The family of the late president Levy Mwanwasa’s niece Tiberth Musambachime have thanked President Sata for visiting their relative at hospital.

Family representative Evelyn Mwanawasa said President Sata, who was in South Africa on Saturday when Ms Musambachime was evacuated to Milpark Hospital, waited and visited the patient.

“We are very grateful to the Head of State for the gesture in evacuating and visiting the patient at the hospital. He waited for her until she arrived to ensure he checked on her condition.

“People were saying the Mwanawasa family was bitter with President Sata but it is people saying that and not us,” Ms Mwanawasa said.

She described the condition of Ms Musambachime following her evacuation to South Africa as having slightly improved.

Meanwhile, President Sata’s son, Kazimu, who has been admitted to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, last evening went into theatre for fracture procedures.

Zambia’s Ambassador to South Africa Muyeba Chikonde said in an interview yesterday that Kazimu was taken to theatre last evening.

Mr Chikonde said doctors had said that he was out of danger.

He also confirmed that former Republican president Rupiah Banda had been to visit Kazimu and another accident victim Tiberth Musambachime earlier in the day.

“He has just gone into theatre this evening. The doctors have also said that he is out of danger,” Mr Chikonde said.

Kazimu was involved in a road accident on the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriage way and he and Ms Musambachime were evacuated to Milpark Hospital.

  1. The country is not ashamed to take relatives to South Africa instead of improving conditions at home. Shame on all governments from UNIP to PF.

    • @Ola

When we talk about PF being as useless as the parties before them in government, PF minions labels us under 5s and yet the evidence of their stupidity is overwhelming.

Sata fired doctors and nurses, and yet he is not ashamed to go to South Africa to be treated by the very doctors and nurses he once fired.

In two and half years PF has been in power, they could have improved health care tremendously but instead there shelling hell lot of £millions on health of politician who are the very people supposed to safe guard and improve health care.

This is the problem of having over 65s at the helm of power. They can not think outside the box. They are afraid of innovation.

UPND and HH are the only hope and help.

    • @Wanzelu you have good points there but please be truthful, the PF govt did not fire any doctors but nurses who did not want to work and compromise. Yes we should condemn this trend of those in govt sending their relatives for specialist treatment at the expense of poor taxpayers.

    • @The Observer

If you read again you will know that I specifically mentioned Sata himself as the culprit for firing Nurses ad Doctors. Just to jog your memory a bit.Remember when Sata was health minister under the Chiluba regime. He fired doctors who were demanding for better standards condition of work. It was that time most Zambian doctors went abroad and some eventually came here in the UK. Then out his stupidity, he went ahead hired Indian doctors on huge pay. Some of these Indian doctors had to continue to oil his hand in order for their contracts to be extended.

Sorry if I lost you some where but these are undeniable facts.

    • @Ola, don’t blame the government, blame the Zambian culture. Even in villages, the primary school teachers prefer to go to provincial hospitals or all the way to UTH to get malaria treatment. It is about “pride”, ati bafwilile abroad.
Dr. Katema and Dr. Kaseba have already said they could have and can still treat that Kazimu.

    • …You know I have come across dull people and people who live in denial… but this guy called Wanzelu ..hes ubelievable.. he simply outweighs everyone!.. amazing stuff!

  2. This is funny. The story is about Sata visiting Tiberth but the picture is a file picture without Sata.

Is there any reason why Sata is camera shy nowadays?

Sata is AWOL(Absent Without Official Leave)

I still believe Sata is dead.

    • This WaNOnzelu spews absolute tosh. He is either on narcotic drugs or highly infected with demons. His comments are so nauseating, but then what do you expect from Z(one) of W(orldly) D(evils) dweller.

    • Wanzelu grow up we know how hard you want to believe your own words ,but Sata is fine and walking. You surely can`t expect the Mwanawasa family to lie.You are living in denial my brother.Stop self comforting yourself by telling your mind these things. He is not incapacitated as you want to believe.Ignorance is bliss.

    • ubuloshi will not take you anywhere, my brother. I think you are a disciple on the devil and you treasure seeing people suffering and confusions in the world. Please repent for you are hell bound. And hell is real, my brother. As a matter of facts, president Sata will live longer than you.

    • I can guarantee you doubting thomases that its gonna be another a long time before you see Sata in public again. That depends on whether he is alive or not.

Is he back in Zambia then? Is he going to stay in South Africa until Kazimu recovers?

If he does then ???????????????????????????????????? amen

    • Wanzelu the hater/pessimist/prophet of doom and son of indoshii spreading his hate. You know your generation is lost once they spend most of the time wishing another human being to be afflicted.

    • Wanzelu, does this mean anything to you? This is your broadband ID in the UK. Do you know what that means?

