a thing it.

Sidestepping from all this, there is a lot of illusions and name calling, finger pointing on the Kwacha, the terrible somewhat adverse exch rate of it, is largely because of MMD, they left the economy in a terrible state and all PF has ended up paying is the price of rectifying a falling economy undone by MMD.

      All because of MMD
      Thanks

    • What’s wrong with him expressing his opinion?
Is this constitution saga that sacred that only the ” annointed” are allowed to exercitie their right in making statements including yourself madam?
All Zambians can talk about it however they feel as everyone is bound and tied to the constitution, it is upto you to take, disregard and digest, what applies and makes sense to you, but you cant forbid anyone express their right, thank you!

  1. Kambwili is known for issuing foolish and divisive statements which are meant to please ailing dictator Michael Charles Katongo Mwango Chilufya Sata.If a country has mediocre politicians such as Kambwili no economic prosperity can take place and poverty can never be eliminated.
PF riff-raffs like Kambwili fear to lose their ill-gotten wealth and positions if a new constitution is enacted. The Grand Coalition should ignore Kambwili’s absurd statement.

    • In fact people have misunderstood Kambwili. He is on the people’s side, and not on Kabimba’s constitution side.

  2. In short,Ms Mwale is saying kambwili is childish and that no person,in their right frame of mind, should take whatever he says seriously.

    • Please leave this CLOWN to continue making his ridiculous statements! I am enjoying watching him shoot himself in the foot! Soon it will be BOTH FEET!

We should build another stadium for him to name DISASTER. And feed him some more, so we can watch a FAT USELESS PF MINISTER explode!

      Hahahaha!

    • Ms Grillo who is also NGOCC board chair reminded the PF government that Zambians where not there when they wrote their manifesto in which they promised Zambians a new constitution within 90 days.

  3. Tolerate divergent views. set an example. Look may be his ranting about the constitution is weight loss exercise!

  4. FAT ALBERT is trying to please his boss kekeke….According to SATA , kAMBWILI IS NOT ONLY a fat lazy minister but also useless..

    • Chisenga, where are you?

I did respond to your challenge as follows:

Facts can be painful and yet true! PF has lamentably failed and if you do live in ZED, you would not even ask.

The devil always starts with “IF” when he wants to challenge the verities of God. And I noticed that you had prefaced your subterfuge with “IF”.

It is not IF the exchange rate is unacceptable or IF mealie meal is expensive or IF the government is spending more than half of budget on emoluments or IF this failed PF government has over borrowed.

      It is a NOW reality.

Remember it is Sata who promised miracles in 90 days! And now that he is in power, we hold him to account.

I am not privy to the UPND campaign message but I am wroth with PF who got my vote by fraudulent misrepresentation.

  5. but bamu uza this fat albert. it is a great pity that the affairs of this country are the hands of such people.

  6. Just how ‘patriotic’ is PF? It has been said that ‘where there is a will there is a way’. If PF were indeed patriotic enough about the constitution, they wouldn’t be seen inventing all these mountains of excuses. What “PATRIOTIC FRONT” is this?

  7. Only in PF are clowns who parade themselves as the “intelligensia”, when in fact they are only exhibiting how empty they are. If only this fat slob could keep his mouth shut, he would probably command a morsel of respect. we don’t listen anymore, but wait for the clown to leave office! They are so out of touche with whats happening on the ground. Do they need to be told that the “power shift” has already happened???

  8. We now know for a fact that PF is a useless govt, it’s president has psychological complications, we also have realised we blundered by ushering in this govt. Is there any need to still appeal to “…government to hid to people’s demands on the constitution making process…”. I say we should be discussing practical steps to rectify this mistake and get rid of this govt before they destroy our nation.

    • Sometimes, I get so upset with this PF government that I dream they have all just disappeared and then I wake up to this nightmare. Can 2016 come fast before these poisonous mushrooms destroy my country! God please forgive us for allowing ourselves to be cheated!

  9. Kambwili thinks that running the country is pretty much like launching stinking “scrap metal” farts all over, no! But is also his aesthetic repulsiveness that I find most nauseous, you bet God was in a hurry for a rendezvous with the archangel Gabriel and left Kashimba Chimbwili on the table of creation longer than planned whence the resultant excess endowment in the gift of ugliness both in character and appearance. If I were Chimbwili, I would kill myself!

  10. What is good is come 2016 , we going to usher in normal people in state house . What a wasted 5yrs . Thats why we regret to have not known what we were doing in 2011 . We were fooled that a visionless man can turn things around in 90days , he can’t even finish building his house in 3mnths [ 90days] Can we be fooled AGAIN ?

  11. Kambwili is a BUFFOON and only in Zambia can such useless characters become ministers….sadly we are paying this empty vessel a salary every month.

  12. A better constitution is also part of development. It is more than just infrastructural. Affordable food and transport is also development which is not the case now. Don’t expose your ignorance.

  13. Women shuld learn respectig men,coz kambwali z like their husbndz unles they re sayig tht they re sigles.u re all leaders bane icalo lifupa

    • To summarise all that my fellow LT bloggers have unleased is that most of you lazy lot are from the opposition and have clearly not understood what Kambwili said inclusive of the NGO Madama. The problem with you all is you are very young and have no objective contribution to cnstitution making process. If i heard him right Kambwili did say that even PF members need the new constitution except it requires funding not by government right now because its not a priority !
Honestly speaking you who are negatively contributing to the Constitution making process will not see the positives even if government was to release it ! All you you will yap is the draft has been tempered with if i am to copy and paste your inexperience head”

  14. Honourable kambwili is not clever, ninkombe, temumwene alebelengafye ifyo balembelle pamapepala. Nga fyali fyekwe ngatalebelenga.

  15. if there is a working constitution, why was so much money spend on making a new one, also it was promised by PF and as for blaming the MMD for the bad kwacha, lol it was never like this under their rule: cabinet too large; ministers travelling abroad with full people that is some of the failing economy: Instead of building new universities; how about refurbrishing the present ones first

  16. I wonder if that girl called mushota is one of those girls this full of air man called kambwili has been honking? I am sorry to go to this extent because while nothing senceable comes out of this guy,s mouth most times, she is trieng to woodwink us to see sense in the senseless things he just said. Kambwili is just as useless as what comes out of his mouth.

  17. Kambwili also known as Mr Arrogant, Overzelous, Abuser of govt resources, Overlaps, Immorality, Fat, Useless, Intimidator, Ignorance, Uncivilised to describe him a bit has lost it. Zambians do not deserve such people as leaders. Kambili must be parked in a pplitical garage or scrap metal dump site. We dont need him in Public Service where we demand polity. Viva Zambians across age, tribe or region .
