A fourty four year old Mbala man has died after being attacked by a raging bull.

The incident happened on Wednesday this week when the deceased was raring his employer’s cattle at a named farm near the former United Bus Company of Zambia (UBZ) garage in Mbala.

ZANIS reports that Northern Province police commissioner Charity Katanga has confirmed the incident, in an interview, today.

Ms. Katanga named the deceased as Friday Simwanza of Little Poland Compound in Mbala district of Northern Province.

She said Simwanza sustained multiple injuries in the attack, adding that he died instantly after the incident.

Police have ruled out foul play in Simwanza’s death.

The body of the deceased is lying at Mbala general hospital mortuary awaiting burial.

    • @Saulosi, what? SELLING?? Serve the bull at funeral. It is it from tail to horns. If I was there I could eat the bull’s balls.
Anyway, most Tonga’s may not believe it that a cowboy, shepherd, kachema, can be killed by a bull (musune). May his soul rest in peace.

    • In our days as herd boys, we would have castrated that bull. We were so fearless and daring. we even used to make bachende plough! A bull killing someone was unheard of, perhaps a Brahman cow with its young attacking a Lozi cousin lisholi (trying to shift good breed from Namwala, lol).

Sad that my brother died in course of the noble duty of kwembela ng’ombe. My erstwhile favourite pastime!!

  1. Oops, LT you mentioned former UBZ. Tomorrow we’ll hear pronouncements that UBZ has been recapitalised and will soon start operating…careful! We should learn to forget and move on as a people. This is 21st Century!

  2. Please stick to goats and Impala’s that run away from people. We are used to chasing up there. leave those big animals to the Tongas who know how to handle them. Oh no. How sad. May his soul rest in peace. Maybe he never even liked meat. No no no. Sad

    • @Cat Power, we only see you in funerals. They be accusing you…. ukumitunganya. Kekekeke ati maybe he never even liked the meat. Do you have more data, did anyone ask him to slaughter the bull?

    • Generally, the most friendly animal besides a calf in the kraal is the bull. but beware of Friesian bulls and also Brahmans. There is a reason other than its huge stature, the Brahman reigns supreme in the plains of Namwala. It is a damn dangerous beast to steal. And yet it is as tame as a cat to its owners. So next time you see a black and white beast (Friesian bull) or a long eared with a big slooping hump, come not too close! Maningi trouble…….and I wont charge any fee (pro bono) for this life saving consultancy.

  3. Why is Charity so involved in this civil accident, as if it is a police case? Are they going to charge the bull for murder or manslaughter now that the police are so interested in this matter?