    • @Ichalo lifupa

Wanzelu is just my blog name. Are you threatening me with cyber warfare or what?
If so wachepa sana. If you try it my dear I will trace your ISP and spike you big time. Don’t even entertain that idea in the first place.

You are however allowed to present a counter argument to my comments but not getting too personal about it. I sympathise with you if your daily bread depends on bootlicking PF. If thats the case I cant help you mate.

I understand, and I know that most people who still hold on and believe in archaic African mentality, fear innovation and are resistant to change. Most of my blogs are thought provoking because I choose them to so. They are meant for us to begin to question various aspects our belief system more especially that which relates our…

    • Ba Wanzelu naimwe, you call others as PF Bootlickers and yet you are HH’s Bootlicker. You call your blogs as thought provoking? So to you being anti Sata and pro UPND/HH is thought provoking? How about blocking anti UPND/HH views on your ZWD? Is that also thought provoking?

  3. This evacuation only came after massive condemnation by the taxpayers who wanted their money to be spent for the benefit of all in need and not only Sata and his children. How could only one person be sent to SA for treatment leaving others he was involved in the accident with, suffering similar injuries? Shame! So this evacuation could only come at gun-point? What a father of the nation!!!

    • @Suntwe what massive condemnation? An article on Z(one) of W(ordly) D(evils) is massive condemnation? What deluded chaps. The evacuation of the victims was already planned. The authorities were simply awaiting advice whether it was safe to do so.
Lets face it Sata won the elections fair and square. No amount of hate and insults will change that. All your indignation and malice is highly misplaced. The Zambians chose who they preferred, Sata. Come 2016 the vote will remain the same. So continue gnashing your teeth until they are well wore.

  4. Are you telling me that as a country we cannot afford to buy the say kind of medical equipment as S.A? Are they that expensive?

  5. Are you telling me that as a country we cannot afford to buy the same kind of medical equipment as S.A? Are they that expensive?

    • We can, Sue, but we use to failure without maintenance breaks. That is why things in this country seem untenable each time. The little maintenance on the things we get are done by quacks because we think the dealer is too expensive. It is just the same as the way our Christianity is peddled; a lot of prayers on Sunday and pure tosh for the next six days…

  6. The mwanawasa family should be thankful to the people for putting pressure on pf so there useless bitch can be taken to south Africa than issue s.t.u.p.i.d statements, what was she doing in that car with a married man in the first place.

  7. What was this recent married guy doing with a Ms Musambachime. I bet he was supposed to be enjoying his newly wedded bride instead of wandering from one leisure resort to another with single girls. Now my paye which was supposed to be used on developmental projects is being used to treat his fate resulting from ukushumfwa. I hope he comes out a changed person.

    • @ limpo
Its a pity that most monkey eaters have a tendency of instability. Jumping from one branch to the other is adventurous for them

    • @ advocate – Kazimu (note the name!) does not, has never and will never eat a monkey! So don’t be silly.

  8. Show a little more, show a little less, welcome to burlesque. everything you dream of, I have already plundered. Everyone is donating and put your money where your mouth is then put it in my pants. I am not guilty of hammering money during my term as high-comm issioner but I am ready to confess it felt soo good stealing the money. my Dominican lady assistant can always give you a great personal service. Free ladies for everyone when I am president. i ment car-olin-a ro-drig-uez…dip-lop-matic s-l-u-t

  9. Shameless and pathetic leaders. Do you think these bastards really care about developing the country when they can access high class medical services and education for their brats at tax payers expense?

  10. Zambia should move from social consumptive economics to innovative wealth creation approaches. In this respect lets get Indian or American investors (renowned for good medical service delivery) to start one state of the art commercially viable hospital to serve Zambia and neighbouring countries. It will save lives, bring forex and save the country’s meagre resources. The resources generated from this venture can be channelled to support the struggling public health system.

    • Excellent idea right there from Saba Asa. Unless the majority of Zambians start to think like you, we should forget any meaningful development for the next century.
What happened for example to the presidential suite or ward at UTH. KK used to go there every year for his routine medicals. That was one way of maintaining standards. What is at Milpark that cannot be made available in Zambia? The same applies to holidays. Our leaders should go to local tourist resorts and publisize these visits widely. Our leaders going abroad for holidays is not doing our tourism industry any good.

  11. Why should the state pay for both these two’s treatment in South Africa. Surely, Ukwa could have paid given the fact that he has given himself three salary increments despite being a man of the people and has for three-quarters of his tenure been paid for doing nothing but farting in bed?

