Nkana rest Sate Sate for Eagles clash

Ronald Kampamba has been ruled of Nkana’s home game on Saturday against Green Eagles.

Nkana’s prolific goal-getter and the club’s top scorer this season is said to be suffering from exhaustion.

“He is down with a flu and severe headache but I think it is because of the fatigue. He has played so many games this year and all of them 90 minutes,” Nkana coach Zeddy Saileti said on Friday afternoon.

“It is a big loss but there is nothing we can do. We have other players who have to prove themselves.”

Saileti said he is expecting Kampamba to be back in action for next Saturdays 2014 CAF Confederation Cup Group B match against Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia in Kitwe.

Kampamba has eight league goals and another four in CAF competition this season.

Meanwhile, Nkana are third on the table heading into this weekends Week 16 fixture against Eagles who held the defending champions to a scoreless draw in the two sides opening game of the season in Choma on March 15.

  1. Just as much as Sate Sate is a reliable and influence player, the move taken by the technical bench is in the right direction. Fatigue has seen many players retire prematurely because of injuries that could have been prevented by resting them for one or two matches.
