The Holy Fire Ministries Bishop Dominic Nyondo who was arrested by police in Kitwe for allegedly sexually abusing nine young girls from his church has committed suicide.

Copperbelt Police Chief Joyce Kasosa has confirmed the development saying Bishop Nyondo is believed to have thrown himself in the Kafue River in the early hours of today.

Bishop Nyondo, 47, of House number 853 Kapoto township in Kitwe died when he drowned in the Kafue River and left a note written in Bemba claiming that he was innocent of all the allegations.

In the note, Bishop Nyondo wrote that he was sorry to the lawyer but knew that there was no truth about all the accusations.

He wrote that it was just divisions in the church which led to him being accused of having canal knowledge of the young girls.

He wrote that the girls were asked to make false allegations to tarnish his name when his fellow Pastors wanted to be leaders in the church but he denied them the chance which led to the formation of breakaway church.

He accused a named Pastor who has established a breakaway church where all his members have gone to of being behind the false accusations.

Bishop Nyondo complained that he has embarrassed the whole nation and there was no need for him to continue living.

Bishop Nyondo said in his suicide note that he is dying for a good reason and quoted Matthew Chapter 7 vs 1 – 2.

He has since thanked all those who supported him during his cases in court.

Bishop Nyondo appeared in court for trial last week on Monday where 3 witnesses testified and was expected to re – appear in court on Monday next week for continued trial.

    • This sounds fishy. Did they find the body? And who the hell commits suicide by drowning. Looks to me that he is planning on “resurrecting” and watch as his gullible congregation eat up his testimony!

    • Mathew 7-1, is the second shortest verse in Bible, it used to come in R.E exams in the 80s. It says:
      “Don’t judge others…”
I said it before that the man of God was innocent. I wondered why among all those girls NONE of them could scream when pastor was coming?
This culture of “sleeping” with children I don’t buy it.
Sometimes I stand there holding, I can’t imagine a girl can stand just by looking or feeling him. Mine needs pumped up WOMEN.
If I was accused of such, I would show the female judge that look bushe ubu ubu moneni ubu sure ubu and then jump in Kafue River. Mathew 7:1-2.

    • they’re are all servants of Satan starting from tb joshua, they’re only in church because of the money…False prophets and pastors deceiving people

    • @Bwlaya,please be humane when making comments. We all deserve yo die because we are all sinners.Jesus has talken all our sins. It’s sad what has happened.

  1. Good riddance! Too bad there are no crocodiles in that river. They should have eaten his balls before completely drowning!

  2. The truth will come out one day, I think those girls were used why did they not say it when it happened two years down the line

    • @Mama; one or two girls is plausible. Nine, impossible. Most of these pastors are predators. If they are not wrestling money from the congregation, they are busy messing with bamukabene mu church or molesting little girls or boys in the case of the Catholic Church. Two years is not a long time not to disclose molestation. It’s very humiliating to the victim and most of the times they are never believed!
I knew of one such pastor whose specialty was to cast out demons from little girls. Never boys. One of the girls got pregnant and guess who the culprit was?

  3. I urge the brethlen to uplift men of God in prayers. The men of God are under attack.Let us not be quick to judge.Yes ,mistakes have been made but they still deserve our prayers.

    • The bible is clear on the qualifications of Overseers. If they have issues let them step down and be disciplined and corrected by other leaders of noble characters. As Christians we have a duty to speak the truth in love to correct those in error.

  4. Don’t confirm anything until you find the evil chaps body! He may just be hiding. Put the wife pa kampelwa and she’ll tell you where he has gone.

  5. He was never a christian. A man of God does not resort to killing under what circumstance. He was just guilt of the sins he committed. He has joined his friends Judas Iscariot, Adolf Hitler and many others who committed self murder. They never enter the kingdom of God

  6. Chekov is right , the man is just hiding, he stated by throwing his sim and phone into the kafue, no person saw him diving into the river but going to the river, he deserves to die by hanging.

  7. This abuse of young girls and attractive women on pretext casting demons and Satanism by crooked Pastors has been going on for sometime in Zambia- imported from a certain West Africa country whose culture is a blend of Christianity and African traditional religion.

  8. Good riddance. I wish him well as he meets the holy ghost fire in hell. The world is full of fake preachers that do not deserve an inch of sympathy. If he was indeed a man of Go with strong faith God, why did he take his own life. God has his own way of dealing with fake preachers like him. Bashimapepo bafeki…. bena nevers mumba, danny pule…..etc……conmen…….! I do not mind attending their church services, but teti mposemo my hard earning dollar muka bale kaboo…. That is my principle, I go to church, but no offering. Church is all about money and power. I would rather assist the poor or feed the hungry than give Nevers Mumba or Pule.

  9. If what he wrote was right and caused by a pressure group, then all of them who accused him and character assassination are doomed to go to hell and they shall find him waiting for them.

Christians and Church leaders must be strong and persevere for any trials you may go in. For the sake of the Cross of Jesus, many things must happen and if they do not come your way then you are a lurke-warm Christians

  10. Poverty is making these tutemba churches thrive. Government should start regulating churches because we are tired of many fake and hungry men of God tarnishing religion.

  11. Hope he wasn’t wrongfully acused pantu nowadays av stopped rubbing shoulders notu ma infants utu coz they have become so corny & mischievous but if you did it,u served yoself right, instant justice waipele tefyo.Anyway RIP if u were innocent like claimed.

  12. its really unfortunate if this story is true,
it makes wonder whenever i hear of these
stories from breakaway churches. you can
never hear of any such stories from
    catholic, SDA, UCZ,
what lesson do we learn from these churches?
