United Party for National Development (UPND) and Patriotic Front (PF) cadres have clashed in Luampa District in Western province leaving a
PF carder in a critical condition.

The clashes erupted yesterday after PF carders tried to block the road for UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema who was scheduled to address a rally at Luampa Secondary School ground.

During the clash, a PF carder, Lenard Chisanga from Lusaka’s KUomboka compound, was beaten and stabbed with a knife by suspected UPND carders.

In an interview with ZANIS Chisanga said he is one of the PF carders who came from Lusaka to campaign for Luampa Ward Councillor David Kahulu.

He sustained head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Luampa Mission Hospital.

Meanwhile, Luampa District Commissioner, Alfred Miyato, was also attacked and his vehicle smashed by suspected UPND cadres.

However, UPND leader Hichilema managed to address the rally after a long battle between PF and UPND carders.

Mr Hichilema told the people to vote for the UPND candidates in order to bring development in the area.

He advised the UPND candidate, David Njamba, to work for the people and not for himself if voted in as a councillor.

Luampa ward will be contested by David Kahulu (PF), David Njamba, (UPND) and Chipango Nyumbu (UNIP).

Meanwhile, Namando Ward has Katupisha Yambwana (PF), Mundenge Mwiya (UPND) and Muchima Christopher for the Alliance for Democracy and Development and contenders.

  1. UPND is a violent party which should never grace civil grounds of power. HH will never rule Zambia. Whatever he is doing if it is to become president is in vain. He has no chance under the sun. Zambia has ten provinces out of which he only controls one, Southern Province. Even here he has lost grip and many people have opened their eyes to witness the developmental projects PF is putting in place. PF has campaigned more that UPND through projects. Losing Mangango and two wards in Kaoma will teach HH a big lesson and will send a warning that 2016 elections will not be for the weak, under-fives.

    • @Umubemba Inkonko

UPND is a peaceful party unlike PF lead by SATA who wielded Pangas in Chiwama in 2008. Sata is the one who taught his cadres to start using pangas. He was asked to ban the use of pangas in public but he refused.

Why were the PF cadres from Lusaka trying to block HH to visit his party supporters?

Have ever heard that UPND have blocked any party candidate from visiting his supporters?

These cadres brought it upon them selves. Why go to magongo all the way from Lusaka, to try and destroy the only community improvised bridge in order to block HH?

Video evidence is being gathered all the way to make sure that when time comes, the culprits will be exposed.

    • These Bemba like their congolese tribesmate are violent. Look at the mayhem in drc. That is what these bembas want to bring in Western Province and rest of Zambia. And the Police are ndwiii…….

    • Umubemba Inkonko,
HH will rule Zambia not DRC where you come from. Just go back to your 10th province and die there. HH is the only TRUE Zambia presidential candidate the we have. We are sick of your dullness which has made Zed sink this low.

    • UPND has just learnt you can’t be diplomatic against thugs … just speak their language. If UPND is violent what are you going to call PF …. super violent I guess.

    • PF, MMD and UPND are all violent parties. The issue is that FDD, NAREP, HP, ABC and other smaller parties who are not violent are not strong enough , God help mother Zambia we need peaceful parties to rule. Let ECZ disqualify all violent parties and in 2016 if any cause violence let them go to the Hague. God bless Zambia.

  2. I am happy for PF, they thought being in power is a right to brutalize others all the time,. People have now waken up and ready to defend themselves and their democracy. Chisanga, good riddance for to be hacked in Barosteland , go back to kuku in Chawama where you hail from and I wish you a speed death.

  3. Upnd and pf birds of same feathers.zambians want
different kind of politic.give mmd your vote will give uou
    strong economy and strong zambia.

  4. All the way from Muchinga Escarpment only seek cheap death in Barosteland, I have no regrets for wounding, good riddnce

    • @True son of Barosteland

Do you now understand that its PF which instigates violence against UPND and expect them to just watch.

Why hire cadres from Lusaka, if PF is popular in magongo?

    • Whether violence was instigated by another party, to respond with violence is not acceptable. Both parties are violent and should be disqualified from the elections by ECZ. If they continue with the acts of violence in 2016 both should be taken to the Hague. Uhuru responded to the instigations of violence by Ruto and both have cases in the Hague. Zambia wants mature and peaceful politics, MMD is not an exception either ,Zambia witnessed their violence too.

    • In country where the police favour one party, violence begot violence is the only answer. UPND have for a long time played by the rules and reported numerous abuses by the PF cadres to police. Unfortunately the police have ignored, UPND’s grievances. Up now no PF cadre has been arrested for their violent conduct, while UPND members get arrested instead for crimes they do not commit.

Until the police begin to play it fair UPND will continue to defend them selves once provoked.

PF be warned,UPND has now become a huge force to reckon with, so don’t try your monkey tricks and think you can intimidate them. These are angry men and women who have been disappointed by PF lies and high cost of living more especially the price of Ubunga.

    • He thought that his violent ways would be accepted in Barotseland just because he comes from Kuomboka Compund!

    • @5.1 import cadres, no its to beef up support and operational human resource all parties do the same,ba wanzelu mulemba maningi mulibe vochita? ca job kaili bwelani, uzaniko na muzanu JayJay mubwele bonse. We denounce violence and the police should act swiftly to avoid a similar event of violence.

    • @Chinyama

Don’t be surprised why I blog too much. Iam my own man. I run my own consultancy uusiness. So I have too time to indulge myself without any one commanding me. Ku sova ma engineering problems is my speciality. Ndiye ubwino wasamu na science ka.

Nizabwela UPND akankala mu power. I will come to set up a serious product design engineering company to cater for various engineering needs in Zambia.

  5. Chiwamila Mbuzi kuluma galu what was he doing blocking the way for UPND hired from lusaka and you put the blame on UPND,When we say pf hire thugs to kill pipo we have seen this in livingstone next time just finish him.

  6. I hope the Lusaka cadre imported into the Barotseland has finally realised that like all the cadres he was simply used as a pawn in the political chess game !!! I hope he will learn a big learn from this !! While he is busy fighting for his life, Kabimba was safe and snug is his bed, even getting some from one of his concubines !!!

  7. whether its PF,MMD,UPND violence is violence and it shouldnt be entertained and it is very unwise n folishly to justfy the unjustfiable actions of violence by anyone regardless of the papetrator.y fighting among ourselves? greedness, biterness and selfishness should not take the centre stage in our politics.

    • @seniormostman,well said hope chiwanzelu chabelenga,he may learn something from your uniting wise words, police are following the matter soon you will read what will happen to these violent never freemassons.

    • Imwe bachimbwi, uzani PF na police bayambe kumanga ba PF banapaya bantu ku rufunsa, lusaka naku livingstone. Then tiza siya kuzi defender. Otherwise, PF brings it on we will continue to show them that we are a force to reckon with. Remember the saying, “if you live in a glass house don’t throw stones”.

Why was that chap trying to burn a bridge which the villagers worked so hard for to build while Sata mwango was in hiding and still is?

Muzanya manzi. Masoldier na ba kapokola manje baziba ati ni UPND chabe. PF ni matuvi chabe yachimbwi no plan.
