The United Party for National Development (UPND) has charged that the ruling Patriotic Front is feeling the pressure ahead of the 2016 general elections.
UPND Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba has told Qfm News that there is no doubt that the ruling party is working under pressure.
Mr. Simusamba says the UPND has penetrated in all parts of the country and that people have accepted party president Hakainde Hichilema.
He says the fact that the ruling party is always mentioning the UPND is a clear indication that the ruling party has already set its barometer ahead of the elections.
Mr. Simusamba adds that the UPND is growing everyday as evidenced by the many people defecting to join the party.
But PF National Chairperson Inonge Wina says the ruling party has delivered and is still working hard to ensure that it pays attention to the needs of the majority Zambians.
Ms. Wina says the ruling party is still strong in all parts of the country and ready to win elections
PF will go beyond 2016. There will be no change of govt in 2016. I know this is a bitter pill to swallow 4 our friends in opposition camps. MARK THIS WORD- PF will win 2016 polls.

stop dreaming my friend 2016 will be a new different ball game.PF may even come third from MMD just like in Malawi.president Joyce Banda come third,despite being from the ruling party.What has destroyed PF is Bemba tribalism and stinking corruption from road construction.The other being the Economy pipo are much poorer than under MMD,only a few are enjoying from kick backs .
Of course it is never late for the PF to amend their ways of doing things, much as they have done many roads etc, they should consider consolidating themselves in areas of weakness otherwise the battle may be an uphill one come 2016. simple peace of advice. Opposition should also be issue based and not just talking about the whereabouts of the President. They should sell their manifesto to the electorates or else nothing tangible will be in their favour.
The PF difficulty and dilemma in 2016 general elections will be failure to recruit (Kenyans) by Kabimba to come and rig elections, failure by Mr Sata to appear in person during campaign time (he may still be missing then) and failure to pick a PF presidential material person.
That will be a challenge to PF that will determine to consign PF to the archives of Zambian political history. A party led by young blood, educated with track record of successful business acumen will lead Zambia in 2016 and beyond. Zambians are aware of that leader and party.

…this is no time for rhetoric and politicking. In my opinion, its actually the opposition which is supposed to be under pressure. Its time the opposition seriously engaged in full gear if they want to realise the results they so desire in 2016. Relying on cosmetic ‘swelling’ of the party.. a ‘good’ number at Matero rally…a ‘good’ support from the on-line publications may turn out to be deceptive.
The opposition may apply to hold a rally in Matero and shall be granted as many times as they want. Try applying for the same in a rural set-up, Kasama, Luapula, Muchinga, Chipata….chances are that permit may not be granted and if it was..PF cadres shall ensure that it does not take place. Remember how MMD narrowly pulled thru in 2008…rural advantage. Just a timely advise…
Simusamba is playing self-appeasement game. If there are no people to say you are tall, it is better to boast among the multitudes that ‘I ‘m the tallest’ where people are straining to catch a glimpse of you because your overall height can only go up to waist level of most people,( mwandibonene kuli?). So is Simusamba and his UPND. The party can best be described as a provincial party because it derives its little influence from the Southern Province of Zambia where most of its MPs represent constituencies. It is ironical how a small party like UPND, trailing behind in third position in the national elections can claim to be more popular than PF which won elections by wide margin, let alone MMD which came second. The f0ols paradise is real for some people and their party.

Zambia a development bank which only gives huge loans to prominent PF cadres and the Mmembe cartel.
Its the job of the opposition to keep the govt on its toes. But my advice to UPND is that, start to pick on issues which the PF is not doing right and most importantly promise/undertake to do do certain specifics once voted into power. That how every party that has unseated a sitting govt has done it. Self praise is certainly NOT the way it is or has been done!!!
I think some people are blind or just dull. HH and UPND has been pointing out several issues which the PF is not addressing. Poverty levels, cost of living, corruption under guise of single sourcing, RDA in SATA ‘s bedroom operating without a board, break down of law and order, Selective justice are some the issues that HH and UPND keep raising time and again.
Sata ‘s medical bill , Sata’s three fold salary increament on the back of rising cost of living for the poor, unconstitutional allocation of over K1.5billion for Kaseba’s office is costing Zambians a lot of money.
If you these issues raised by us in UPND are nothing to you then there is something wrong with you on a serious note.

UPND has always been bragging to be a popular party but this is only true in Southern province where they enjoy 71 % majority Support. They claimed to be more popular in central province than PF before latest elections only to amass 20% popularity votes behind the PF which got 28% . HH (Haleisa Haleya ) must realise that Zambia is bigger than Southern province.

PF is not under any pressure from the opposition. the only pressure they have is to accelerate developement. There is no threat from the oposition at all. For the past four general elections, UPND has always claimed to be more popular then MMD and PF. The results speaks volumes and this is were UPND lacks sincererity and decency. KK promised independence, FTJ promised democracy (LPM & RB were default successors) which HH can only be in UPND party & NOT for Republican Presidency unless he had gone into an alliance with MMD or PF which he spurned.
