The opposition MMD says it will systematically strengthening law and order and bring sanity in the country when in office in 2016.

The opposition party president Nevers Mumba says his party will make corrections in land allocation by ridding off every form of cadre-ism.

Dr. Mumba stated that when back in power in 2016 his party will not tolerate any form of lawlessness to take centre stage.

He has therefore urged Zambians to begin looking forward to a ‘new Zambia’ under his party where peace, political stability, progress, tolerance and modern politics will prevail and rule.

ZANIS reports that Dr. Mumba said this in a press statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.

His statement follows the displacement of over 300 families after their individual houses were razed down by Kitwe City Council last week.

“The New MMD will make its key priorities by ridding off every form of cadre-ism in order for a country to succeed politically and economically,” Dr. Mumba said.

The opposition leader accused the ruling Patriotic Front Government of lacking respect for the rule of law by razing down houses of it citizens as witnessing in Lusaka and on the Copperbelt provinces.

Dr. Mumba charged that the country has now been gripped by a violent culture of “cadre-ism” encouraged and tolerated by the Government of the day.

“The MMD greatly sympathizes with the victims of the demolished houses,” he said.

A combined team of Kitwe City Council and police conducted an operation and demolished the houses and structures built on illegally acquired plots in Mindolo North.

The demolition of houses in Mindolo North was initiated based on a court order obtained by Mopani Copper Mines and Phoenix Materials who owned the land in question.

Over 400 families of Kitwe’s Mindolo North whose houses were demolished by the local authority have asked the government to intervene in their matter before their children die of cold.

They said the future of their families had been shuttered and that they had nowhere to turn to other than the government.

The ruling party’s provincial Chairperson Stardy Mwale distanced itself from the operation to demolish houses in Mindolo North and said the party had nothing to do with the demolition exercise.

    • MMD was in power for 20 years with nothing to show for it except Federick Chiluba’s high heeled shoes and the disintegration of ZCCM.

So please, Nevers do us a favor and shut up before I bi.t.ch slap you. You have a big mouth for a man who couldn’t even run an embassy in the most peaceful country on earth.

    • @Nubian,always the sewer mouth.MMD as a Party yes was in govt for 20 yrs,but under different presidents. Each President had his own leadership style.Dr Mumba is also a different leader with his own style.Someone discovered bulb lighting by trying more than 99 times-what am trying to say is don’t give-up on improving something. On Ottawa,Dr Mumba did a lot,I saw personally where he was even made chairperson of the Committee of High Commissioners. He was the 1st African to hold that position. What is happening to him is just PF pathetic vindictive politics at play.Have your facts right before you open your sewer mouth Nubian-God will judge you hashly.

    • Despite MMD having their own weakness, I respect them for allowing the moron Sata to campaign and have a goal on ruling presidents with mockeries. Once he came in power, the baboon became hostile to opposition groups and deserve to be removed.

    • I agree with Mwitumwa, John maxwell states that everything falls and rises on a leader? PF’s blunders are are as a result of the man in the driving seat, Sata. Only a stereotype people would conclusively assume all leaders are the same before they are even tied. We need to grow up in the way we make our judgements, if we are going to avoid voting in another mistake like Sata.

  1. Hopefully 2016 Zambia will vote for sanity,,,,, not this PF donchi kubeba maddnes,,,,, the same pf cadres sell people plots illegally,,,, the same PF govt go and demolish people houses,,,,, and the same PF cadres deny demolishing,,,,, crazy!!! people are being punished for voting katongo

    • Iwee Ndobo stop smoking Don Carlos! These Mindolo squatters have been in court with Mopani for more than 4 years and now they are getting what legally they deserve and the scapegoat is again PF? You are not real!
Every responsible citizen should ensure they build their house on a legally acquired piece of land. I have no sympathy for lawlessness.
Ofcourse, now that the legal system has meted out justice, government has the responsibilty to safe guard lives, hence they will render help to get these people some place to live, even if it means under tents, but this is not a PF matter.

  2. MMD had their chance, they ruined it…We are not making that kind of mistake again Nevers…Forget it….HH 2016..

    • Which MMD are tallking about?? MMD of Sata katongo,, MMD of Guy Scot, Alex chikwanda, Edgar lungu etc,,,,,

Mumba is new MMD, 90% of the bad seeds are go to PF,,, and dont sayRB, the man was UNIP,,,,, The demons and the witches which made MMD name look and sound bad are in PF today,,,, thats why the love the public order act and lies,,, they created them in MMD time and the have carried them over in their new lives

    • @Word-MMD never ruined their chance, they’re planners.People thought the trickling down effects were taking too long and PF capitalized on that and lied through out their Don’t Kubeba campaign. So the Zambians wanted to experiment with PF and CNP.Once beaten twice shy- no more experiments.Let now the New MMD come and finish the orderly development planning they started not what pf is doing, trial and error.

  3. Wonder what he is talking about because just as it is unfortunate that those people lost houses, they abrogated the law. One wonders what he would have done in this situation in order to follow the law. That land was released by Mopani on request from the council after Phoenix Materials indicated interest to develop that piece of land but the affected people started building on the land with permission from the area councillor. Where in Zambia, even when Nevers was VP did he see Councillors being allowed to give land. It is unfortunate that even in this era, people would still believe Councillors would give plots. My niece was almost a victim 2yrs ago but was adviced not to proceed will the plot purchase from the councillor.

