Campaign Manager for the ruling Patriotic Front in the Mangango parliamentary by election Obvious Mwaliteta has denied reports that the PF is pressurizing the Electoral Commission of Zambia to cancel the election.

In an interview from Mangango, Mr Mwaliteta said the PF is confidently approaching the by election adding that there is no reason for rescheduling.

“Why should we postpone when we know we are winning? It is foolish for the opposition o start creating stories about the PF which are not incorrect. We are proceeding with the by election and there is no way we would ask for a postponement,” Mr Mwaliteta maintained.

His view is however contrary to that held by UPND Vice President for administration Richard Kapita who revealed that the PF is allegedly putting pressure on the ECZ to force it to postpone the election.

“They know that they are losing and because of the embarrassment that Mangango lose would cause, they are now panicking trying to cancel the vote. We will not accept this as the UPND,” Mr Kapita said.

He added, “What they want to do is what they did in Livingstone during the by election. They knew they were headed for a humiliating loss so they started violence and ended up locking up our President Mr Hichilema and several of your campaign officials. This is exactly why they ended up winning Livingstone because the postponement gave them chance to manipulate the system.

ECZ Spokesman Chris Akufuna was not available for an immediate response.

  1. That Mwaliteta is rude, how can he be greeting people with a cigarette in his left hand? But you people in Barotseland are a disgrace, allowing Mwateta disrespecting you day& night?

    • AS A NORMAL HUMAN BEING I FIND IT WORRYING THAT LOOKING AT 90% HARM THIS PF HAS DONE TO OUR NATION THERE ARE STILL NORMAL I REPEAT NORMAL PIPO WHO CAN STILL BE SUPPORTING PF BUTS MOSTLY PIGS MOVE WITH FELLOW PIGS

    • @Nostradamus
iwe Nostra,,,ahahahahah! how did you smell the cigarette from that far where you are??,,,, mwaliteta is mixed bred, mu colored with no culture,,, confused between black and white,,, thats why he has no manners, no respect,,, nothing

    • Nostradamus,
I’m with you on this issue, a cigarette on the left hand is seriously damaged morality in the PF, bizarre man.
Isn’t he the one manipulating vehicles plates fortnight ago!? Meanwhile “Musali muhulu” Libongani, seems campaigning for who? Peace, people of Mangango or PF? Hope after the events when everyone, including the “Obvious Moi lit eta” when heading back to LSK et al, the IGs journey should not only look for UPND inclined towards arresting is concerned, esp what occurred to that MP recently changed?
Tired of PF even though I’m non partisan but have respect for human rights, and PF has none, I rest my case intellect Nostradamus.
      The Skeleton Key.

  2. I am told Bembas are the strong suppoters of PF but i have been in Muchinga,Luapula and Northen province, these people are still sleeping in thatched houses like bushmen ans still drinking water from shallow wells and rivers.Schools and health centers are far apart and poverty levels are high, thus,my country men its not the tribe otherwise all Bembas wlll be reach by now because Chiluba,Kaunda and Sata claim to be Bembas but still as poor as any province in this country.
Thus,PF has failed all Zambians, this, lets all vote for HH now as his Young,Educated, successful business man and a stable family not people with so many bastandars as children

    • The ones Hon Kabimba described as “uneducated” and said not to “want the constitution” but only un “development”, thus is surely I suppose. Meanwhile the “Hide and Seek” is still on, the Ebola virus is threatening mankind, what programs’ are PF doing in helping finding the cure of this monstrous heck of a disease, Ebola?
Sorely, is it leadership when the elected retires to hiding?

    • You may continue voting for UPND for as long as you wish but majority of Zambians’ have distanced themselves from this party as can be seen from the popularity decline since 2006 when HH took over it’s leadership from 27% to 18%.HH himself confessed this year that it is not possible for UPND to win a national election with its’ current number of supporters.

  3. @Nostradamus
The man is not rude, he simply has no manners not even bad ones. He’s greeting elderly people and not his peers! Are there no laws about smoking in public places?

