Government has expressed concern at the lack of progress in the construction of six hundred and fifty (650) health posts across the country.

Government has expressed concern at the lack of progress in the construction of six hundred and fifty (650) health posts across the country.

Speaking during a consultative meeting with contractors in Lusaka this morning, Health Minister Joseph Kasonde, says government is very much concerned with the state of affairs concerning the construction of the health posts.

Dr. Kasonde says government together with the contractors will go through the three construction agreements to see how best the construction of the 650 health posts can be expedited.

Dr. Kasonde has however expressed hope that the target of having the 650 health posts in place will be met.

The Health Minister, who refused to give further details as to when the actual works will commence, says government remains committed to ensuring that the health posts are constructed within the stipulated period of time.

Meanwhile, the three Indian contractors have assured the nation that they will complete the construction works within the agreed timeframe.

The tenders for the construction of the health posts were awarded to Jaguar Overseas, Angelique Limited and Megha Medical Centres.

  1. Bwana Kasonde.

Talk is cheap. If wishes were horses, beggars would own them in thousands.

It is easy to say we will construct 650 so and so. In fact that is the very PF like – just to dupe the people that you are working. That “we are in a hurry to develop” b*lls*t does not work in the real world. Reality is reality. You need a proper plan and resources.

    • So there is a Joseph Katema and a Joseph Kasonde? Both DRs?
Anyway, don’t for get to construct one at State house. Too many patients there.

    • USELESS Health Minister, you should be telling the Nation the TRUTH to the question everyone WANTS to KNOW, not waffling on about something everybody knows already!

PF has failed to develop the country, and the health system is a shambles. WE KNOW THAT! That is why Sata is traveling to Israel, India, and UK for treatment.

Give us the information we want! IS Sata dead or alive?

Stop hiding King Cabbage away and come clean on this!

  2. Funds have now been diverted for more urgent priorities.

Medical tourism to Israel, UK, South Korea and South Africa.

And the Intensive Care Unit, personal-to-holder at Plot 1.

Birthday present to King Cabbage! He obviously did no work to earn it!

  3. This project is already a flop!!!! When are we going to appreciate our own skills . Zambia, now 50years, has educated so many and yet we are at loss on how to inspire and develop this buffer of skill. What a waste!!!

  4. Bwana Minister Kasonde…..policy is DONCHI Kubeba all the way….I will not be surprised that you will come back and tell us that only 100 of the 650 intended where built.

    • Or even one or two, like the ownerdriver bus project that had only two buses launched in Chipata, and has gone quiet since that initial launch – a prototype clinic may be built in one selected village, publicised widely, and while people are still excited about it, the project will be abandoned, and no one will remember to follow up thereafter! That is my ruling party at its best!
