Zambia kickoff CAF U-17 Cup qualifying campaign

Zambia on Sunday begins its quest for a place at the Niger 2015 CAF Under-17 Youth Championship with a qualifying match against Botswana at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.

The Junior Chipolopolo hopes to kickoff the campaign for a slot at the Niger finals on a high not as they face the Baby Zebras in the second round first leg match.

Zambia has never qualified for the CAF Under-17 Youth Championship.

Ahead of this match, coach Chris Kaunda has declared his final 18-member Zambia squad ready for the Tswanas.

Kaunda said the team is injury free and called on the nation to support the youngsters.

“So far we don’t have any injuries. I want to ask the nation that they come and support their team,” he said.

Meanwhile, Botswana arrived in the country on Wednesday evening have set up camp in Lusaka prior to the match.

  1. All the best to U-17 and the Coach. Bring glory to UPND and HH the President in the waiting. HH has mentioned to contribute K500,000 towards U-17 soccer team and K1,000,000 to National Team. He is a very kind leader. Vote for HH.

  2. Sorry, he did mention to slaughter 10 cows and 50 goats for every goal scored today. Party will be at his home on Monday, starting from 1500 hours till late.