    • As the ending unfolds, the entire constituency (community) will be on cigarettes. The MP needs seriously help as credence to the electorates and society at large. The money he buys a packet can be useful, considering years, in educational programs in eliminating cigarettes smoking. If our elders can’t do it, who else is responsible if not us?

  4. @sundan

u ar a big f.0.0l who cant see beyond wide nose,u cant see beyond tribe and u cant think with your roten brain but with your miniroty tribe.who told you that a president has to develop areas where he comes from neglecting other areas? is this not a ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION? is this the kind of politics u want to introduce as UPND? nowanda pipo like u ar a disgrace to the country and you need to be tamed becoz u will bring division in our country.
dont you know that a president is for the all zambians? hence he has to balance things.
and in your shalow / limeted thinking capacity HH wil buld beter houses in southern province?
U BETER SHUT UP U STINKING TRIBALIST!

  5. I don’t buy the notion of rigging by election any more, its time the opposition put in place tougher voting approaches to deter the rigging, one such measure will be monitors to call their main centers immediately after results are tallied at each polling station, most people know each other very well so any unknown people shouldn’t be allowed to cast any vote.no ferrying any ballot boxes.i monitored the 2001 (under zimt) election and i know the weakness of the system.no movement of ballot boxes after vote casting period.just call main center for results.

    • Hence the need for running mate clause to outcast the the “Animal Constitution” PF wants gathering dust in the “PF closet” (cabinet) or suitcase if you like, against their own 90 days. Problem mal( Functions) at the helm.

  6. Where is Mushota? I want to know how she weighs on this article. Anyway, am concerned with how the aging PF candidate will articulate policy issues in parliament if he wins the by-election. Am sure he will also emulate GBM to donate his term gratuity to his constituency.

    • Kabimba called Moshota, Saulous,PF et al as the “uneducated” what do you expect? They are hiding despite not being able to be seen physically. Niyozanda, ask veteran Mangani or her lady, Masebo, Eman Mwamba.
May be the hiding has contaminated them, where is the Cobra?

    • The PF candidate may even be more educated than you. Learn to give elderly people respect even though they are not of your tribe.

    • Its one of PF’s number one employment criteria, one must be very old. Surely you can even smell the charcoal in PF with this old age scenario.

  7. PF has just to pack and go !

I was supprised to find out tht Zambia my country is toping the list OF POOREST COUNTRIES IN AFRICA whilst SEYCHELLES is toping the RICHEST COUNTRIES IN AFRICA with Botswana trailing behind. Google **10-poorest-countries-in-the-world/

I cried the whole NIGHT & asked my self WHERE DID WE GO WRONG ?

HH and other industralists who LOVE ZAMBIA.

    • Zambia is not a poor country by world bank or IMF standard and therefore cannot top the list of poorest countries. For your information Zambia is a middle income country with Gdp per capita of about $1,600 and if anything this figure is now higher and could be $1,900 following the rebasing of our economy. Poor countries are those in the low income category which have Gdp per capita of $1,100 and below and in Africa they include the likes of Malawi, Zimbabwe, Congo DR etc. So spare your tears and shed them when you go to HH’s farms and learn that he is paying his workers as little as K250 per month all in the name of economic management.

  8. upnd must be very vigilant,pf is most likely to try to sneak in some ballots from kuomboka compound in Lusaka. upnd shud know that Livingstone was riggid by pf,and if they allow a postponement of mangango it might be riggid.

  9. But things have really gotten rotten in this country, how can we allow a situation where the Head of state has never been seen or heard in public for over 51 days now. Pf has really taken us for granted,so is our constitution. what are the roles of parliament and judiciary in such a situation? Iam really tired and sick of this circus. Ati, the President is well and working hard,,my foot!

    • Don’t you have better things to do in life than to wait and see the president? If you are that frustrated as you claim go ahead and commit suicide.