Also, I dont understand how these politicians and their families think. Surely any self-respecting member of the Mwanawasa family would have nothing to do with Ukwa and his accursed progeny after the way Ukwa insulted Levy and behaved at his funeral?

  12. Well the truth is that Mwanawasa`s niece was evacuated after public outcry that pressured Sata to instruct his minions to have the girl evacuated to South Africa.

    • Sata is not able to issue any commands and that is reality. Sad a state as Zambia ends up finding Itself situation even after 50 years after claiming to be so indepedent when we as nation still have to borrow spoons and folks that should be enjoyed by all.

  13. It is strange that at the time when our courts a clogged with cases of abuse of office, some bloggers can be putting pressure on the President to use government resources on persons who are not his dependants. A dependant is supposed to be under the age of 21 years old. We need to be guided by rules.

  14. i thought Maureen is on record saying that ‘Sata reconciled with levy and not the mwanawasa’s as a family’

  15. @ Wanzelu

True to your name – but your candidness of truth is hurting pathetic failures promoting medical tourism for other countries.
Imagine, 3 head of state families parapatetically at Milpalk clinic, leaving South Africans wondering what medical services the rest of ordinary Zambians receive at home. Only young leaders with new thinking, new politics, creative and innovative can find a solution to this shame. Viva UNPD, Viva HH, let us change – am in.

    • with due respect to the Mwanawasas especialy evelyn they could have just thanked Mr Sata for evacuating her daughter to SA ,than to issue that statement that they were not bitter. They should be greatfull to the watchdog for exposing the segregation and injustice of only airlifting Kazimu and leaving their daughter. The pipo of Zambia cried foul thats how the Satas evacuated the lady out of shyness.May categoricaly state that as Zambians we should be ashamed of our leaders and ourselves that we have failed to improve our health care system.Imagine that if were a poor person who was involved in the accident will government evacuated these guys.We need new leaders who will changes the state of our health services.HH seems to mean a lot.He is the only who gave suport to nurses on strike.

  16. Thumbs up for you Evelyn, there is no need to be bitter with a man who is always bitter and angry with himself. Have you ever seen him smile or heard him say kind words to anyone including his ministers?

  17. Lusaka Times, do one noble thing. Mark and block postings of one deranged fellow, Wanzelu. Your site has somewhat turned into a platform for his lunacy mutations and schizophrenic ranting. He is not adding value to your reputation. One would think Lusaka Times is akin to fools and lunatics platform of Zambian Watchdog. Please Lusaka Times guard your reputation by putting lunatic Wanzelu in shackles and expel him.

    • Don’t worry about this Tonga UPND cadre.Him,Mushota and Saulosi are the most interesting bloggers here. They bring something unique to this blog.

    • Umubemba inkonko you are very backward in thinking. This is not a bemba mouthpiece to trasmit PF views only, but a free media house that accommodate divegent views. We leave in a democracy and as such we ought to respect each ones views. You will now realise that all online media houses have blogers who are oposing PF .Its a measure of how pipo feel with Gorvenment. So if you strongly feel only Bembas should contributing on lusaka times just like you have dominated goevernment positions you are mistaken.

    • @Umubemba Inkonko,
Please leave Wanzelu alone, he is free to express his views as he wishes on the horrible happenings in the country. Some of you do not want the evils in Zambia to be exposed and condemned. You are appealing to the LT to block Wanzelu’s postings yet you yourself have just described him with offensive rants and therefore you too must be banned.

The Zambia Watchdog is disliked by many of you for simply exposing the hidden wrongs of the government which would never have been known by the public. Simply stop reading the Watchdog and go elsewhere for online news.
Remember Zambia is supposed to be a democracy not a communist Peoples Republic like it was in UNIP.

    • @Umubemba Inkonko

In your dreams my bro. Internet has really brought press freedom to another level. If you don’t like what I write just know that you are at the bottom of the list of followers I care should read my blogs.

But again I am happy to have followers from both sides of the dividing line. For your info you are one of the reasons why LT will never block me. I know they support PF, but hey, they need some of our factual but painful views.

So just chill and argue intelligently with tangible evidence to convince some of us. Donchi kubeba coupled with over 65 menatality will not solve your problems.

Thanks for following me man . Please keep it up.

Viva us the young (under 5) Viva UPND and HH.

      Over 65 politician wawa.

    • @Lungowe,The London Eye,sido mark

Thanks a million times guys for supporting me and standing up for freedom of expression.

Bit by bit ,one day these guys with over 65 mentality will see sense in what we are constantly on about.

    • @ sido mark, I cant see anywhere where Umubemba Inkonko mentioned Wanzelu’s tribe or that LT should be a bemba mouthpiece to transmit PF views only. That’s just your thinking.

