Sinkala’s Grasshopper move cheers Beaumelle

Nathan Sinkala’s move to Swiss club Grasshopper has cheered Chipolopolo coach Patrice Beaumelle.

Sinkala on Wednesday signed a six-month contract with the 2013/2014 Swiss Super League runners-up from DR Congo club TP Mazembe.

“So I am very happy, I wish him all the best. Grasshopper is a very good club and am sure he will enjoy himself,” Beaumelle said.

“I am always happy when the boys sign for a good side; it is a good sign for the Chipolopolo.”

Sinkala has just completed another six month stint in Europe at demoted french club Sochaux.

  1. This is silly how can you be proud of an international capped player signing a 6 month contract like a player in his later stages of his career….if the club has faith in you they will hand a 4 year contract. Why do we undersell ourselves …nevermind the useless PE teacher’s assistant he is taking us NOWHERE! !

    • Mazembe is a business minded club..the market price for “African” players is under a million dollars but Mazembe always get a better price for their goods! Am sure that is the deal..impress them for six months and the boy is in for years:-)

    • @Prince
That’s the type of mindset of underselling oneself I’m referring to you mean to tell me a player with more than 20 international caps, Afcon winners medal, continental club tournament appearances for top DRC club, played in the French league for half season should be going to any club for 6 months probation period. Why do you always assume Grasshopper is doing him a favour when its the other way round.
This is the selfsame reason our players are undersold as they are represented by agents with your mindset who are keen to accept any peanuts that are put on the table so they can get their 15% cut.
Wake up and know your self worth!!

    • Jay Jay…learn to separate the individual from the issue in the way u present your arguments..its a small matter of respect…anyway, point taken, u r spot on. However, respect concerning business deals between Africa and Europe will have to be demanded and not earned. Being enlightened as u clearly are is the beginning of advancement for our people
. Mazembe know their selfconcept and are demanding respect as it stands. African players have always gone for a song, 5 figures at most…Mazembe is the only team in our region that demands the correct price for its players. This is how it started between Latin America and europe. Bazungu will always try to trick u ta, Mazembe is saying no to 50 pin..the swiss are saying we wont be the first to buy “real price”from Africa!