    • @Peter Phiri-Kitwe District Council is fully controlled by PF.So they should have followed the law by not giving plots corruptly to the pipo-That’s what Dr Mumba is talking about bwana.

    • @Peter,Dr Mumba knows the Supreme Law(the Bible) that says:The Fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom. So in Governing God’s pipo, you need wisdom and you can easily practice LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR.The so-called written Law can be abused if the spirit behind it is wrong(the snake spitit) -The Bible says:The lerter kills, but the Spirit(godly good spirit) gives Life. The spirit of the Law is very vital to get the full benefits of it bwana Phiri.Un godly leaders can do a lot of damage to human life.

    • @Mubita just a quick addition – The fact is that the councils you have mentioned have been under PF since 2006. The problems of illegal settlements is part of PF. I manage what would have happened if the houses were destroyed by MMD or plots given by MMD councillors.

  4. DR. MUMBA, STAY FOCUSED, STEADY BUT SURELY. DON’T BE DISTRICTED BY LOUD NOISES COMING FROM ALL ROUND. THE. BIBLE SAYS THE BATTLE IS NOT TO THE SWIFT.”

WE ARE SEEINGMALL THAT WHAT IS HAPPENING AND ARE WE ARE NOW WISER AND WILL NOT BE DECIEVED BY THOSE WITH MONEY WHO HAVE PUT THEIR PARTY IN ONE POCKET.

PROMOTION IS NEITHER FROM THE WEST NOR FROM THE EAST. BUT FROM ABOVE. LET HE GYMNASTICS GO ON BUT THE FINAL SAY IS FROM ABOVE.

IN BEMBEA WE SAY, “UKUTANGILA TEKUFIKA.”! BE STEADY NOW AND LISTEN TO THE VOICES OF THE PEOPLE. WE ARE WATCHING WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH BUT THEY HAVE FAILED TO STOP YOU.

    • @Katongo Nsambe,I agree with you.Dr Mumba has really gone through trials, but God has seen him through all of them.Indeed the battle is the Lord’s

  5. Yesterday there an article on zwd saying saki is sponsoring the barotse succession.I reminded them that last time you were saying its P0st chief editor and today you say its saki! I went on to tell them that saki is a risk taker,he has handled cases against state which most lawyers were afraid of taking up.that’s how I was banned from commenting on this site .iam only allowed to read comments but not to comment.

    • I was actually about to ask you if you were not banned before i finished reading ,but now i don`t have to ask since you have answered. You don`t express an opposing view on ZWD and get away with it, they want people to sing to their tunes. There is no democracy there.Only their view is right and you have to agree.

  6. BA NEVERS AMAFI BANYELAKO UKUTALI. MULUKUNGU YALANUNKA. WHICH LAW CAN YOU BRING IN THE COUNTRY WHEN YOU YOURSELF CAN’T FOLLOW THE LAW? FIRST TELL US ABOUT THE CAN$30, 000.00 AND WHY YOU CONNIVED WITH NON EMBASSY PEOPLE TO SECURE A BANK ACCOUNT BUT USING THE ZAMBIAN GRZ NAME AND MATERIALS. NTOLELEFYE WAKANTU IWE.

  7. MMD, communists, fascists and even rabid dogs have a better chance of leading zambia better than this badly failing PF govt.Better to have an average MMD govt than poor PF idiocy.

  8. yai Dr Mumba at least we know mmd will sell all the govt mining shares when you are in power and we can get richer while zambians can die with minimum wage; thanks to mmd KCM, Mopani, Kagem, is under our control

  9. Forget it I wonder why some people still got the dreams that MMD can bounce back to power well, people will never cease to amaze me, they have the right to always dream for impossibilities.

  10. MMD had all of 20 years to undo the mess UNIP left. They could at least have enacted a new constitution and curbed the excessive powers of the president, they could have eradicated vigilantism and cadrerism. We have seen their violent cadres manhandle senior leaders. They could have done away with POA long before now. They failed to develop the economy but at least they could have done something to make Zambia more stable, respectable and less turbulent. I don’t see that MMD will accomplish anything more than they have done already. Kafupi declared Zambia a christian nation but went ahead to do the opposite, chasing after girls and indulging in designer gear at the expense the economy. Zambians will prove their insanity by employing again a party that failed so miserably.

  11. this Pastor so called, surprises me how can he say such a statement? why didn’t he do this for the years they(MMD) ruled the country. Zambia can only be saved if we use our knees. not through fake preachers.

  12. Continue dreaming ba nevers. Ask U.N.I.P if they have ever been back in power since 1991. Once out into the opposition ninshi kwasila and no miracle will happen for MMD even THE ALMIGHTY LIVING GOD cannot allow a decomposed copse called MMD to get back into life and later on govt.

  13. @ Mwitumwa, cool down mi brother each has his or her own opinion. Nevers Mumba will never know what to do. Pull yourself together first. Akwendauka shimo shileshalako. 2016 forget, takwaba umwaume wakula na kanwa ngaiwe tata echo ulufyanisha…..