    • I love Wanzelu. He just pricks Pathetic Failures or Poko Faram Jihadists hard. They will never enjoy his writing because he has designed it to be that way. Viva Wanzelu

  18. What am I reading here is this Mwanawasa woman a girl friend to Kazimu or its just coincidence there at the same hospital. Ba Lusaka Times can u communicate properly.

  19. @ Wanzelu, if you are able to react to my contribution, then there is a chance that your condition can be corrected with time. If for a day you can stay without mentioning Sata negatively you will surely be on your way to full healing with time. Another way you can regain your former sober self is by disengaging from the enclosed fools’ paradise.

    • @Umubemba Inkonko

I dislike Sata and every thing under his control. He is reason why I left Zambia the moment he joined MMD from UNIP. The day he ditched UNIP to join MMD I told most my friends, that nothing will come out of MMD now that Sata has joined it. Soon after I left the country.

So when Sata is out of government I will return home may be under a sensible group of young ,vibrant and forward thinking politicians(the under 5s). The over 65s have messed up our Zambia big time.

In MMD Sata personally bribed and bulldozed his way to get the SG position so that he could instigate a purge of all well meaning MMD founder members who disliked Sata ‘s corrupt ways.

Without Sata, MMD performed BETTER under Mwanawasa and RB. Now look at the mess under Sata ‘s leadership !

    • @Umubemba Inkonko

When I mention Sata, I never talk about him in his personal capacity. I always associate him with bad things that have happened or happening under his leadership. To me it does not matter whether its his useless ministers or his thugs that are tarnishing his name I hold him solely responsible as their leader who is supposed to shepherd his flock with proper guidance.

I would expect you to do the same when arguing in Sata’s favour instead of labelling me. The fact that you don’t defend Sata with tangible evidence to counter my arguments against him, shows that what I talk about is nothing but the truth which chokes most of you PF minions with over 65 mentality.

So lets debate issues. Don’t be personal. Sata has achieved a lot for his family forest NOT for…

  20. @ #1 Ola at least UNIP tried,we had the mine hospitals with state of the art equipment and highly trained medical personal. They were evacuations out of the country and people could be easily treated at these hospitals. The demise of ZCCM also lead to the collapse of quality health care at the mine hospitals. But more so MMD and PF are the real failures because they should have improved or built on what Kaunda left. It’s sad that 50 years after independence all the sectors from health, education, infrastructure, telecommunication have all failed.

  21. @ London Eye, you should know that freedom of anything goes with responsibility. It is a responsibility of every Zambian to regard the republican president with respect as he is the symbol of our sovereignty. Like his predecessors, Kaunda, Chiluba, Mwanawasa and Banda, Sata is father of the nation. You can’t throw vile at the president who enjoys massive support among the citizenry and expect to be cheered, otherwise you provoke masses and you bring calamity upon yourself.

    • @Umubemba Inkonko,
First of all let me remind you that respect is earned even in a home, I mean a decent and loving home parents respect their children. The same Sata treated the late president Mwanawasa and others appallingly, disrespectfully and maliciously in public to entertain the likes of you and you enjoyed it.
Sata, the father of the nation as you refer to him is just having a taste of his own medicine and it is the calamity he has brought upon himself.

  22. Taking relatives and friends to expensive hospitals and posing for pictures with them in state of the art wards while your people deliver on the floor in the nation’s so called top hospital. What kind of a leader is this mwebantu?

  23. Evelyn Mwanawasa you are a dam twit, spineless woman, lover of money than principles i have no regard for you useless woman. Levy must be turning in his grave because of you sell out.

  24. if it was one of Obama’s children, they are treated in the best hospitals and doctors in the world. Milkpark is a cheap hospital people. My granny died there

    • gudro. we are not whitehouse. killing the boy makes better sense, at least the president can concentrate on the nation

  25. So the WD were right again. Sata was going to SA to seek medical attention under the guise of ‘visiting’ a sick child. Am sure the SA authorities are getting tired of ‘treating’ heads of state from zed. KK NEVER evacuated he got treated in his own country that’s why a HS has a personal physician.

  26. Sata’s son’s plus Mwanawasa’s relative’s car accident; as tragic as they are; but as of today claiming high-profile lives: What has been done about the following: Insignificant, but what happen to the less known, actually insignificant powerful Zambian voters who put all the other presidents in power? They get crushed every day on the Lusaka Great East Road; Kafue Road and Exit to the Copper belt Road: who talks about them?

  27. bloggers, spare your energies, engaging yourselves in arguments with a retard like WANZELU is precious energy lost. This retard tells us halenya halenya is the only hope for zambia. Dreams are a basic human right so wanzelu can lust himself with such. All i know is 2016 HEMCS no change.
